Price is now 614 MXN or adult general admission. We parked at the 10 min walk location on IO overnight so I don’t know what parking costs. Be here at 0730 to get in line. Lot is full by 8AM when they open. They take credit cards and have ATM on site.

Report Check-In

Crowded, bad organisiation of parking lot, terrible organisation for paying the expensive entrance fee. A lot of souvenir sellers. But the side itself is impressive.

Report Check-In

The price increased once again. Today (5.10.2021) It's 600 pesos. Parking 80 pesos but you can leave your van outside for free and walk around 1km to the entrance of the ruins. Sundays half price. The ticket from 17.00 to 18.00 which costs half price is not more available since pandemy. I think it will be forever.

Report Check-In

Price was increased again, now it's 533 pesos for foreigners during the day, 600 pesos for the light show at night (without entrance during the day, only an hour in the evening before the show starts)

Report Check-In

entry around 480p pp. (The other ruins are 50-80p). LOTS of vendors everywhere annoying you. the worst in Mexico. It should be called chichen itza tourist markets, with free entry! definitely not for budget conscious travellers - you can see over 5 other ruins in Mexico for the same price

Report Check-In

Updating the price for the half ticket from 5 pm to 6 pm. It is now 260$.
Still think it is the best deal. Almost no people. Could see the main buildings only.

Report Check-In

We dropped this site because in our opinion the new entrance fee is totally overpriced! We saw the MNA in CDMX, the pyramids in Teotihuacan and Palenque for the usual Mexican price of 75Pesos and the wonderful Tonina pyramids even for free!! So we don't want to spoil these world wide growing tourist traps anymore! Courage to the cap😉

Thanks for sharing the info about 5pm! works well... wen we arrived at 3 pm the place was just like a Zoombie atack Very Very crowded... But personally, enjoyed much more Tikal ;)

Report Check-In

Previous post is correct! Go there at 5 pm, go through the entrance and keep going straight ahead and then to your left will be the ticket counter where you get the tickets for HALF the price.
Much better price: check
Amazing sunset on the ruins: check
Place not totally overcrowded and get to actually enjoy it: check
Get to make awesome pictures: check
This is by far the best buck for your money if you want to visit this site, totally recommended!

Half price tickets everyday from 5pm-6pm! We walked over there scared that the info we got was wrong BUT when we got to the entrance saw the Boleterias closed and asked a guard and he pointed us where to buy them! The price of the ticket it’s 255mxn but you can only visit half of the site (for us was perfect:) AND you will have the place with no tourists and almost no vendors! Amazing amazing sunset!

we were going to stop here but its to expensive. We continued on. The ruins else where were less expensive and just as good. Its to bad their prices are to high for travellers, this one was a top on our list. looks like they doubled all the prices as of this year.

Report Check-In

481ppp + 80 parking. Too expensive compared to other ruins but still amazing too see. Palenque and Yaxchilan much nicer for the price.

Report Check-In

The price is now 480pp + 80 for parking!! We think its too much. The site is nice, but we much prefered Palenque.

Report Check-In

Entrance Fee for the Site now 254 MXN/person, parking for our 25ft. rig was 40 MXN.
Between 8-10 am it was not too crowded.

Report Check-In

As said before, price still 242pp, still extremely busy - expect a few buses even dead on 8AM. But as the site is large, it quickly dissolved and for the first hour or two, it wasn't too bad.
We arrived about 15 min before 8AM, parked about 50m in front of the paid parking lot entry, right next to three (!) overlanders :)) All good and busy, so should be safe enough.
PS: hello to woodhouse, andamosviendo and the pickup truck with camper ;)

Report Check-In

We stayed for two nights 50m from the site's entrance. Very quiet, it always felt safe. Cars passing by until 10pm, when the ruins close. Toilets at the entrance. Price is 242MP, you can reenter as many times as you want during the day you bought the ticket. Tickets don't have names ;-)

Report Check-In

price is now 242 pesos pp. I highly recommend to arrive at the early hours as (extremely) crowded hours are between 11am and 3 PM. if you come early you can also park outside the estacionamiento (30 pesos) with shadow, no risk. You can visit the site in 2 hours if you go quick, and still see everything. if you plan to buy things, it's getting cheaper the further you get from the entrance

Report Check-In

The open at 8am, if you ar there you have the chance to see the buildings maybe for 1 hour without a lot of people,in the day its very busy, lot of sellers and tourists

Report Check-In

wanted to update prices: parking was 30p; entry 232p. go early to avoid crowds and there are not so many vendors.

Report Check-In

Entrance fee for foreigners is 220 MEX/person, parking 30 MEX. The light-and-sound-show is free. You need a reservation normally done by your hotel. We stayed at the Pyramid Inn in Pisté, where it was not possible to get one. The guy at the reception didn't know or didn't want it...? So we decided to go there without anything. After having asked several employeers one explained that we were allowed to enter as long as there would be enough capacities - also without a reservation. After all we could not see the show, because it was cancelled ten minutes before beginning because of heavy rain... ;-)!
