Description

20km from Transfontier Park. Fee is R288 per person with own toilets, shower, covered area, sink and fire pit. Beautiful setting. Lodge has a bar and restaurant and free wifi. Game Lodge has its own animal reserve with buck and wildebeest. A viewing platform at the top of the dune is a nice spot for sunset. It also has a separate lion reserve where lion tracking safaris can be done (don’t entirely agree with this as some lions have GPS trackers in them so that they can be located for viewing purposes).

Perfect place to stopover before or after you visited KTP. We found this much better than Mata Mata. Plenty privacy, beautiful „tent“ setting with own toilet, shower, dish washing unit, wood etc. Plenty of game to see from the campsite, or the nearby waterhole right in front of the lodge. Don‘t miss the viewing platform for an incredible sundowner view (we took our own gin tonic up there…)
Slept one night at the campsite and one night in the chalet, which are also beautiful, clean, and very well equipped. Restaurant serves good and fresh food. Staff is super friendly.

Perfect- campsite as described by others below. Super nice and warm welcoming. We had the possibility to go for the lions tracking and enjoyed it very much. Nelson is a fantastic guide. We stayed 2 nights. Happy to come back again!

Great experience at Kalahari Game Lodge, staff provided plenty of wood for the donkey boiler. Most campsites are spread out and private. We had a small camping trailer and no issues with space. The 4x4 self drive is great fun! We also did the lion drive and saw 5 lions, so we got our moneys worth. If you need fuel nearby you will need to cross the border to SA. They let us do this without stamping just to get fuel and supplies at the shop.

Beautiful campsite! Private ablutions (shower, toilet, sink) which gets cleaned every day! 4x4 trail is very beautiful but the sand is very deep (be mindful). The lodge itself is not great. The game drivers are nice, but the pool is dirty, WiFi is slow and everything looks a little shabby. But staying at the camp site is amazing! No fresh drinkable water though!

Nice camp sites under trees in the Auab river bed. Each with own ablution facilities and donkey for warm water that you have to stoke yourself (wood supplied). Price N$240 pppn. Lots of game around but to see the lions, that are kept in a different enclosed area, you have to book a tour with the lodge at N$790pp.

Great camp, do the self drive 4x4 trail, it is an experience not to be missed.

Report Check-In

Really great stay. Camping sites are about 1km from the lodge and there are many friendly animals so you can walk anywhere. The 4x4 self drive route was the highlight of our stay, don't miss it, about 22km of sand tracks with many animal sightings.

We stayed 2 nights, really worth it! And we have been alone there. Campsite and own ablutions were very clean. There is a platform with shade where you can sit.
The riverbed was green, we saw springbok and a zebra family with a baby. In the morning we did the lion tracking, AMAZING! For SADC NAD195 ppn
For big rigs you have to use a different entrance gate, call reception +264 63 252 052

Great stopover after the park. Lots of game. The 4wd trail was great fun even in our super heavy landcruiser camper set up we got up the steepest part (just!). Well worth 210ZAR pp. clean ablutions and solar lights, water not hot would need to light the donkey but we didn’t bother. Very quiet camp site.

Report Check-In

Campsites located in the picturesque Auob riverbed for truckcamper also, with clean private ablution, heated and lighted by solar energie. The walkway to the lodge with pool and restaurant is 1 km through the riverbed. The staff are friendly and helpfull, the restaurant we don't tested. They offer different gamedrives
