Latest Check-Ins

Stayed for 3 nights while visiting St John's. No one bothered us, although it is off season now.

One other c camper here so far staying for the night. Spots are not level but not severe. Nice washrooms. Cafe is not open early in the off-season after Labor Day. Nice views. Quiet at night.

Report Check-In

Slightly slanted as stated, not too bad, some picnic tables, trash cans etc., but because of all the cars coming and leaving, I decided to move down to the other, smaller lot.

Report Check-In

Us and several other camper vans were in the parking lot overnight. No one bothered us. Folks started arriving around 0430 for sunrise. Trash cans available. Washrooms opened at 10am. Large parking lot overlooking ocean.

This place is permanently closed.

Excellent spot! The view is incredible. Arrived late after watching sunset at Signal Hill - 4 other small rvs. Very quiet and lovely sunrise with whales to boot.

Report Check-In

Spent a foggy night in the Cape Spear lighthouse parking lot. Fog horns goes off every few minutes but still got a good night sleep with ear plugs. A few locals park with music playing but it got quieter later in the night.

Report Check-In

Stayed here overnight to get a chance to see the sunrise. Arrived a bit late and 3-4 cars/campers were already set-up. Lots of traffic speeding by and loud music until midnight or so.

Sunrise was beautiful!

Lots of parking room for our 27’ motorhome. Lot is sloped, but was not too bad. Wind was unreal!!! Had to pull the slide in due to the noises the awning over the slide was making! Thought i may loose it!

Would stay here again.

Report Check-In

Some people driving around with their car in the late evening, making noise.
We had no luck, very foggy and cloudy in the evening and early morning.
Washroom opened at 10.
Nice place to stay!

Big lot with lots of space for all kinds of rigs. Visitors come thru the night, for what, I'm not sure. Lights. Noise. Still, it was a good spot to overnight. Also, lighthouse so were great to tour. Internet fantastic. Missed sunrise - too cloudy.

What a beautiful place to spend the night on the Eastern most point in North America. Park Rangers leave about 6 and there are several cars still here. Don’t know how many will overnight. Great view of Signal Hill and the ships coming and going out of St. John’s harbor. The washrooms are locked after 6 pm. Please keep it clean. If it’s foggy you’ll definitely hear the fog horn!

Fair amount of space later in the day. Beautiful trails. Early evening quite noisy with motorcycles.

Report Check-In

I don't know why this place has so many positive reviews. If you want to not be able to fall asleep because of the constant coming and going of cars and motorcycles at night, people talking loud and playing music late then being woken up at the crack of dawn by sunrise nerds then this is the place for you! Sure the views are amazing, like so many other spots in the province. Extremely windy as well. Parking lot is large with tons of spots. The most level are up front closest to the water or way at the back. Do not recommend, I would go to the other smaller parking lot just before arriving at thr lighthouse, might not be very level but should be quieter with the same views.

Great night. Good breeze. Beautiful sunrise.

Stayed here in our 35ft Fifthwheel. Lot's of parking. We parked along the bus parking at the very back. Many others here to catch the sunrise. Stayed until opening then left shortly after not to take up space.

Report Check-In

Spend a foggy and cold night here to get up and watch the sunrise. About 6 campers overnight but two dozen or so people arrived for the sunrise. Excellent beautiful place for one night.

I did ask the ranger if it is ok to park overnight. The response was technically “no” but we leave at 6.

Great overnight option or base camp while visiting St John’s. The destination alone is worth the stop.
One other van staying the night and we felt very comfortable. It’s busywith lots of tourists in and out but little activity after dark. Trash cans, good cell service and bathrooms (didn’t use so not sure if open).

Report Check-In

As described. Quite busy with local traffic of cars in and out all night, even after sunset. But other then that no issues to report.

Perfect location after exploring the area. Great sunset, beautiful sunrise. Not too busy

Report Check-In

Amazing place to stay. Overall, beautiful scenery, and if you have a clear day, the sunset over the mainland produces stunning colours on the Cape, and you’re already on location for the epic first sun over North America in the mornings. No issues parking overnight; no signs posted and there were 8 overlanding vehicles the night we stayed. It gets busy with car traffic through the parking lot just after sunset (including a few cars doing donuts) but gets very quiet after that. Car people start arriving again about 30-45 minutes before sunrise to see the sun come up over the ocean. We were there in off-season, so the historic site facilities were operating on reduced hours (closed on the day were there, so no washrooms).

Report Check-In

I stayed there one night. Some people for the sunset, and very few for the sunrise around 5:30 am. Expect people meeting at night and some car passing by; the small parking just before this one near the lighthouse might be less busy.
Perfect view, and a good night of sleep.

Cars come and go al throughout the night.

Lighthouse is nice to see at night

Great spot for whale watching the following day and epic sunrises

Report Check-In

Stayed for a night. Cold and windy, but very handy. An amazing number of people out to see the sunrise considering you couldn't see the sun!

Report Check-In

Absolutly amazing view!
Unfortunately the washrooms were closed due to the constructions...
Very calm at night except the waves!
We could even watch some whales in the early morning!

Report Check-In

Good spot, stayed one night, lots of cars come and go for sunset and Whale watching. No WiFi at that place. Nowhere.

Report Check-In

Big carpark with lots of people coming and going around sunset. There were a few cars coming later in the night/early morning playing loud music so we didn’t get the most peaceful sleep. There’s construction going on, however washrooms are still open. Nice views of the ocean and towards Signal Hill. Lots of information signs around re the history of the area and lovely lighthouse to look into at the top.

2 or 3 other folks spending the night here tonight. Beautiful view of the city and the water.

Très bel endroit! Nous étions dans la brume, mais ô combien magnifique. Point négatif : Le fort qui crie à tous les 10 secondes...il faut des bouchons!

One other RV here. Plenty of room. View of two icebergs. Very windy today.
