Something not right?

Description

There are several places by the road in the National Forest. I drove further than the (previous) last spot here in ioverlander and I think this is the best view of all. And till here the road is not that bad. Plenty of space. Good for big rigs, cars, vans or tents. I got two bars in my AT&T.

Access road closed at Bridger-Teton entry. Plenty of room in parking lot.

Report Check-In

I was surprised how busy this was on a Wednesday in mid-October, but all the park campgrounds are closed so that’s probably why. I arrived at dark and all the good spots were taken. I managed to find a place to tuck in, but it’s definitely crowded and some people were running generators at night. Not really my scene, but the views were amazing and the price was right.

Report Check-In

It's literally the best spot for free forest camping in Tetons. Big Rigs can make it easy, level spots, great views. There is a loop through the camps for a turnaround.

Report Check-In

Great camp spot! I stayed two nights in my sedan and had great views of the mountains. It was busy but I didn’t mind that out here in bear country.

Report Check-In

Awesome spot just outside the Tetons. Plenty of spots to pick from. We chose a site on the hill top, about a mile from the paved road. Quite a few people here, but an amazing view. Road was hard packed but a little rough, motor coaches, 5th wheels and small sedans made it up here. Go slow and you’ll be fine.

Report Check-In

Spent three nights around these NF spots. This one has the best views but all are lovely. The road is not rough until you go much further up. It is busy but the ranger told us, if you can see a yellow sign you can park anywhere you fit. Don't worry about campsite numbers. There is also a sign saying "campsites accommodate multiple campers". So be ready to get cosy, but you can usually find a spot even arriving late. Weak Verizon service comes and goes. To the people who screamed at us and punched our motorhome until we left because they wanted one of the eastern spots to themselves.... come on man.

Report Check-In

This place is awesome. Best view ever and 30 mins to Jackson. Five days free. 2 bars verizon and plenty of spaces for all kinds of rigs.
Very clean pit toilets and the host Bill was awesome.

Definitely mosquitoes fyi

Report Check-In

Great place to stay with my 30feet RV. We were told it’s busy and hard to ride up there, but easy road and enough space for several RV. Beautiful view on Grand Teton

Report Check-In

Excellent location, nice views. Arrived in the dark so wasn’t sure what to expect but navigating dirt road past the lower parking area was ok despite it being narrow and sometimes steep. The camping areas are spaced a bit apart from one another, just keep an eye out for signage.

Report Check-In

Just as described! There are several other campers (vans and RVs) in the spot. Plenty of space for us all!

Report Check-In

Easy to find, crowded 10-15 other cars in lot

Report Check-In

Spent a night here while exploring Grand Teton NP. Busy, as described, even on a Tuesday in early June. Ranger comes by to make sure people aren’t overstaying their welcome. As long as you’re not on the road you’re good to pull up and share sites. Great view of the Tetons - make sure to wake up for sunrise!

Report Check-In

Stayed in the Bridger-Teton designated campsite for the five day limit. The first two sites, the lower parking lot and the upper parking lot were a zoo. You may see 20 people camped when you go to bed and wake up to 50 more. Drivers are racing through the parking lot and up the gravel dirt/road constantly, throwing up clouds of dust. There are no quiet hours, and some ran their generators all night. The toilet at the lower parking lot was closed because it had not been pumped. I finally went up went further up and found a place that was perfect. If you go up the dirt road, remember it’s dispersed camping in numbered sites only. The campground host inspects several times a day. No views of the Tetons because of the wildfire smoke from Canadian and Montana wildfires. My only complaint once I found a quieter campsite up the road, was too many people were pooping on the ground and not burying their waste. Come on people, use a trowel and dig a cat hole! Yikes!!

Report Check-In

Stayed a couple nights. Large parking area overlooking Tetons. You won't be alone, mid-July and rigs squeezed in everywhere they could. Verizon signal with data during the night but nearly non-existent during the day even though phone
shows 2 bars. Had to go north a few miles to a pull off area to connect to work

Report Check-In

I was here for 3 days.
Great view of Tetons from an elevated area where the sites are located.
All site were taken, some were sharing sites in their RVs and trailers.
Overall it's quiet, with small generators running sometimes.
No shades big enough to cover your vehicles in most sites.
Tenting is allowed, and there are some quieter spots with shades for those.
4-5bars ATT LTE. Service is good early morning and nights. but internet slows down during the day for some reason even at 4-5bars LTE.
Camp hosts are great folks, and come around every 1-2 days.
Fire is allowed in fire pits, and must be drenched after use.
Great site

ahhh mazing. There were over 100 cars looking for camping spots on a Wednesday. insane area. 2021 is gonna be insane. if your not here by 9 am forget about it

on a side note I have never seen so many bugs in my entire life.. and I'm from the south.

as the review below me states, people will come into your spot. we had 3 do so. they were quiet and we didn't care ...

Report Check-In

Oh my god! The Forest Service has recently made this a “camp in designated space” but refuses to enforce their own rule. So. I pick a designated space and end up with 2uninvited for those of us who do!!!! guests on my “space”. I call the FS and am iinformed they don’t enforce the rule. Screamiing kids, yelling adults. If you don’t want to abide by the rules, stay home. You are ruining it for those of us who abide by the rules!!!

Report Check-In

I forgot to upload pictures and it’s having me re-rate. We Ended up coming back for 2 more nights even though it’s still packed. I think anywhere you go around here is going to be busy. Maybe it’s just Covid?? Get here early and... also, people are pretty understanding that they aren’t going to have a ton of space.

Report Check-In

Absolutely PACKED!! Be ok with scavenging for a spot and sharing it with everyone and their cousins. We got here at 5 and there was already 30+ campers/ motor home and tents scattered. Rough road, but there were 40’ motor homes up there so it can be done!

Report Check-In

Insanely packed. The view is great but there’s a million other people here, even on a weekday. Kids partying & screaming at night, generators kicking on in the morning. It’s good if you just need a place to sleep and use internet.

Report Check-In

Nice place!! Views of the Tetons are great!

Report Check-In

Amazing view of Teton Mountain.
Pretty busy so plan to arrive early. We took the last spot but you can improvise spot by squeezing your car or trailer if it’s not too big.
Road is steep but fine, any bus/RV/Trailer/Van can do it.
No amenities

15 minutes from the downtown of Jackson Holl. When you climb the hill, at the Y take on your left. On the right the road is beat-up but it can still doable if you have the driving skill. On the left junction you will quickly arrive at the spot of the GPS coordinates. If the place is crowded you can continue on the same road and it brings you to other less frequented spot.
What to say about the view. wow

Report Check-In

Showed up at 4pm on Wednesday and the place was already fully packed. A group of airstreams had most of the good view. You could squeeze in if you absolutely need to camp. So I think it’s a matter of luck getting a spot to yourself here. The road is easy to get up also.

Report Check-In

Stayed two nights.
There are designated campsites but nobody seemed to care if you just picked a spot. It was pretty busy both nights when we arrived around 5pm but people were still coming in and finding spots at 10pm.

Fantastic views of mountains and amazing sunsets.

Report Check-In

Up the road, stay left at the fork....less than one mile up the hill.
Turn in at the large boulder on the left.
Fantastic Tetons views
Super quiet
Lots of rigs scattered along the ridge
Will come back.

Report Check-In

stayed in site across the road from the big lot, no views of the mtn but much more private than being 10' from your neighbor.

hill behind the site has great views, just hike up 50 yards.

please read the signs and put your fire OUT out. People before us left some half burned logs, they started smoking and burning again once the sun heated them up. luckily we were here and put it out all the way.

Report Check-In

Insane views, very busy camp area. Allowed to camp for 5 days free.

Report Check-In

We have to agree! This is the Best Grand Teton view. A little crowded but for what you get worth it and free! Bear boxes and fire rings. Got here on Thursday evening and only a couple spots left.

Report Check-In

amazing views of the Tetons. plenty of room. bunch of people with campers and motorhomes.

Report Check-In

Great place, lots of space, easily accessible, epic views! Bearproof box and firerings.

Report Check-In

Bumpy dirt road to get to top 4-5 sites up there. 2 on road on way up. Beautiful view. So windy my van rocked all night but quiet otherwise.

Report Check-In

Great Camping spot with a spectacular view across the Snake River Valley to the Teton Range. Just outside Grant Teton National Park in Bridger Teton National Forest. There are several dispersed campsites along the forest road. There were 10 more campers with us at the Labour Day Weekend.
