Description

A strategicly well located campsite at the Mex 190 (Panamericana) just before crossing the border to Guatemala. 3 springs, 3 rivers, 44 lakes make up this great theme park for Mexicans. You can go swimming or hiking to the Mayan ruins. We camped on a separate parking lot at the entrance, stayed at the lake, and for 30 pesos per day had access to toilets with bucket flush. (The price is made up of 10 pesos / person park entrance and 30 pesos / day for a place on the lake - you may but everywhere else in the park for free camping). We could not use our AT&T mobile here - no net.

really nice area to spent a few days before or after the border crossing. you have several options to camp, for free if you don't stay at a palapa. there are several options to stay in the woods close to the river, just drive through the small village and have a look. Entry is still 30 Pesos/Person. The whole area is well kept, no trash around and the lagunas are crystal clear and refreshing. Seems not many visitors find their way here, nearly all of the restaurants are closed, even on weekends. but you can find some tiendas, selling beer, chips and coke.
we highly recommend visiting!

We stayed here for two days. It was calm and we had a wonderful meal at the Restaurant. Camping was free, but there was no electricity at sites. Toilets for 5 Pesos, closed at night. The waterfalls and the historic ruins are very nice.

Perfect spot to spend the night before the boarder. 25 pesos pp to enter the site. We camped in the parking lot right beside the main gate (to the right) and didn’t pay any extra. Good spot for any size rig. The best spot in our opinion is the camp site on IOverlander a bit further down the road. I think 100 pesos extra gets you a beautiful spot on the river with a palapa. A couple river crossings to get there but would have been easy in our long ford transit.

Stayed here before crossing into Guatemala. Camped with a tent at the first place on the right after the entry fee caseta (closed when I arrived at 7pm).

Blue gated building with small tienda. Lakeside palapas w/ electricity, flush toilets, and cold shower. Pay internet--15/1hr or 25/12hrs.

Very nice family.

We slept one night by the laguna near to the main entrada and didn't like it at all. It was super noisy and there were cars running all night. Toilets are closed after 6pm and cost 3 pesos during daytime.

We slept two other nights at the spot called "Camping with Palapas & River" on iOverlander. Just follow the sign to the archeological site, you will cross 2-3 rivers. We stayed in the parking for 30 pesos per day and really enjoyed (take a look at our review on the app). Toilets are open all night and don't cost anything. Plus, the spot to swim is better, clear and clean water.

The ruins are worth to see!

Beautiful place, we enjoyed taking our 25’’ RV near the archaeological site. Camped near the lake ‘pool’.

Enjoyed walking around, got free WiFi in front of the school. Peaceful and full of beauty, it’s such a perfect way to end our Mexico trip which was surprisingly excellent and we enjoyed a lot.

25 pesos per person the entrance which included the night.

We camped here New Year’s Eve on our way to Guatemala with our Hennessy Hammock. We camped out front of Cocina Comedor El Pececito Nadador - it’s on the way to the Cabanas Eden. We asked at the restaurant and they said it was 100$ pesos per night but no one ever came to collect. It was a little busy for us but it was a nice safe spot before the border. It was 20$ pp for entry to the park. Beautiful water and scenery. (We are on a motorcycle)

Do this. When you pay the access fee go to the right and continue signs of "cabañas eden". A primitive restaurant will welcome you. We paid 20p and stay there 2 nites. Friendly family. Lovely kids. Waterfalls are near. Lagoons are super crystal. Wifi by code in Centro. No cell signal. Ruins are far from here but the walk is nice

This is a perfect spot before the border to Guatemala. And it is very nice. We were here off season with not so many people. There were no guards and we didn´t pay at all. We talked with some people and a senora in the kiosk (think she lives there). Everyone said it was safe, and we stayed even without the guard. Sanitario i simple.

A wonderful stop after or before crossing the border to Guatemala. Mostly Mexican people here. Everybody is very friendly. Gets probably very full on weekends. You can stay at the parking lot or we asked at the restaurant Linda bist and. Oils stay directly at the lagoon for 50 pesos. Entrance fee to the lagoon is 20 pesos each. Swimming is great and we have our own palapa

Really nice facility! I was o ly expecting a primitive set up based on ioverlander, but there are nice palapas, decent bathrooms, and restaurants. We stayed on the other side of the river. You have to drive through it to cross. No electricity, but beautiful sites, nice walking paths, and really nice ruins. site. We were able to split the 100 Q cost for the palapa, for over night camping. Plenty of room for 2 vehicles. Easy run to the border from here.

Serene spot next to the water after a London day/ border crossing. 20mx pp, bathrooms, no hookups

We got here well after dark paid 20p pp. There was a pan flute playing for half an hour which was very nice. Left first thing in the morning. Seemed totally safe.

We stopped here for a few hours but did not camp. A nice walk along side of lake and on to some falls. There is a small turtle Sanctuary too that is a little sad. Super super hot here.

Camped at the parking lot of Lagos de Colon to break our driving hours. Restrooms open until 6:00 PM. The place has some fresh water pools with palapas and food stands around. Very popular among the locals. There's an archeological site 2.5 km from the pools but did not visit it. Parking lot is not gated but it felt safe.

Nice place, tight for bigger vehicles. Very busy with mexican tourists around the lagoons but the campground was super quiet by the river. 20pp entry and no one has asked us for camping money. Showers and toilets available in peoples houses for 5pesos.

40 pesos per night for 2 people. This one of my favorite spots on the whole drive, should have spent another day here. Such an amazing playground for kids and adults! Loved it.

Beautiful place. The Mayan ruins are open 9-5, but camping is free after you pay the park entrance fee. We left at 9 and were at the border into Guatemala by 11.
