Description

Moderator Note: Day Use Only.
.....
A nice gravel road, we stopped where the pin takes you; a small pull off to the side with trees and an open field blocked by large rocks. We were able to have a fire. Couple other people in vans parked a bit further down the road. Good for 1 night. Near a gun range so you can hear gun shots in the distance in the evening but not at night.

There is a sign before this spot that says “day use only.” Also down a gravel road and hot and dry.
So I left And I’m heading to Bakers hole. Better spot, and in the trees which is nice. Only $20 at bakers 5 min up road.

It was a nice place to sleep for the night but in the morning a park ranger asked us to leave. We told him about iOverlander saying it was “okay” and even the review about a sherif telling someone to stay here but he said you can’t trust anyone but the park rangers when it comes to camping. He was friendly, but made it clear not to camp here again.

We stayed on the road here for two nights....but police knocked on our door the second night and told us we couldn’t sleep here. Pointed us to the truck stop just N of town.

As described, a quiet gravel road with little pull offs every hundred metres or so. There was someone staying at the iOverlander pin drop, but we drove down the road a bit and found another spot. Quiet, dark, nothing special, but free and very close to park entrance and town of West Yellowstone. Good for a night or two. No amenities.

Un petit coin de paradis, le coucher de soleil est magnifique. Tranquillité totale. Trois autres VR sont parmi nous à plus de 100 mètres.

Little pull off of a gravel road. You can hear highway or gravel traffic in the distance but not too much after dark. I recommend if Yellowstone is full and you need a quick spot for the night
