A nice gravel road, we stopped where the pin takes you; a small pull off to the side with trees and an open field blocked by large rocks. We were able to have a fire. Couple other people in vans parked a bit further down the road. Good for 1 night. Near a gun range so you can hear gun shots in the distance in the evening but not at night.
Why? By checking in after you’ve visited a place you let others know this place is still functional. You can also add or correct any information.
There is a sign before this spot that says “day use only.” Also down a gravel road and hot and dry.
So I left And I’m heading to Bakers hole. Better spot, and in the trees which is nice. Only $20 at bakers 5 min up road.
It was a nice place to sleep for the night but in the morning a park ranger asked us to leave. We told him about iOverlander saying it was “okay” and even the review about a sherif telling someone to stay here but he said you can’t trust anyone but the park rangers when it comes to camping. He was friendly, but made it clear not to camp here again.
Report Check-Inaftet being towed away from Denny creek dispersed seems a good alternative. hope it stays quiet
Report Check-InRV truck pull out police officer told us he directs all RVs to camp here it’s free and safe.
Report Check-InThere is a sign posted “no vehicles behind sign” and that is where pin is
Report Check-InStayed two nights while visiting yellowstone during the days, no hassle.
Report Check-InSuper close to west entrance of Yellowstone. Not scenic. Easy road
Report Check-InWe stayed on the road here for two nights....but police knocked on our door the second night and told us we couldn’t sleep here. Pointed us to the truck stop just N of town.
Report Check-InAs described, a quiet gravel road with little pull offs every hundred metres or so. There was someone staying at the iOverlander pin drop, but we drove down the road a bit and found another spot. Quiet, dark, nothing special, but free and very close to park entrance and town of West Yellowstone. Good for a night or two. No amenities.

Report Check-InUn petit coin de paradis, le coucher de soleil est magnifique. Tranquillité totale. Trois autres VR sont parmi nous à plus de 100 mètres.
Report Check-InLittle pull off of a gravel road. You can hear highway or gravel traffic in the distance but not too much after dark. I recommend if Yellowstone is full and you need a quick spot for the night
Report Check-Inboondocking spot 2 min west of West Yellowstone
