THIS PLACE IS UNDER CONSTRUCTION AND CLOSED.

Water and ice fill up. $1.00 for 5 gallons, 10 pounds of ice for $2.00 20 pounds for $3.50.
Right behind the little shops, in a big parking lot.

Report Check-In

construction going on in this lot and the gate is closed

Report Check-In

This place is permanently closed.

Report Check-In

This place now has signs saying the lot is closed from dusk til dawn… and has a chain across it. Seems the town has cracked down this summer.

It looks like the original GPS coordinates for this listing are for a parking area on the left after you cross the bridge but that lot was blocked with a chain across the entrance, so we parked in the gravel lot next to Kiwanda Coastal Properties. It was right on the river. Almost directly across the street was an entrance to the beach, and off to the right as you enter the beach you can climb a sandy hill and get a great view of the ocean, from Bob Straub State Park over to Pacific City Beach. Bring a chair and watch the sunset. The lot isn't quiet by any means, trucks turning the corner there and passing through. We arrived at 6:30pm and left at 8am. Between those times about 6 people pulled in beside us to throw recyclables into the bins on the side of Kiwanda Coastal Properties, about 25 ft from where you park. Around 2am someone came to fish through the recyclables for cans and was quickly on their way. Harmless but a lil startling. There were no "No Parking" signs. Kiwanda Coastal Properties has a sign saying 24 Hour video surveillance, which I suppose is reassuring if true, and if you had a problem. I was awoken again by trucks passing through at 6am, hitting a bump in the road, and their work load bouncing loudly. I thought it was a knock on the door. We were the only ones there and no one bothered us.

I found the trash-in-tree guy not a big deal. I waited until night to park. He made a comment to me which I pretended not to hear. It was a quiet night. I'm glad I stayed here.

Report Check-In

This place is a nice spot. I unfortunately didn’t have the best experience. I was here on a Sunday. There were a few campers/trucks when I arrived, but plenty of room. As I was getting settled, a man who was in one of the trucks camping there started talking to a local woman VERY loudly outside of my van. He gave me a super weird vibe - talked her ear off and wouldn’t take a breath. He did the same thing to two other guys camping there that had their doors open. I ended up just holing up in my van. Had hoped to stay there another night, but won’t be back. It was clear that he’s been there for several days (he even hung a massive/full trash bag on one of the trees) and isn’t leaving any time soon. Also there were locals hanging out at a fire pretty late into the night. They weren’t being too crazy, but it was still not quiet until very late into the night. Can’t win ‘em all…

Near the beach. We were 8 campervans. This was little. Fishermen arrive early. The only place free here.

Report Check-In

Arrived to about 4 other vehicles. It’s quiet, feel safe. I hope all folks are kind to the space. This is a gem we have to take care of to stay in the good graces.

Report Check-In

Nice space especially when a storm comes in

Report Check-In

Nice view of the river and if you park all the way in the left corner you almost don’t see any houses. It was pretty quiet when I stayed. Good cell service. Beach is a short walk over the dune. It’s beautiful.

** There’s a lot of garbage and poop. I filled a whole garbage bag. So sad to see such a nice spot be littered by imbeciles! Please don’t leave a trace and if you can pick some up. **

Report Check-In

Nice spot, can be pretty tight parking.

Word of warning, if the salmon are running (they just started coming in around Sep 1), you WILL have many neighbors. Some may stay overnight, some may arrive at 2am, some a little later. You may also get blocked in.

All the fishermen we met were super nice and mostly quiet during "sleep hours".

Full bars AT&T. There's also a tavern on the other end of the bridge for good food and drinks, easy walking distance.

Report Check-In

Total gem! Found an amazing group of fellow travelers beautiful area fairly private. Definitely one to keep clean for other travelers.

Report Check-In

Excellent little spot right on estuary. Beach access across street has clean porta pots. Beach is 5 min walk. Nice little fire pit built by locals I'm assuming.

Report Check-In

Quiet night, I’m the only one here. Lots of weird trash for sure, but relatively level and quiet.

Report Check-In

Crashed here for a few hours. One RV there when we showed up, it was quiet enough and super convenient. Didn't get bothered by anyone. Felt safe.

Report Check-In

Good spot! Lots of fishermen, lots of firewood to make a campfire on the beautiful beach.
At night it was pretty quiet. There was one other family camping in the car.

Report Check-In

Very nice and quiet. Sharp left after the bridge. Good Verizon signal. Will stay here again.

Report Check-In

Very nice spot for self contained car camping. Beautiful view of the river and right across the street from the beach with port-a-potties nearby. Close to town and full cell service. Saw mama deer and baby deer walk by our spot and watched the sunset at the beach. Not a spot for tents or drawing attention since you are surrounded by houses and next to a road.

Report Check-In

Great spot on the river. The ocean is a block away. Road noise was minimal.

Report Check-In

Great spot. Quiet once the traffic died down. Close walk to small town and the beach right there.

Report Check-In

There are no signs stating no parking.

Room for about 4-5 vans, a single RV would selfishly take this whole spot.

right next to the river and bridge with some vehicle noise.

a few hundred feet from the beach.

Report Check-In

Loved this area! Over a dune & you are at the beach. Beautiful sunset ~ fishermen in the evening & morning but they were friendly folks.

Report Check-In

good place to spend the night. we are in an 24ft RV and was ok.
no fishermen's noise this morning (maybe because of the rain)
nice town too

Report Check-In

Great spot for one night. Minor traffic noise. There is way too much litter from prior users: LEAVE NO TRACE!

Report Check-In

We drove into this spot at about 9pm and were joined by a couple other vans. Nice flat gravel parking lot. We were undisturbed until about 5:30 am when all the people going fishing started to show up. Talking to a local, he said the lot tends to get pretty busy starting at 6am and is busy for the rest of the day. Ok spot if you don’t mind waking early during fishing season!

Report Check-In

Small, semi-hidden parking lot, seems to be busy with locals. We stayed 1 night with no issues, Verizon LTE works great here.

Report Check-In

This small parking lot is on the water with a pretty nice view (you’re staring at houses across the channel but it’s still really nice). There weren’t any signs that said we couldn’t park here and we asked some locals if they thought we’d be okay, and they said definitely! And they were right - no one bothered us, we just saw some deer feeding on the grass right outside our window.

It’s fairly hidden from the road, just go down the little dip in the driveway, and you’ll find it.
