We usually steer very clear around commercial campgrounds in Newfoundland because mostly you do not get much more than a gravel parking lot like site where your neighbor is just inches away from your vehicle. But not here at OCEAN VIEW PARK:
Get an unpowered site right above the beach (small campers only). Sites 6-10 are nicest and close to the facilities. The view on the tranquil bay and the islands is marvelous. These sites have a fire pit, water, a table and bushes separate the sites. Showers are very clean, common kitchen, more powered sites (unfortunately not half as nice) and walking trail nearby. Good kayaking in the bays. Even more quiet sites are on the eastern beach, ask for those as usually you will be given a site in the western bay.
Unpowered site / tent site is 20.-
Why? By checking in after you’ve visited a place you let others know this place is still functional. You can also add or correct any information.
un petit camping avec eau et électricité (25$) certain terrain face à la mer surtout pour les sans services.
Vraiment situé au bout du boutte !
The camping is closed for the season but the gate is wide open. Slowly we venture and see few cars, few locals are on the beach. Wow! The view is astonishing! We settle to have the best view. The owner Christina walks an hour later to great us and tell us that camping is free and that we could stay without any problem since the season is over. All amenities are shut down, toilets, water, electricity… garbage cans. So don’t litter and leave anything behind. Best place ever to ourselves!! Lucky, right?
Only problem the cellular communication, a single bar to our LTE.
Planned to only spend a day here but ended up liking it so much I added another day. Christina & Chrissie are great hosts at the campground. We chose spot 9 and backed in our 26’ class C. Spot 10 is supposed to be the most desirable b/c it has electricity and can accommodate bigger rigs but I though 9 was prettier. No one else around us so we had 8 and 9 to ourselves. Great hiking trails around, good walking along the craggy beach with the kids to look for starfish, crabs, and the like. Nice place for a campfire. And amazing for astronomy! Glover's cove nearby has a huge giant squid exhibit- again, great for the kids.
Report Check-InIt is as described. It is a city park and nicely laid out. The view from site 10 with break access is great. We stayed with truck and camper
Report Check-Inabsolutely astounding
old school
in spot 8, right on the water, quiet, out of the way, I may just chill here
