Quick border, even in July. Customs official on Albania side did not ask for vehicle insurance. We asked him about it and he told us to just go. We didn’t look for an insurance seller at the border, so we don’t know if it’s possible to get insurance here. In our 10 days in Albania, we were not stopped by police.
We don't have any photos of this place yet.
Why? By checking in after you’ve visited a place you let others know this place is still functional. You can also add or correct any information.
Easy crossing, 2 minutes. Make sure you have your green insurance card if from eu.
Report Check-InQuick border crossing on both sides. However we were not stamped out of either North Macedonia or Albania! Bought Albanian insurance from a small white cabin just after customs. Friendly man, cost €15 for 15 days for our 125cc motorcycle. Costs €20 for 15 days for bigger bikes (we think…the insurance guy quoted a couple different prices).
Report Check-InFast and easy boarder crossing from Nordmacedonia to Albania. Both sides checked Covid tests/vaccine certificate beside of passport and car papers. Albania broader police did not check greencard.
Report Check-InCrossed from Albania to Macedonia without any problems.
Earlier we were refused entry st the other border on lake Ohrid because our green-card is a printed scan (arranged insurance via email).
But at this crossing it was no problem (I asked before joining the que). They even joked about our (Thai) car-papers.
It was quit busy (Saturday morning) but it took all in all less than an hour.
Report Check-InWe passed the border on a Thursday morning in May (Newmazedonia to Albania) and it was very busy. Queing on Newmazedonia side was confusing, trucks and busses blocked the lanes. If everything runs fine you can just drive by the counters without leaving the car. Customs officiers on both sides were not friendly but correct.
