Absolutely fantastic campsite. Tell them you are an Overlander, the price is then reduced to $14pppn. Price for non-Overlanders is now $16pppn

Hot clean showers, clean toilets, huge clean kitchen area.

Big flat areas to park your overland vehicle on perfectly cut green grass.

Infinity pool with view of the Lake and Mountains. Bar with cold reasonably priced beer.

Fire pit that is put on each evening as it gets dark.

This campsite is quite luxurious, even at $16pppn it’s reasonably priced. (I'm not sure what people are expecting when they say this is overpriced)

There are permanent safari tents that look rather nice, not sure of the price.

We highly recommend a visit.

Road up is steep...

Figtree tours can arrange crater visits $200pp including pickup, breakfast and packed lunch. Can also pay on credit card for no extra fee.

Latest Check-Ins

Peaceful and quiet during rainy season. Super friendly staff. Amazing views. Top ablutions. Great experience

Report Check-In

Even though it’s a very nice and clean location with proper facilities an an incredible view on Lake Manyara I would not recommend this place as the costumer care really sucks.

IOverlander as written above are only accepted as those if they are coming with a foreign car! Cars registered in TZ are not accepted as IOverlanders!

Be aware that you can ONLY pay in CASH! No Credit Card, no Bank Transfer, no Mpesa!

As my gasbottle run out a night before I asked them to heat my coffee… they wanted to charge me 2,-$…

The staff is arrogant. Courtesy, helpfulness and flexibility seem to be foreign to them.

Report Check-In

Fantastic place, great view and great facilities. Definitely worth visiting.

Report Check-In

Everything below is correct. Very very nice place ! Except when they have big groups (last day we left cause 70 high school students came 😱. So you should really check if big groups are coming of not.

Report Check-In

pros: beautiful views, amazing pool, nice and clean ablutions, nice restaurant area to relax - quality of facilities is exceptionally good
cons: can get busy with tours, and if so, 3 toilets and 4 showers is not a lot, restaurant is expensive, staff does the job but is not super welcoming, we had laundry done (USD 10 per machine) but got it back with new stains

Report Check-In

Next level camping right on the doorstep of Lake Manyara. Up a hill so away from tbe road noise. Dedicated for camping. Also have fixed tents available. An incredible infinity pool looks over Lake Manyara. Amazing ablutions although may get overrun when big groups are there. Lovely restaurant with okay wifi when power is on.

Report Check-In

Beautiful campsite with stunning views over Lake Manyara and set on the side of the escarpement. Ablutions are great as is the communal kitchen which is used by campers and safari groups. Campers can also cook in their own campsite and there was a useful table and bench next to us when we were there. Restaurant is a bit expensive but the Chips Mayai is delicious and filling. Infinity pool sits right next to a huge gorgeous baobab and has lots of seating/loungers around to relax on.

Report Check-In

Yes indeed, a beautiful spot to camp. Owned by a Dutch couple with lots of green grass and excellent ablutions with power points. Nice pub and boma next to the stunning rim flow pool looking out over Lake Manyara. The site is used by several safari companies so may get busy and a bit crowded at times. The only downside is the lack of shade trees under which to fit a bigger rig or a smaller one with a RTT. Slowish wifi near the reception boma. 1.5 kms fair to good condition access gravel track from main road. As overlanders we were kindly given a reduced prrice of US$13 pppn..

More photos on our ig @thelandymission, feel free to message us for more info.

This is one of the most stunning campsites we found in Africa. Amazing view over Lake Manyara, pristine facilities, pretty good restaurant (albeit overpriced), bonfire with good ambience at night and infinity pool during the day.

It’s also a 3 minute drive from the gate to Lake Manyara if that’s of interest (although beware the international vehicle fee for Lake Manyara NP is exorbitant - for us it was prohibitive). Went into the town just below and got lunch and a haircut at the local barber instead 😅

This is a great stop on Tanzania’s Northern circuit. Wouldn’t miss it!!!

Report Check-In

A stunning campsite, as described previously. Good food, excellent wine (especially by comparison), friendly staff. If you call ahead and they say they are busy, believe them… There are only 4 toilets and 4 showers, which were shared between all 100+ campers last night.

Report Check-In

second time here, great camp site. Usually used by groups so it can get busy but it is big enough.
⚠️ They accept cash only! (USD , shillings or EUR)

Report Check-In

very clean and nice camping, awesome view, baobab, hot showers and a swimming pool. also a bar and restaurant there!

Report Check-In

Second time here. Still best camping of the area. Amazing pool and beautiful baobab. Food is very bad and expensive. We don’t eat here.

Report Check-In

Very nice Camp. Agree to the comments. New very clean shower and toilet. Nice view over the lake manyara.

Report Check-In

❤️❤️❤️❤️very nice Place . I like this Campsite

Report Check-In

beautiful campsite with tents, bar, restaurant and an infinity pool

Report Check-In

A really beautiful, well appointed and relaxing campsite in a perfect location for exploring the Northern loop. We stayed here twice while visiting Lake Manyara, Lake Natron and Lake Eyasi and also Arusha. It is a soft, springy, green grass campsite with lots of space, a superb infinity swimming pool, bar and restaurant and fabulous bathrooms. The staff are really helpful and friendly. The site is used by multiple safari companies but we did not find this a problem at all, it was nice to meet other people. The camp kitchen can be busy but again we have an overlanding vehicle so this was not a problem for us as we cooked at our truck. 13 USD pppn. Highly, highly recommend here! @a.truck.called.wanda

Report Check-In

A great and clean campsite.
All facilities are well maintaned.
Cost per night per person is 13 US$.
Firewood 5 US$ and if you like to do your laundry that is possible too.
A machine load is 10 US$.

Report Check-In

beautiful place but too guided many tours with a lot of people.

Report Check-In

Excellent facilities and beautiful views. But the campsite is victim of it's success: loads of guided tours come to camp here and they have no respect for other guests. From 4am they will start cooking and preparing their vehicles while chatting out loud. Communal kitchen is totally taken by those organised tours companies. Good Vodacom 4g (free wifi don't really work). BRING CASH! For whatever reason they don't accept neither credit card nor MPESA payments! 🙄

Report Check-In

Lovely campsite. Clean toilets, warm/hot shower, great pool with fantastic view. Washup area. Steep road up but worth it.
USD13pppn is compares well with other options

Report Check-In

Beautiful but crowded campsite! Lots of groups camp here. Communal kitchen is occupied by safari company’s and campsites are not private, showers where cold due to the large amount of people. Pool is beautiful located and view is wonderful.

Report Check-In

As the other reviews: great place to stay. Well maintained, superb facilities (hot water shower, western toilets, kitchen, pool, ...).

Stayed with a rooftop tent, not crowdy at all.

As overlander the price was 13$ pppn

Report Check-In

Very very nice campsite with an awesome view on lake Myanara. 5 stars ablutions and facilities. Infinite pool. Grassy and very well maintained site. $13 special price for overlanders.

Report Check-In

Amazing place, well run and a pleasure to stay in. Specual price for overlanders $13 well worth it. Close to ngorogoro entrance

Report Check-In

One of the best camping spots in seven months of traveling. Friendly staff, great flat camping area with a view, picknicktables, amazing pool. Probably the best spot before entering the National Parks. We visited twice!

Report Check-In

Little to add to the reviews below. Very green nice campsite and still 13usd for Overlanders. Very clean and comfortable abblutions with plenty of hot water. Wifi was working fine close to the restaurant. Food there is nothing special, takes quite some time to prepare and is not cheap.

Report Check-In

Great place, came back twice to stay again. View is amazing.

Report Check-In

Nothing to add to the previous reviews, you can’t get better than this really. Perfect grass, no thorns, fresh water and clean ablutions. Charges were 13 USD pppn for overlanders. You can rent a fire pit or a grill for 5 USD per night. They both come with firewood/charcoal.
FYI, you cant park on the grass unless you have a RTT. If you have a ground tent, your car has to be parked on gravel, then move your tent. A bit inconveniencing. Can get quite busy especially on weekends with tour operators.
There are safari tents on site that can be booked directly from the lodge, not sure of the price. Vodacom 4g network. There’s wifi but it’s very weak.

Report Check-In

Stunning views from one of best campsites I`ve been on my travels. Super well maintained, warm water, rain water shower, infinity pool, bar, WiFi, …

They charge 15 USD and it’s sooooo worth the money.

Report Check-In

Wow one of the best campsites we have been. All facilities are there and working properly. Highly recommend

Report Check-In

Nice setting and great ablutions! Can get noisy at weekends with day visitors but they left around 7pm. Plug sockets only at the bar. Paid $12.50pp with no negotiating.

Report Check-In

Spent 10 nights camping at Migombane. After this amount of time we really felt like we were part of the family. Great base location if you want to visit all of the parks. The food at the restaurant was good when we ate there. Beautiful views of Lake Manyara. The ablutions are great but make sure to get in before all the safari vehicles get back. Contact Jackson and Charls who have started their own private guiding company and can organize anything and take you anywhere +255 766 172 525

Report Check-In

Amazing campsite overlooking Lake Manyara. Campsite is terraced grassy area mixed with permanent tents.

Good toilets and showers with hot water and kitchen area.

Also have a restaurant and bar (USD2 per beer), restaurant food a bit overpriced for what it is. Amazing infinity pool available to everyone as well.

This place is a bit busy as the organised tour groups use it a lot and fill up the campsite, use all the hot water and take over the kitchen so try caml away from the kitchen and shower early to get warm water.

Paid overland price of 13USD pppn.

Nice if you want to meet other campers but can be noisy.

Report Check-In

Awesome campsite! Ablutions spotlessly clean and new. Hot hot shower. :) Gorgeous views to the Lake Manyara from the top where this little camp is located. Friendly staff. Great infinity pool. Spacious, even spots on grass to park your car. We paid $13/pppn. You can have great views from your tent. Restaurant’s food was not great. Otherwise, a great place!

Report Check-In

The campsite is still beautiful and comfortable, but the staff doesn’t have a clue about hospitality. Even worse than last time. With the Maasai as a friendly exception. They seems to consider their guests as a nuisance, disturbing their lazy lying around in the grass. That said it’s better than most other campsites in the Arusha area. The wifi is usually reasonable and the Vodacom reception is good.

Report Check-In

What a place. Absolutely fantastic. Green european grass. Infinity pool. A magic baobab. We loved to be there. One of the best campgrounds we had.

Report Check-In

A somewhat 'luxurious' campsite for a reasonable price . Especially if you're overlanding:)
Clean & comfortable ablutions and showers, cooking area, hot water.
No electricity points so we used our solar panels. Electricity points at bar so you can charge your devices.
A lot of birds to spot and photograph!
Weekends are busier.

Report Check-In

Beautiful green campsite with great view over lake Manyara. It can be a bit windy up here with a rooftop and we heared some noise from the village below. Fantastic pool! Very good new ablutions with solar shower. You can walk to Mto Wa Mbu to get veggies and other shoppings(quite a steep way up though.) The food in the restaurant is not really recommend. Friendly owners an they also organise safaris in the area: Ajabu adventures.

Report Check-In

As said before, amazing campsite and facilities. Yes it's a bit pricey but way better than Panorama Campsite (see our comment there). Beware however: only cash, no credit card facilities.

Report Check-In

Absolutely fantastic campsite. Tell them you are an Overlander, the price is then reduced to $14pppn

Price for non Overlander’s is now $16pppn

Hot clean showers, clean toilets, huge clean kitchen area.

Report Check-In

Very bad access road, 15$ per person too much, not negociable

Report Check-In

Very beautiful campsite with swimmingpool under an old baobab and a wonderful view over Lake Manyara. Clean toilets and showers. A good place to relax.

Report Check-In

Very nice views over the valley from the campgrounds, swimmingpool and bar area. Quality equipments. one of the best campings in Tanzania. But, victim of its merited success, it can be quite crowded and busy, especially at the end of the afternoon, limitating intimacy. Tour operarors' cooks and drivers being as usual not very respectful of the expected silence during night and early morning. And we were not there during high season... Not much shade.

Report Check-In

An epic view of Lake Manyara.

As previously stated, we were able to get the reduced rate for camping which is 12.50 USD pppn.

The campsites are grassy, however no trees and not particularly private.

Free wifi and pool access as well as fantastic ablutions and wash-up area. All worth the little extra paid per night. We were there 3 nights and it was quite busy all 3 days.

Report Check-In

Indeed a paradise. The reduced rate recently was raised to 12.50 USD pp. Connecting to electricity was a bit of a challenge, but they do have a long cable (although not everybody knows that).

Report Check-In

Migombani Campsite is just wonderful. Amazing pool with great view to lake manyara, wonderful area and clean bathrooms with hot showers. It costs 15$pPpn.
You should definitely come here. It's the best.

Report Check-In

This campsite has excellent ablutions, beautiful views over the lake, very friendly staff and a cosy bar with a small but good menu which is well prepared. A 5 star luxury campsite at reasonable rates.

Report Check-In

5 star campsite..with great views....15 usd pppn

Report Check-In

Incredible views and beautiful pool, really nice hot showers and the food is awesome (6-10us per meal). It is all very groomed and polished and somehow I feel it lacks some authenticity and personality, its all very ‘generic clean European standard’ but it has luxury for sure for a campsite. The communal kitchen is just sinks but great for some laundry although there is no washing lines or trees to hang your washing as its mostly green lawns, so not much shade. Nice to take a walk to the village past the river and smelly colonies of Yellowbilled Storks who nest in their thousands!

Report Check-In

Very special place. 10USD pppn. Glorious site, bar, pool, amenities clean, staff excellent.

Report Check-In

very clean and nice place. nice hot showers in the evening and early morning before everyone wakes up. nice pool and lawns the family thoroughly enjoyed. They don't accept visa though.

Report Check-In

What an incredible campsite/lodge. Entry diagonally opposite the main gate entrance of Lake Manyara Main Gate. This is a MUST for anyone passing. The service is incredible from the camp manager Willy and the bar/restaurant manager and every single staff member couldn’t do enough to make sure you’re happy. It has an incredible infinity swimming pool and views over Lake Manyara and a one night stop turned into 3 days and we had to force ourselves to move on. Fantastic ablutions. Truly brilliant and highly recommended.

Report Check-In

This place is a must! Our travel itenary in Tansania does not include any nationalparks because of the crazy vehicle fees! So if you are looking for nice places to enjoy on a budget go here. Amazing view from the pool (they clean every morning) on the Lake Manyara NP. First they also wanted to charge 15$ pp. but it was fine after showing that others paid less. Place is owned by dutch and they also have a tour company in Arusha... but still too expensive for Serengeti etc.
Even if we did not went to the NP close by it was worth to stay here!!!
Entrance is slightly before Lake Manyara NP Gate.

Report Check-In

As everyone else is saying, this is a lovely place not to be missed! It’s less than a year old and made specifically for overlanding trucks (those tour busses with 20 people on them) with a few bandas for other guests.

It’s spotlessly clean, have great outdoors kitchen with hot water in the taps(!) and a freakin’ infinity pool!

They hiked their prices up to 15 USD pppn, but came down to 10 when we asked them. Restaurant is good and prices are around 10 USD for a main dish (chipsi mayai for 3 USD).

If this is on your way, spend at least one full day here to just relax and recharge your batteries.

Report Check-In

As menthioned below outregeaous nice an well kept campsite..very clean abolution..lots of warm water..wonderfull pool overlooking the lake.
We camped here 4 nights 10$pppn/kids half=30$pn 👍
Bit windy and little shade.

Report Check-In

Friendly staff, good food, excellent pool and great facilities.

The most beautiful campsite so far (coming from the north). Very good ablutions, hot rain showers! Very nice infinity pool under a big baobab tree. Ultimate place to relax for a couple of days! Have a chat with Chris and Inge, they are running the place right now but are also overlanders. There is an overlanders discount, price is $10 pp.

Brandnew campsite. On the hill with a fantastic view over the Lake Manyara. Drink a beer under the big Baobab tree and enjoy the infinity pool with the view over the Manyara Nationalparc. Everywhere lawn for camping. Very nice and clean ablutions and a spacey cooking place. A lot to discover around the camp by foot. Danny the dutch owner is a very sympathic guy and make your stay to a unforgetable experience. Cost 12 $ pppn. Not cheap but definitely worth. Would say, this is one of the best campsites between Capetown and Nairobi.

Report Check-In

The best and most beautiful camping area in Mto wa Mbu, very nice view of the national park Lake Manyara, based half way on a platform of the Great Rift Escarpment. 5 acre of green grass, big swimming pool, good maintained buildings and clean, reservations +255 684 711 600.
