Description

Nice view of ocean with picnic tables and toilet. Busy during the day but very quiet at night. We were too high for the entry to the Municipal park, so stayed in the paved parking area below the lighthouse. The park attendant in the lighthouse, told us that there was a 3 night maximum stay.

Gravel lot on the water, picnic tables, trash receptacles, washrooms. We stayed last night and are planning to stay another night. Space for big rigs. We heard the fog horn in the middle of the night but not loud enough to disturb.

Report Check-In

Spent the night here along oath about 6 other campers. Beautiful view by the ocean, so many boondockers along this stretch of road. Pit toilets about 50m away, some benches to eat at too, and a bin.

Great spot to spend the night! 12 feet clearance to enter the parking. Very popular spot. We got here early to relax around 2pm-3pm and someone else was already settled in. By 6pm there was about 4-5 of us. Get here early if you want a spot. Very quiet parking, it was enjoyable.

très beau spot pour passer la nuit. la ville permets 3 nuits! du luxe selon moi. coucher de soleil extraordinaire. j'étais en camion avec une remorque, 38' total.

Report Check-In

Nice place, as described. Stayed with four Vans/RV‘s.
There is also a big picnic shelter, but it‘s not nice to sit inside. Would only use it on rainy days.

Report Check-In

Report Check-In

As others mentioned, great spot with gorgeous sunset!

We came early to hike a little before sunset and supper. By the time we arrived back at the MH, 2 other RVs had arrived and were setting up. Parking lot filled up for a beautiful sunset. A couple of other RVs showed up later… 5 here tonight! Glad we came early!

12’-9” clearance sign posted at park entrance.
3-night maximum stay in the Peninsula in an RV.
Would stay here again!
(Be early!)

John Cabot municipal park. This is a gravel lot at John Cabot’s statue, just south of the lighthouse. Beautiful views, pit toilets available, a couple of picnic tables. The night we stayed there were four campers, all smallish vans or trailers, but there would be room for larger vehicles and a few more could easily have fit. If full, there is another spot just across the road with different but also lovely views. The fog horn from the lighthouse could be heard but was not too disruptive. It was quite windy.

Amazing! C’est un peu venteux évidemment, mais il de la place pour tous! Les toilettes sont propres et il y a un abris pour manger sans vent.

Report Check-In

Good quiet place to stay the night (if you don’t mind the sound of birds) with lots of other campers around when we visited. Woke up to whales splashing about right by the rocks here!

This site is as described and in good shape for the 2022 season. We stayed one night and enjoyed a beautiful sunset and a fantastic meal of fried cod tongues from the little place beside the road to the south. Be prepared for wind.

Level gravel spot with great views of the water on both sides of the road. Walking trails along the coast to the edge of town or another up to the lighthouse. Great place to stay put and explore locally or as a base camp for the other attractions around the peninsula. Trash cans and pit toilets available. Good cell service. Restaurant within walking distance. Three night max as noted on sign on the road to this site. A few other campers each night that we stayed.

Awesome stop. Stayed near the bathrooms in the circular parking lot beside Cabot statue. Super quiet and beautiful sunset. One other van there overnight. Bathrooms very clean and convenient, also tons of picnic tables nearby!

Report Check-In

We stayed in the parking lot below the Cape Bonavista Lighthouse for 4 nights. The official stay is 3 nights anywhere outside of city limits, but I don’t think there is any enforcement. It was a fabulous spot with great views and it was a great experience. We used the car to experience the whole area.

Report Check-In

great place to stay. There was maybe one more vehicle here. 4 bathroom pit houses, very very clean which was great. In the morning very few people were coming to the park. Everyone was more going to the parking lot that was further north of here by the lighthouse.

Good parking and nice view.. Level and good for big rig.

Report Check-In

All alone at this time of year. Not much traffic as the turn around is at the lighthouse a bit farther on.

Report Check-In

Good campsite, quite at night, not too cold in the morning. Seemingly abandoned but the 4 wooden little outhouses have staffs keep the toilet paper and liquid soap filled - bring your own water though, and please remember to lock up and shut the toilet lid after use.
No whales, no puffins at this time.

Report Check-In

Stayed here 2 nights. We have a small boler type camper and were able to park down in the grassy area. We were able to unhook and leave our camper (with a hitch lock) and our solar panel out while we traveled the area. Two vans in parking lot first night, Alone second night. Lots of locals hiking through, all pleasant to us. Very windy but able to have fire in fire pits. Unbelievable stars, no whale sightings but puffins were on their island in Elliston. Clean pit toilets. Really loved this location, highly recommend it. Please use respectfully.

Report Check-In

Great place. Had two quite nights. Perfect place to see millions of stars at night since there is no other light source around except the lighthouse.

Otherwise known as Landfall Municipal Park.

Report Check-In

Gravel parking lot will fit a few rigs/vans and is more level than the grassy patch closer to the ocean. We had it all to ourselves. Nice sweeping views of the ocean. Lots of people pull in to watch the sunset, otherwise quiet once dark. This park is more hidden and off the road than the coordinates closer to the lighthouse.

Report Check-In

Good spot for a night. Open wifi at nearby lighthouse.

Report Check-In

Small park with picnic tables and pit toilets. Also a covered picnic area great for rain. Near lighthouse and a provincial park. Very windy and rainy when we were there and two other groups camped.

The free place to be !
Smaller vehicles can venture on the grass.
Water on both sides if you stay in the parking lot. Garbage cans and really clean pit toilets.

Report Check-In

Very busy on a Saturday night, seven other Class B and C Rvs parked. Parking lot is fairly flat and the lower picnic area can be driven to but the way in is grassy and rocky, but the view from there is a spectacular sunset view over the water.

Report Check-In

Nice view on ocean with picnic tables and toilet. Busy during the day but very quiet at night.
