Free campground | Informal Campsite

Solid free camp spot, went on a Saturday in June when most of the campgrounds in the area were booked up. 10 day stay, pit toilet, and decent Verizon service. No TP in bathroom but free is free! Some big potholes and rocks but nothing my 2wd truck couldn’t handle.

Don't look any further, this camping is great! Free, far enough from the road, pit toilet and beautiful spots under the pines. Close distance to Stanley, but no phone service.

Great spot. Camp spots are shaded by the trees but still road noise. The creek noise is there too but quieter. I walked a minute or two to a nearby paid camp ground to use the toilets and dump trash.

Cool campsite! numerous spots and FREE (unlike all the Redfish Lake spots). highly recommended for vans, truck capers, and rent campers. RVs can enter but might be tricky, or at least relegated to just a couple of spots in the front (no good turnarounds, no hookups). Fire rings exist but watch for a fire ban.

Entrance not signed, go slowly and keep eyes peeled! Lots of other free sites on this road also. Pit toilet available, spread out sites, some tent only and all near the river. Shaded from road by trees. No trash facilities or dump station so if you pack it in, pack it out! :)
