Latest Check-Ins

The restaurant/ice cream place that’s here has free wifi.

Report Check-In

Lots of signs stating no overnight parking, but we risked it and were not disturbed for a night. About 4 other vehicles also staying there overnight. Showers closed during off season.

Report Check-In

This place is permanently closed.

Report Check-In

Good spot for a night. Nice view and sunset, right on the beach!

Report Check-In

Long stretch of parking blocks right on beach walkway. Lots of signs staying no camping on backs of benches but we thought we'd try as there were several others. This time of year washrooms open 7 to 9. The change rooms were closed due to COVID. Open ShawGo wifi that works best closer to washrooms. Police came in the morning said NO camping and we could be towed. Maybe if you show up late and leave early .....

Report Check-In

Stayed overnight in the parking area parallel to the road at the north end of the beach. No signage there about no overnights. Quite noisy this time of year being right next to the road and the walking path

Report Check-In

Nice spot, with an amazing view. Public toilets (7am-7pm), and lots of picnic tables.

Report Check-In

Beautiful spot. Traffic slows right down at night. The place to stay in Qualicum/ Parksville.

Also, walk south down the beach during low tide and you’ll see a bunch of seals!!! A1 spot.

Report Check-In

Great place when you come from the ferry and want a stop before driving onwards. The first few parking spots have a ‘no overnight parking sign’ on the benches. We saw vans staying there nonetheless. If you want to live by the rules, drive a bit further down the road and pass the Shore café. You will see parking sports that are parallel with the coast (the first prohibited ones are angled). Those parallel do not have any sign, and still close to toilets.
Enjoy a swim, watch the sunset, have a snack or drink at the café. But foremost, keep decent. Clean up trash, don’t pitch your tent on the grass. The place will only remain available if visitors keep low-key.

Report Check-In

Great place right on bay. Grassy area with picnic tables. Lots of cars during day but quiet at night and though there are no overnight parking signs here we were not told to move.

Report Check-In

Saw the no overnight parking/camping signs (they are on the back of all the benches) but decided to risk it after reading all the reviews. There were easily 5 or 6 other vans staying the night too.
Great spot with beautiful views... but for anyone else that is stealth camping without a proper camper van (or without window coverings) there are quite a few street lights in this area!

Report Check-In

Despite signs on the benches, we slept on our van along with 3 other campers and were left alone. Traffic wasn't too intrusive. Free shower with warm water too!

Report Check-In

Great free site. As others have pointed out there are ‘no camping overnight’ signs but only really around the area where the shower/toilet block was. Stayed here 2 nights, no one enforced the no camping. Plenty of others doing it too. Great view as the sun went down. Can be a bit noisy with cars driving down the street but still slept like a baby.

Report Check-In

Arrived late at 1am from ferry. Saw one camper. Didn't see the "No overnight parking signs" until the morning. Saw the groundskeepers emptying the garbage in the morning, but they didn't say anything otherwise. Left at 8am-ish. Stayed in a minivan.

Report Check-In

There are no camping or overnight parking signs up. We risked it and were fine. There were a few others that stayed overnight as well.

Report Check-In

No overnight parking now.... And I know the reason...when the place is free you have to be respectful with the neighborhood...I see people with there tent!!! I see people taking much place for there camping stuff... And the best one... A guy filming people that doesn't want them there...he was very mad to him... PLEASE be respectful and we can keep the other places!

Report Check-In

There are signs now that forbid overnight parking! I didn't take the chance.

Report Check-In

No camping or overnight parking signs just posted this week. No longer a spot

Report Check-In

nice spot to stay for 1 night. Very clean and new washrooms. Stayed there with 4 other campers. Bit noisy due to traffic. Anyway, a ranger told us that the parking spots should not be blocked by campers to keep free parking during the day. Had not to pay though.
Just try to not block the parking spots during the day.

Report Check-In

View-wise one of the best spots on the island. Many locals stroll along the beach. However, the road is very noisy the whole day and night. There were about 15 other vans and RVs parked along the beach for the night. Toilets close at 8pm.

Report Check-In

It’s quite loud here bc of the street behind the lot; but you can stay here without noproblems. The view is absolutely beautiful.

Report Check-In

warm showers, clean facilities, lots of room, beach, picnic tables, quiet at night

Report Check-In

stayed here 2 nights and was absolutely happy about all the free facilities! washrooms and warm showers were super clean and for FREE, just right at the parking lot. saw sunset and sunrise.
would totally recommend to stay here.

Report Check-In

Stayed two nights in our campervan with absolutely no problem. The beach and sea are gorgeous and you get some stellar sunsets. Toilets are brand new and open 8am - 8pm with a drinking tap inside and the taps get warm if you want a quick strip wash.

There are showers on the opposite side of the block but they’re shut for the low season (1st Oct - 1st June).

Only downside is that you’re quite close to the road (there are deeper parking bays on one side of the cafe near the toilets) and that road is very busy during the day until 12am and again at 5am.

Report Check-In

Vue sur l'eau, toilette super propre, table à picnic. Seul bémol un peu trop proche de la rue alors un peu de bruit.

Report Check-In

Good spot for a night. The traffic was quite noisy but compensated by the beautiful ocean view to wake up by. Washing room completely renovated and just reopened, so all very clean!

Report Check-In

Very nice and clean facilities. Brand new washrooms and shower. Hope this place does not get vandelized and be kept clean.

Report Check-In

nice parking just in front of the sea. Bathroom open daily, very clean, cold shower on the beach, few picnic table. Really nice place to stay for the night, a little bit noisy during the day but quiet during the night. We are not the only one to stay there to sleep.

Report Check-In

Beautiful parking lot right on the oceans edge, picnic tables and grass area. Highway is a little bit noisy during the day but fine at night! We stayed here for a night with no hassles! Also if you have a Shaw open account you get free wifi! That’s living barry.
