Description

Seasonal closures, see checkins for details
Busy place right on the lake. Pretty clean and well-kept (didn’t try the clean Porta-Potty's as I have one in the van). Free; max days 14. LOTS of people mid-week, some who seem to stay awhile. Stayed here one night, didn’t notice any no camping signs. Provided and maintained by Tacoma Power. No camping in parking lot. gate closed seasonally

Report Check-In

Came back to this place for a second day.
Really nice spot by the lake, with view on the mountains.
Multiple portable toilets. Fire rings made of stones.
Network available with AT&T and Verizon for sure.

Report Check-In

Such a gorgeous spot, but unfortunately does seem like a few people living here and lots of trash left in the fire pits. But plenty of space and basically right on the lake. 14 day limit sign posted at the entrance. FREE.
Little-no cell service with Verizon but Starlink works great. Lots of coyotes heard howling at night.

Report Check-In

Stayed a night here. There were clean bathrooms on site. It was a bit noisy and some noisy people seem to be living here but I felt safe nonetheless. The site has some gorgeous lake and mountain views. I would stay again.

1 Bar Verizon
Plenty of sky for solar and starlink

Report Check-In

open. only partially closed. open until Nov. 30

Report Check-In

no camping in parking lot. gate closed seasonally

Report Check-In

Much space that’s true, but Verizon doesn’t have signal :(

Report Check-In

Not enough Verizon signal for a zoom call... if THAT'S what you're wondering.

Report Check-In

Stayed here for two nights. It’s not super clear if it’s allowed or not. For the parking lot i would say it’s 100% allowed for 14 days. For spots closer to the lake it depends on how you read the signs. A lot of people camping at the lake who seemed to be locals. They played loud music and some looked like they’re staying for longer. Traffic goes in and out the whole day.

Report Check-In

Wa are camping here! Clean porta potty’s. Free max das 14. Provided and maintained by Tacoma Power.

Report Check-In

Big campsite. Quite a few people camping here. Some for longer it seems. No barrier. Haven't seen any 'no camping' signs when I arrived at nighttime. They might exist. Many fireplaces.

Busy place right on the lake. Pretty clean and well-kept (didn’t try the bathrooms as I have one in the van). LOTS of people mid-week, some who seem to stay awhile. Stayed here one night, didn’t notice any no camping signs and the lady I talked to said the limit was 14 days.

Report Check-In

I don't understand how people are staying here. there is no camping allowed where you can get to, and further than that is gated off with a sign from November if 2019, saying it is closed until further notice.

Report Check-In

There was a gate and a sign that said it is closed until further notice since November of 2019. I think they are planning some kind of renovation project.

Report Check-In

As described by others, except we had no problem with unfriendly campers. A little loud, as is expected at a busy place. Two portable toilets, serviced at 6am on Friday morning. No shade. Dusty. Great water access - most people had kayaks/paddle boards or were fishing. Better water access here than the $35 campground down the road in late summer, where their boat launch is closed because lake levels are too low.

Report Check-In

No camping signs in several areas. 8 hour parking limit.

Report Check-In

Beautiful view on the lake. Lots of place, there are effectively many others, some less friendly than others.

We choose to stay without interacting with anyone (we normally like to get in touch with others). We had a nice time.

Report Check-In

The reviews and pictures of this spot looked promising and we were excited for a fun night on the lake. However, when we arrived we were met with people who were obviously living there and seemed to not like our presence. We were stared at and flipped off and eventually moved to a turnoff up the road with a few other vanners who felt the exact same way. Beautiful spot, scary people.

Report Check-In

Big open gravel’ish area for camping with a 14 day limit. Swimming in lake is great. One outhouse in day lot but otherwise no privacy for using portable toilets outside vehicles.

Report Check-In

A great little place with a 14 day limit. It is called Cowlitz Wildlife Area. There is one potable toilet. Suitable for rigs in first large parking lot. Smaller high clearance beyond that.

Fantastic place at Riffe lake. Several spots but you are not alone. No toilets or facilities. Tent and big rig friendly. Close to the street.
