Can't recommend, ablutions in a state, no staff,security or amenities. @ R150 pppn. Left & went to Oranjerus.

Surprisingly nice campsite that is basically in town. 150 mtr walk to the spar.
There is a Braai place, power, dustbin and water just at your campspot - very convenient - with a nice river view.
.
The bathrooms need more regularly cleaning, especially at the weekends when lots of day visitors come and go onto the boat.

So it can get quite busy.

You hear the traffic from the bridge, always a bit of noise.
Watch the monkeys, they sleep on top of you in the palmtrees.

Still 150 pppn.
Not the best place (because of the not so clean bathrooms) but definitely okay.

Good campsite that feels like Europe a bit. Most spots are flooded at the moment. Ablutions are simple but good enough. Sympathetic owner. Lots of small bugs day and night because of the river and marsh environment. At the last spot you can access free wifi from the neighboring restaurant which, by the way, sells good pizza and draught beer at the deck on the river, accessible directly from the campsite. We paid 150R ppn.

Very convenient campsite as it is right in town. On the Orange River. Facilities are OK. Shaded sites, power and a pool. Everything works but can do with update. Samuel is very helpful and friendly. We paid R150 per person per night.

Like in previous descriptions. Nice place by the river! Grassy spots. Ablutions fine, hot shower. The dog is so sweet! Price 120 rand pp.

It's a nice place to stay but the owners don't really care about your staying. The caretaker is who does everything there and sometimes he's just too busy. I've been here for two days and electricity was out the whole time. They could have at least offered a discount but as I said they don't care much. Settings is beautiful though. 120pp

Nice place in Upington, close to restaurants, shopping, repairs and service. Bobo guards your vehicle all night! Clean ablutions and power.

Great place with very nice owners. Unfortunately at risk of being closed down because the hotel owner next door has other plans with the grounds.

Like the rest of the comments! Super nice place! We think best option for the price and better than the rest of the guest house in the town (no hostels apparently). Toilets ok! Hot shower perfect!! 120ppn!! Brais, ducks and quit night!! Orange River next to u!! Enjooy before crossing to Namibia!!

Nice place on the river. Quite, nice staff. Abulutions are okay but dated.
We spoke with locals and this is the safest side of the area to stay instead of cross the water.

All as others have said. A little steep at R120 pppn but very nice, with pool, and Theo was lovely.
Only negative was the limited scullery/washing up facilities, but that’s easy to work around!

Nice place along the Orange River 240R per night for 2. The road is not far but there is not too much noise during the night.

beautiful view on the river but noisy because of the road. grassy pitches. hot and clean shower. no wifi, no bar, no restaurant, no pool. you are in the city center so useful to do shopping. now 120 per adult, 80 per child. the cruise of 2 hours to see the sunset now 120! friendly owner who likes speeking ;-) we feel safe:they have a dog and the gate is closed during the night.

A very nice & green place. A boat trip with Sakkie on the Orange River is a must. One of the best restaurants in South Africa (Le Must) closed. :'(

Superb location right at the riverfront, nice and quiet. Grassy sites with braai and powerpoints. Good ablutions, hot showers. It's about to be sold, so not sure what's gonna happen with the place. R 110 pp. LOVELY DOGS as well!

Cost R 220 for 2 people . Very steep access slope.. Right on river front . Lots of day visitors on weekend. Hot water in showers. Friendly staff & guard dogs .

Lovely grassy place directly at the river. So nice we stayed 2 nights. We did the sunset cruise (R100 pp and cheap drinks on board!) which was nice - take your swimsuit along for jumping off the boat at sunset! Cost: R110 pp
