iOverlander cannot verify if wild camping is permitted at this location. It is your responsibility to verify local laws or obtain consent before staying the night.
Huge place of grass, some trees and montaigns surronding. No one around when we were there ( low season) might be more crowded in high season because the waterfall is really close ( 15min by foot) and impressive! You can still hide with trees...No need 4×4 but about 4km of gravel road to get there.
Why? By checking in after you’ve visited a place you let others know this place is still functional. You can also add or correct any information.
It is still possible to stay on the terrain. We needed 4wd to enter the field beceause of a ditch between the field and the road. Nice walk to the cascade.
Report Check-InWe try to hide a bit in the forest with car, but always a litle bit seen from the road. Many options to hide in forest with tent.
Even during pandemic curfew a bunch of idiots came in the midle of the night to party hard :(
But except this, very nice place with cows and horses. Lot of locals during day. Motocross riders during day (loud)
We came for one other night here and a farmer came in his pickup truck to collect his cows and asked us with smile if we are going to camp here. We said yes and he just tell us not to make a fire, waved and left.
Nice field in between mountains to spend the night. 2 other cars around, still very quiet. Around 9:30am man came up to us saying it is private ground, but didn’t seem to care that we stayed there the night.
Report Check-InIncredible place, full of grass and cows in the morning.
You will definitely have a good time there.
Nice spot, quiet and lot's of space! We stayed one night, slept in our rooftoptent. You can find shady places, even for vans. Two other couples put up there tent. One family picknicked and left again. No motorcrossing while we stayed here but there is a trail indeed. In the late morning a farmer came by. He told us that it is private property. But it is okay to stay here as long as you don't leave ant garbage.
Report Check-InHuge space to set tents or park cars, close to the waterfalls. The access to the water is not so easy.
We spent 3 nights there but the last evening, a guy told us that is was a private property and we were not able to stay there so be careful!!
As mentioned below, large open meadow with several clumps of trees in the middle and some level areas tucked into the trees.
We spent 2 nights here and had a couple other overland groups share it with us on each night. Quiet and with a pretty great view.
There’s a motocross trail around the perimeter and we saw a few people riding it during the day. They all waved and didn’t seem to mind us camping nearby. Don’t skip the waterfall you can walk to from here. Really cool root system you climb down to get to it.
Report Check-InStayed here one night. Very easy to find, just follow the signs on the gravel road to Salto del Claro.
Lovely flat open field. Bit exposed if you’ve got a rooftop tent/ big rig, we parked behind a clump of bushes just to be a little less visible from the road. Plenty of cover in the trees if you just have a tent. Gorgeous mountains behind you and the lake on the opposite side. Very quiet, only noise was the waterfall and the occasional car passing on the road. We didn’t see the owner when we were there.
On y a dormis 4 nuits et l'endroit est vraiment agréable. Assez protégé des intempéries, il y a des chevaux, plein d'espace et une cascade impressionnante à 5mn.
Report Check-InWe spent 3 nights there and it is a beautiful spot. Very quiet, we could see cows and horses coming close to our van during the day. The waterfall is a must see.
Report Check-InWe tucked our 4wd away behind some bushes and had a quiet night here. No one else around. We did hear a car come in after dark and saw a flashlight shining around, but I guess they decided not to stay.
As suggested, the waterfall is worth a visit! Costs 2000 CLP for adults, unless you visit before ~10 am (before anyone's there). Steep and muddy path after a few days of light rain.
Report Check-InStayed here for 2 nights in high season. we were alone. Cows and birds greeting us in the.morning. we met the friendly owner of the property and he sayed it is OK to camp here, but take your rubbish and don't make a fire. the waterfall is a 15 minute walk and costs 2000 pesos per person. We were very early and there was nobody at the booth.
loved this spot !
Amazing camping!!! Highly recommended! In the morning the cows will wake you up it is lovely and also very near to the waterfall which is really great and free.
Report Check-InWonderful stay, 2 nights. Had Overlanders here both nights (although the second night we brought some with us!) The cows and horses are friendly.
Note to anyone wishing to stay here - do not try and sleep anywhere visible from the road. The owner of the private land doesn’t mind people staying here but doesn’t want it to turn into a campsite, so stay in the trees. We parked in two different sites.
Report Check-InGreat place to sleep in Pucon away from the city. Lots of flat space. The waterfall is definitely worth a visit.
Report Check-InPerfect place, very tranquil. Parked close to the forest edge for some protection. Woke up in the morning surrounded by curious cows. Hike to the waterfall is possible but only by a steep path.
Report Check-InBeautiful flat grassy area surrounded by trees. I would definitely recommend a night or two here while in Pucon.
Nobody else around on a Saturday night in November.
Excellent place, surrounded by beautiful trees and grassy plains. All you hear is birds and a waterfall in the distance. Very quiet with only a few people visiting. It is close to the Pucon town (10 mins drive). Gravel track up is fine even after rain for a few days. Big rigs no problem.
