We had a great stay and good conversations

Report Check-In

Luis is so accommodating and very welcoming! He immediately helped me park my truck and trailer in his beautiful gated yard. Such interesting conversation over a few days here and he is very knowledgeable about traveling in Central America. I was so grateful to land in such a nice, safe spot!

Report Check-In

We send Luis a text in WhatsApp to ask if we could park at his spot for two days. It was no problem and he was a great host with tons of stories. We picked up some family at the airport the next day, which is a short Uber ride to the airport. He also has some cabins which he rents for a good price.

Luis helped us buy a 4x4 and built a bed in it. He welcomed us in his beautiful place and gave us a place to sleep. He and Gaby are such wonderful people with a kind heart. They have great advice and so many stories to tell! Staying there will show you how welcoming Ticos can be.
Space for several cars/vans, bathroom with shower, electricity and wifi.
We are very grateful we crossed path and got to know Luis and Gaby. Thank you so much for everything ❤️

Please note it's not a campside! It's more a place where you can go if you need help with your car or buy/selling a car etc. Luis can give you some advices. Luis is friendly and very helpful. We droven by and asked if it's ok to stayed for one night and they agreed. Luis recommend us a garage for changing our brakes. You find the garage on ioverlander (todo en frenos).

Report Check-In

We asked one day before if we could spend one or two nights (by WhatsApp)
He red our questions but didn't answer.
THANK YOU VERY MUCH MR. NOT SO NICE OVERLANDER.

Report Check-In

We had met Luis in Guatemala when he was travelling himself and he invited us to stay at his property once we made it to Costa Rica.
So we WhatsApped him after crossing the border from Nicaragua and he welcomed us to his place for as long as we wanted.

Luis has an interesting property with many amenities and projects going on. He is a great guy, helpful and has a lot of stories to share.

We stayed for 5 days to do some work on the truck and had a good time.

Report Check-In

At the moment this place is no longer available until the Corona crisis is over!
For Luis it is really hard to say no to all the overlanders but since he has heart problems he is in the risk group for the virus and doesn't want to expose himself or the other people living on the property to the potential risk, when people coming in and out.

Report Check-In

It was a group of 3 of us and we had a malfunctioning blow up mattress so Luis let us use a double bed he had in a apartment he’s in the process of doing up for the night - FREE! Such a nice guy, lots of advice and stories.

Excelente lugar !!

It seemed to be a perfect place, but someone who rent a house inside this place said us the owner has heart attacks Last days. He said to her he was not sure if he could continue to welcome people her. He was not there so we prefered to continue our way. You can try to come here but be sure to have an other plan 😊

Luis and his wife Gabi are super lovely and bery generous hosts who welcome overlander in their home. They offer all facilities (toilets, electricity, wifi, water) and so much more! Also he built a second gate to enter the compound with no height restrictions anymore, so good news for all truck camper like us!
Right now Luis is building a couple of affordable rooms all over the garden in the style of a little wild west village which he will rent to those who‘d like to have a break from their vans/campers/tents.
They both travel a lot themselves and are very knowledgeable about the countries in Central and South America!
Thank you both for providing your place to the overlander community!!

Luiz, Gabriela and Gab's mother, Hilda, nos receberam como da família. Passamos dias muito tranquilos aqui, com muito verde, animais, as crianças se divertiram muito na piscina! Tudo bem à vontade.

What a great place ! The owner Luis is so generous and nice, we are so glad we met him. Beautiful property with wildlife and swimming pool. It was a pleasure to park with our van a few days. Free park.

NICE, CLEAN, SAFE, NO CHARGE.

This guy is just incredible. Super inspiring.

Notice: this is NOT a established campground! Luis and his wife Gabi kindly welcome overlanders on their private property. You may use the pool and the private bathroom in their house. Behind the pool is a toilet which you can use at night. Luis is the nicest person and very helpful, we spend three nights and had a really good time. Not for big rigs, we are 2,90m high and barely fit through the gate.

Luis and Gaby are such great people! We arrived at the Para Van campsite but couldn't get in because no on was there, they offered to let us camp in their garden. We could use their swimming pool, Wifi and they gave us access to their bathroom where we could have a hot shower. There is a small kitchen area with a microwave and fridge/freezer but we ended up eating dinner with them. Don, their Canadian tenant even did our laundry for us. And we didn't pay anything! They have a lot of experience travelling the Americas in a van and motorbike and they just want to help fellow travellers. They are happy to have more overlanders come (as long as you can fit through their gate)and they are full of information on places to see and how to get around. They are on facebook under 'Aventuri Ticos.,
