Description

Family run cabana rental right on the beach, open air restaurant with a great cook and fresh seafood. Room for tents and a few small campers. Very nice people, palm trees and white sand. Swimming hampered by the Saragossa seaweed sometimes, a nice swimming lagoon 4 km north of it (and room for wild camping at that spot). 125 pesos/person is steep but we stayed for 5 days anyway and loved it.

Very nice place directly at the beach. They offer pre-erected tents or cabañas, we was here with own tent and small van. We payed 257 MP per person and night. Very clean bathroom and showers, small restaurant. The village with bars and restaurants nearby 10 minutes walk along the beach. Highly recommended!

camping and glamping spot just north of "downtown" Punta Allen. fairly full despite covid level orange restrictions, families one night and hipsters the next.
camping area and ocean view are wonderful, but the sargassum and trash took away from the idyllic setting.
the road down from Tulum is in bad shape after the hurricanes in October, full of potholes. we took 3 hours to drive about 40km.

Punta Allen is cute but pretty quiet due to pandemic, not much open for business.

if you want to tent or van camp for free, there are many options past the town all the way to the lighthouse 2km south .

We checked out a few places in punta Allen and this is where we ended up. 200 pppn for tent camping right on the beach. 4 toilets and 4 showers which were clean and new. There was a sink, grill, and tables and chairs for food prep, tho we mostly cooked out of our trunk kitchen. They rent out tents and cabanas too, tho it never feels too crowded, which was nice because this town is definitely on the map now.

spend the new year here! absolutely calm... perfect! the place is amazing, energy just in the restaurant, you may have to have a log cable to plug in... The place is new, hot showers, but water fully salty...

the owner has changed fife month ago. The name is nomore 'costa del sol', now new 'Cielo y Selva'. They are changing a lot - restaurant and bar will be finished next year. Nice cabañas allready possible to rent, even tents. Campers are welcome (paid 300m$/night). Friendly and clean.

Report Check-In

They did not let us camp here, only “glamping” in their preset tents or rent a cabaña.

Only paid 150 pesos for our rig which was pretty good! Wifi was ok when the power is on. We had rough weather so couldn't swim on the beach, but hung out in the hammocks they have strung up on the beach. Showers are cold but was nice to get clean.

$350 per night for 2 adults, 1 kid in pop up truck camper. Electric hookup included, clean bathrooms with paper and seats. Cold shower. Restaurant on site with very friendly staff. Nice grounds with tables and hammocks nestled in the many palm trees. Short walk to the town. Only con so far is the faint smell of sewage that wafts by occasionally, but we smelled that everywhere on the drive down, so perhaps the season? Also lots of sea grass / sea weeds in the water all down the coast from south of Cancun making the water not so inviting. Perhaps seaweed season as well? Nice strong Breeze.

As stated before, room for tents and a few small campers. Very friendly owner and staff. Didn't try the restaurant. Beach and water were beautiful. They asked $10us (180 pesos at the time) for two people in a truck camper. Hot water showers and clean bathrooms (with toilet seats!!). We love this place and stayed for five days. Would definitely stay again.
