At this place (papeleria & abarrotes San José, red building) they sell gaz in 10L, 20L, etc. I don't know if they have diesel. Of course the price is higher than in a Pemex but it does the job! Lots of people come here and staff is so sweet.
If heading south, next "real" gaz station is in Pochutla. There are few places like here that sells gaz along the road if you forgot but better to fill up here.
If going north (Oaxaca), we were told the next gaz station is in about 30 minutes.
In both case, when leaving San José you are driving down the mountains so you won't use a lot of gaz but lots of breaks. It's good to feel safe anyway. Go visit the other towns around with that extra gaz!
We don't have any photos of this place yet.
