Description

A quiet and remote car park maintained/owned by the National Trust. Ideal for overnight stays in a camper/van, and for trail access to nearby Pen y Fan (~6m). Surrounded by conifers, waterfall, and hills of the Brecon Beacons, it's a lovely spot for nature, solitude and stargazing.

There is room for some 25 cars, but is seldom full outside of peak season. There are no amenities of any kind aside from a few picnic benches. A nearby waterfall might tempt some for water, if needed (take typical precaution). Poor/no phone signal. It's the type of spot to unplug.

Latest Check-Ins

There are some small 'no tents' signs to indicate no camping but no real other signage like in other national parks, so we spent the night. After the hike a warden knew we were here overnight and gave us a friendly warning that there is no camping in any of the national park car parks. Assume this also means some of the unofficial car parks up the road with no signs (eg at taff trailhead) but you might be OK there.
