Camping and small cabins after the balneario, they charged us 25pp for camping and 50 for cabañas which we bargained down a bit. Fire pit and flush toilets. Two small swimming pools right in front of river. Was quiet and nice for a night. Dont need to pay the 10qtz entrance if going there.

A heaven place! Two pools and a river and plenty of space to camp. There are tables and chairs. Best place to skip the awful heat!
Report Check-InWhat a wonderful peace of haven. Everything as descripted, still 25pP. The place is run by a very warm and welcoming family. The pool was cleaned when we arrived and filled with river water. But we preferred the river though, deep enough for swimming. Great place for a couple of days to escape from the heat.
Report Check-InLove this spot! Camping 25Qpp, and there is one cabin which was 250Q. Very very beautiful. Open grassy area next to blue river. Also pools and an open shower. There’s a covered area with tables and electricity and outlets. The people were very nice and I would totally stay here again.
Report Check-InVery Nice place near river and Nice /clean swimming pool. Clean toilet. Cold shower outside. It was very hot so we enjoy swimming pool. Not too much mosquitoes at this season
Report Check-InBelle place où passer la nuit. 1 km de route en terre avant d’arriver à El Refugio. Ça se fait avec un motorhome 24 pieds. 25 qtz par personne, les enfants sont moitié prix. Toilettes propres. La douche froide est extérieure, sans intimité.
L’endroit est magnifique. La rivière est couleur émeraude. Lieu idéal pour se baigner.

Nice place to spend the night. 1 km of dirt road before arriving in El Refugio. It is done with a motorhome 24 feet. 25 qtz per person, children are half price. Clean toilets. Cold shower is outdoor, without privacy.
The place is beautiful. The river is emerald color. Ideal place to swim.
Nice place! We paid 25Q pp indeed. There’s a pretty river, a lot of birds and flowers around and then two (not that well maintained) pools. Clean, flush toilets, running water and also electricity to use under palapas and in the toilets. Cold shower (non private) next to the pools. People here are very nice and it’s super calm and peaceful at night.
IMPORTANT INSTRUCTIONS: use maps.me and not google maps to get here! You have to turn off the main road at the sign for the balneario. Google maps doesn’t have that road. It’s a gravel road that is doable for a 2WD, but it’s slow going. Only a bit more than 1km though until you reach the place. Before you reach it there will be a metal rope with a sign of the admission of the balneario. You don’t need to pay that (because you’re going to El Refugio). You might have to open the rope yourself.
Report Check-InStopped by to check it out for possible camping in the next couple of days. It's far more attractive than I expected with a big grassy lawn for tent camping, or you could park a van or RV here. Unfortunately, I did not stay as it was midday and I was on my way to Coban.
As reported, the pools aren't particularly clean. They're almost certainly filled with river water. They are safer and probably warmer than the river itself.
Carlos pointed out the bathrooms; there are a couple of covered areas for eating and socializing. He told me no food or drinks are available, so come prepared.
Really cool place. I wish it had fit into my schedule better.
Report Check-InGreat place! Very lovely people indeed and the kids loved to play with our dog. We were tired when we arrived and didn't check the price. They wanted 150Q for two nights for two people, but when we asked how much it was pppn he couldn't figure it out and decided it still was a 100Q total (25Q pppn). The pools are finished but were just as 'clean' as the river when we visited.
Report Check-InBeautiful camping spot directly by the jade colored river where you can swim perfectly. The owner is super friendly and gave us some information for semuc champey. He and his mum even gave us some coffee and cookies :) price per person per night 25 Q. Flush toilet. Two big pools by the river in the making, cabin available. The people around are super friendly. Very very quiet, a lot of birds to watch.
Report Check-InOnly planned one night, but it was so nice we stayed too. Very quiet, beautiful location. Friendly village with limited shops and limited Spanish too. Claro signal if you walk up the hill.
Report Check-InLovely spot, refreshing water, paid 25Q pp for camping, no height restriction, toilets and outside shower.
Report Check-InWe stayed here for a night, really lovely family - we played with the 2 young sons for ages. Large flat grassy area perfect for camping. It’s right next to the beautiful river which is perfect for swimming in. Excellent clean toilets and 2 swimming pools. 25pp
