Description

MODERATOR NOTE: iOverlander does not allow general road reports, unless the road is NOT passable, and results in a reroute of 2 hours or more.

We made it to this point and construction workers had us turn around due to landslide.
Now open but be cautious.

Latest Check-Ins

This is obviously an ongoing problem. Passed through today. There was signs of recent mud slide. But still passable with caution. Once again, it will depend on rainfall amounts.

Report Check-In

Road cleared and passable by any vehicle. No construction to be seen when we passed.

Report Check-In

The road is no longer blocked, although work is still being done and you will have to pass over a steep single-lane dirt track where the landslide was. We passed on a Sunday, so we cannot speak to the work being done during the week. East of the landslide you will also have to pass over a small, shallow river crossing. 4X4 NOT necessary. Otherwise, the road is your typical, potholed Guatemalan road.

Report Check-In

Still blocked. This road is not an option to go to lago atitlan.
