Passed here on our way north. He asked for the driver licence and vehicle title. He turned around the vehicle and checked if our bike rack was ok. He Didn’t say anything so I guess it was ok.
Not really friendly for argentinian !
Passed through today, heading North in our US registered van. Produced TIP, registration, insurance, drivers license and insurance. Policeman asked to view original of NZ passport and NZ license. No problems.
Report Check-InIt’s a bad day for many drivers here today. The police here are in a bad mood or maybe they need to meet a quota for giving tickets! Busy giving citations. We have been stopped a few times in Argentina at these checkpoints, paperwork reviewed quickly and off we go. Usually we are waved through. We’ve crossed the border into Argentina several times as well. Here today it is an infraction of Argentinian law for our bike rack to be beyond the bumper of the car. We had to remove the bikes and rack, find a place inside the van for everything and pay a citation in the city. We were unaware rear bike racks are not allowed, but apparently nothing can extend beyond the bumper of your vehicle here. It was $100 equivalent (blue rate) and 50% off if you pay willingly within the week.
Report Check-InIndeed not closed though they were not really paying attention to the traffic southbound hence didn't ask me to stop
Report Check-InThis checkpoint is still operating- it is not permanently closed as stated above.
Report Check-InJust waved through. Most police were on their smartphone not caring...
