Description

₡5.000 colones per person per night. Camping on bluff overlooking ocean, from the campsite there is a quick trail to the beach. Very beautiful and quiet campground. Can have fires in fire pits and plenty of firewood from surrounding area. The road is dirt for the last few km but fine for rigs of any size. Currently there are camping signs with arrows starting at the Iguana Azul hotel which is approx. 1 km away. Camping is to the left or south of the hotel (don't take Calle Ventanas). There is a good sink area in the middle of the campground for dishes or laundry. The area is groomed so no falling coconuts and lots of flat ground. Bathroom has two showers and two toilets and all clean with toilet seats and paper.

Friendly owners - greatest views / loved staying here.

Report Check-In

Stopped here needing to fill our water tanks, as we were really low. I don’t know if they normally allow people to do this, but they helped us out big time! We connected our hose to their potable water spigot, and the pressure was great. Left a donation.

Looks like a great place to stay, but we are mainly wild camping in CR.

Report Check-In

Beautiful spot and worth the extra drive to get here. More than adequate facilities at CRC 10k/night/vehicle (2ppl). Wide open grassy & dirt area for parking, capable of handling bigger rigs with some awareness of overhanging branches. Perfect beaches accessible by a well-marked trail. We even found a small hot spring feeding tide pools just below the access point. Friendly host. Highly recommend!

Very nice camping aera. Clean toilets and showers. 5min walk to the beach. 5000cpP, no electricity, no wifi.

Report Check-In

quiet, shaded and pleasant campgrounds. thank you to the previous posts regarding Calle Ventanas and Calle Esperanza. or GPS took us down Ventanas but having seen the comments we knew this to be incorrect.

Report Check-In

Nice place to stay the night. We paid 5000pp pn. Unfortunately we missed the sunset because we got stuck in the mud. We took the wrong road (Calle Ventanas) because maps said the roads would be connected, turned out they weren't. Thankfully the campsite owner, some workers and a friend of the owner were able to get us out! So CAUTION: TAKE CALLE ESPERANZA!
They tried to change it on Google maps but it still looks like it it possible.

Tres bel endroit en hauteur avec une superbe vue sur le pacifique. Accueil top. Toilettes et douches propres Pas de wifi mais reseau tel. Beau terrain plat en herbe et plages a cote. Vraiement un bel endroit facile d acces

Report Check-In

Spent one night here. 12,000 colones for two adults. Had a beautiful view of the water and waves. Sink is well-located right in the middle of the grassy camping area for laundry and dishes. Shower is simple, but serviceable and refreshingly cold this time of year (funny, after how many cold showers I’ve complained about since Mexico). Short walk down to the beach. Not really a swimming beach because of the rocks, but you could find a place to get wet at least. The rocks are actually really cool because they create tide pools to explore. Caspian and I found a ton of awesome shells. Our best experience here was seeing a family of howler monkeys (mom, baby, dad) in a tree right above our heads! (Mosquitos were bad with grass parking.)

Report Check-In

Best campsite of our whole trip. Roy is incredibly friendly and welcoming. Spacious shaded area on a bluff overlooking the ocean with a small path down to a great beach for swimming and surfing, there is even a turtle hatchery about 20 mins south. Really nice bathrooms and showers, potable water, 4000 colones per person per night.

Report Check-In

Good campsite, overlooking the sea 🤩.
Clean toilet and shower. Owner is very friendly, came to check on us in the evening. There where four other campers but you still have your privacy. Sunset is stunning.

Furthermore as described!

Report Check-In

The best camping place in the area, toilets and showers are completely clean, the people in charge of the place are really nice, the place have a great ocean view and there a quick trail to the beach. I highly recommend this place.

Report Check-In

Great campsite overlooking Playa Junquillal and Playa Blanca.
There are 2 showers/bathroom buildings, the main one has 2 outdoor showers, 2 private showers and 2 bathrooms, the other one has 2 private showers (1 was broken during my visit) and 2 bathrooms.
There are at least 3 sinks throughout the campsite.
Sunsets are beautiful!
I've visited both in dry and rainy season and definitely love it there

atmosphere. We strongly recomend it. Tel +506 45003882

Beautiful place, stayed for 8,000; two people one night. Word of warning for wet season, we a hit a soft, muddy patch in the grass and got stuck (2WD). Owner was really helpful and and was worth it for the views and beach.

Report Check-In

Great little spot and the caretaker Leni is super nice. Description is accurate so nothing more to add except some photos!

Report Check-In

We stayed 2 nights with our 4x4 with rooftop tent. Looking at the ocean, quiet area and clean Restrooms/Showers. Only had some howler monkeys waking us up one morning. Felt save and payed 15000 colones for 2 people/2Nights. Would go back here again!

Report Check-In

Great Camping, Elisabeth and Roy made us feel very welcome and even organized us some fish for our bbq . 4000 Colones per night. Amazing beach

Report Check-In

After two weeks in rain forests, we just wanted somewhere on the coast with a sea breeze to cool down and keep the mosquitoes away.
couldn't have chosen anywhere better. Lovely flat camping, clean toilets and showers, nice easy path down to the beach, sinks with potable water dotted around, and all for 4000c per person.
We have our own wifi, fridge, and power points in the van so don't know if they're provided here, but you can probably find that info in other reviews.
Fantastic sunsets!

Muy lindo el sitio. Bastante limpio y ordenado.

Report Check-In

Beautiful spot on bluff overlooking beach, could stay for days. Quiet beach with surfing 5 min walk south. Shady areas to set up. Clean washrooms and showers. 7,000 colones for 2 people and overlander.

The owner is friendly and leaves you to your own devices. Lots of Costa Rican families & couples here; all quiet & respectful.

We were able to charge our battery that powers our fridge by disconnecting it and charging it at their house.

For people that commented it’s difficult to find, I think that the roads on the map are not all accurate - there are signs for the campsite off the main road, just follow them. you can also find this spot on google maps.

Report Check-In

We had the whole campground for ourselves and the owner is really friendly. The baños or ok (nothing special), but the place is perfect. The beach is more less all for you and it’s just the right spot to relax and do nothing.

Report Check-In

was busy the weekend we were there but cleared out on the monday. lovely spot. asked to use electricity just to charge computers and phone. there is a power strip next to the house. wouldn't work for hookups but was perfect for tent camping. 3000pppn. make sure you follow the signs for camping in town not the map.me or Google maps instructions their route doesn't go through.

Report Check-In

Nice enough spot. Definitely can't plug in. I can't seem to find an outlet to even plug a computer in. One bathroom has power, the other does not. It's full blown rainy season, and we are the only people here. Bathrooms are clean until you use them. The Mudd really sticks to your shoes and then you track it into the bathrooms. The wifi is ok if you are close to the main house. Great view, beautiful beach. The mudd, and no electricity and not enough sun for our solar makes this a tuff spot for us at this time, but with better weather this could be a gem.

Report Check-In

We liked this place. It's a large parking area overlooking the ocean. Clean bathroom and toilet. A couple of sinks in the camping area with potable water. Lots of room to hang your hammocks and enjoy the stunning sunset! The people working here are super nice. Short stroll to the rocky beach, but if you walk 300 metres further you'll get to a sandy beach for surfing. No electricity at sites but maybe you can work something out with the owner with a long extension cable. The price was 2500 colones per person ($5). Easy to find, just follow the signs for camping when you arrive in town.

Report Check-In

It is OPEN! Didn't stay but big area for car & tent camping. You have to follow the road as it narrows around a corner & then it opens up to the campground.

Report Check-In

We have been there and I also think we found it as we recognized the sink from the photos. But it looked very abandoned. A big grassy field, looked a bit left behind and nobody was there. We parked there 5-10 minutes and searched for an other place to go and we saw nobody or so. So we do not know if we were somewhere else or if it is closed or if just nobody was there that day.

Report Check-In

We stayed here two nights, nice and quiet spot right near the beach. Cold shower ald toilet not the most recent nor cleanest but ok. 2500 pp pn. Wifi available some times. When you walk to the left on the beach there is a tirtle conservation project with a really nice guy that can tell you all about it.

Report Check-In

Great grassy camping place with awesome views and walks on the beach. 2 showers, 2 restrooms, sinks. 2500 colones per person.

Report Check-In

We stayed here for 3 nights because we really liked the place! Super calm (end of January, might be crowded around Christmas & Easter), very pretty and quiet beach, hardly any people, but safe. The bathrooms were very clean and there is everything you need. I guess if you need electricity you could make a deal with the owners because there is electricity in the nearby houses. If you need fast wifi check out the surf cafe in the "plaza", around 1km from here on the dirt road you came from. Very nice Californian owner & good chai tea.

Report Check-In

We arrived and were disappointed the bathrooms were grossly filthy Manuel was away and obviously the staff did not keep the hygiene standard up He was not due back until November we did not stay though everything else seemed in place We did move on and as we wanted to be on the beach and have the use of facilities we did not find anything better
