We were there but it seems to be closed for a while. A sign at the gate also says that there is no service right now.
Instead we went to the Hostal/Camping Las Cabanas a few minutes away in a small town called Chucuito

Report Check-In

Report Check-In

Nice affordable place 10-15 mins from Puno. 50 soles per night for a two single beds room. Ample roofed garage. Very useful for our two motorcycles. Clean, quiet place. Hot water. Good WiFi. Front desk at night is a hit or miss though. Police station and mini market are 5 minutes away. No restaurants until Chucuito or Puno.

Report Check-In

Place was fine. Shower clean, 1 toilet not so much. Great wifi. We could use the washing machine for 3 soles which was great, laundry line. Enjoyed a beautiful hike up to the archeological site with incredible views. Friendly people, quiet night. Paid 37 Soles for 2 in a truck camper.

Regarding with the security the place is very safe there are new security cameras and a serene all night long so we were not worried at all !!

Report Check-In

Nice spot, hot showers, good WiFi, and very nice owner. A bit expensive, though (37 soles).

Report Check-In

Nice upscale looking hotel, although we didn't see the rooms with a large open lot for camping. Although the camping area was visible from the road it had a locked gate and the walls were at least 8 feet high. They are continuing to build more facilities, with a kitchen soon to come and additional shade cover. We had a quiet night. Showers were hot and the facilities were very clean. Friendly owner. Dog friendly but many burrs in the grass, however they were easy to remove. Good wifi, electricity for 5 Sol extra.

Report Check-In

Dear overlanders.
It is unfortunate what happened about the theft in our camping site, it was really the first and only time that this happened. For our part, we are implementing greater security in the area, with more useful cameras. And also we have the duty to suggest that you be more cautious as travelers, because as is the case all over the world, travelers with motor homes or sophisticated cars are targets of assailants looking to steal parts of cars and / or valuables.
And what has also surprised us is how it was possible that the owners of the van, who were sleeping inside the car, have not heard or felt anything when the thieves were extracting their window!. Well, anyway We have shown solidarity toward our affected guests (a couple). We accompany them to put the complaint in the police, we ask them the estimated total value of their stolen objects, we trust their word and we compensate them with a large amount of money (there are other campingsite that never get to compensate anything to their guests).

We have always strived to keep all our services very clean, take care, guide and inform our guests about Puno, Peru.
On the use of electricity, they can charge their cell phones or laptops in our Reception for free. And if they wish to have electricity directly in their car with a cable, the extra cost is S / .5, but it does not include the connection of high electrical consumption appliances such as: heating, electric stove, electric kettle, dishwasher, etc. But if you need to use these high-power electrical appliances, you can do so, but the cost will not be S / .5; their electric consumption will be measured during their stay, and according to their consumption will be charged the cost.

Best regards.
The administration of this camping site

Report Check-In

We were ROBBED in this campsite at night while sleeping in our van. They were looking for "car memory" (electronic part of the car) but ended up with our two backpacks. The campsite has a couple of bad cameras with no use at night, has no 24h desk or even a dog. Your car is observed from the street. Overall looks safe but might that not trick you. The owner was very helpful tho going with us to the police and compensating like 30% of our losses, but this cannot return my local ID which has been stolen, so my americas trip ends half way... Cannot recommend..

Report Check-In

Overlanders were robbed here! The night before we arrived a couple was robbed while they slept in their van. The thieves broke in through the window of the locked van and stole bags and valuables. The walls around the place are low and you can see the parked cars through the fence from the road. Although there are security cameras, nothing was caught on tape. It's very surprising because the area seems very calm and safe. Be careful!

Besides that, in our opinion, this place was not a great value (especially after camping a few days in Puno at Pacha Confort). We have an outdoor cooking set-up and it was too windy to cook on our gas stove. We found out that the extra 5 soles for electricity did not include the use of our tiny electric hot plate (even just to heat water). It's just for charging phones at the only outlet near the shower..  which we didn't need. Also for this price some TP in the bathroom could be nice. Showers were hot, at least!

Report Check-In

Well, the camping is more a construction site at the moment. But when it’s done, i think it’ll be pretty nice. Showers and toilets are very clean! There is potable water directly from the tab and you have WiFi-signal in your car.
37sol for a car and 2 people per night. Electricity costs 5sol extra.

Report Check-In

We stayed one night here to be able to visit the Uros Islands. We looked at many of the options in Puno and found the city to feel unsafe.

We had the best shower of our trip here. The water is hot and the pressure is perfect. There is a bathroom (bring your own TP) and a sink for washing dishes or clothes. They said the water is potable, but we didn’t drink it.

The area to camp is not all that nice, but it appears they are working on this.

The couple running this place is so sweet. Maria helped us book a tour of the Uros Islands which was slightly more than the cost of just showing up at the port, but we liked knowing we had a reservation. The tour company they use was awesome (Suri is the name of the tour company - Hector was our captain and Freddy was our guide - awesome!) and we had a blast. Maria even walked us to the road to catch a collectivo and she made sure they knew where to take us. This little gesture made our experience memorable.

We highly recommend staying here. Price is still $37 soles total for the car, 2 people and a dog.

(WiFi is not great).

Report Check-In

great place. The woman who runs it is so nice we started calling her "mama". we camped for 4 nights and on the 5th it was raining so hard she insisted we take a room at no extra cost. She even boiled water for us in the morning. 🤙

Report Check-In

Bit of a building site at the moment, and the camping area is just a courtyard with a bunch of stone thrown down. Not a place to hang out for fine for a secure and quiet overnight stop.

Report Check-In

Good and safe option to visit Puno & the lake of Titicaca. Lot of space in the backyard. Hot showers, clean baños. 37PEN (2 persons & a camper). 20 minutes with the minibus to the centre - 1.5 PENpp.
Very nice and helpful owners. You can also book tours here.

Report Check-In

Place is ok. Price is definitely too high. 40PEN just for parking on muddy gravel ? I have seen better and more reasonable places in Peru ... OK just for Overnight, having a hot shower and do some internet stuff. Initially planned to stay longer due to rain seasons but left after 24 hours ...

Report Check-In

They recently installed rocks over the grass parking since it would get pretty muddy. Room for 6 at least. Solar shower (cool/cold in the morning). Helpful manager, sink facilities.
Good stop before exiting Peru, similar to entering the country.

Report Check-In

Report Check-In

Great place to stop at. We were travelling 2 up on our bike and stopped here. We were quoted 25s to camp or 35s for the "Simple" room...... it was great, nice solid, warm bed, couch, table chair etc not within the Hotel Complex next to the camping/ parking area...... it was great and for 10s extra saved us from having to set the tent up. 10 minutes into Puno and lovely and quiet..... recommended

Report Check-In

Great place with very friendly owner. She even brought us dinner one night! Hot showers, level parking, wifi & dishwashing sink. Collectivos to Puno from main road cost 1.5 soles pp. and bring you within 5 minutes walking to plaza de armas. Collectivos back to this camp are located near the lake at the collectivo station (added to iOverlander). Look for the collectivos to Chucuito and ask for Hotel Casa Blanca near Ichu. 37/vehicle. Recommended.

Much nicer place to chill than Puno, and you can explore up in the valley and hills behind. Shower is solar so late afternoon is ideal - morning, not so much. Lovely lady. Wifi was best in the evening and surprisingly fast !!

good place with clean toilets. shower is hot but does not have the largest amount of water. WiFi is ok. price is 37 sol per car so pretty expensive when you are alone. connecting to electricity was not possible. they would charge your phone/camera at the reception.

Report Check-In

This place is really lovely. Hot showers, a sink to do dishes and very fast wifi. We needed to get visas for Bolivia and it was a very easy process in Puno. We then headed to the border after a day of rest and had no issues. We are so glad that we got the visas ahead of time.

Report Check-In

Really nice spot. Super friendly people, hot shower, clean bathroom and a good spot to stay before or after crossing the border. Wifi was good too. Recommended

Report Check-In

Great place, very clean restrooms and showers. Water was hot most of the time but if solar is not up to snuff and you tell the owner she can make it hotter. Good WiFi. Electricity is problematic. You may be able to negotiate some connectivity but the infrastructure of the hotel is not equipped to handle big loads. She was kind enough to allow me to hook up and charge my batteries but then insisted I unhook after a couple of days. For the time I was connected she charged me 10 soles per day and I was happy to pay.

She brought hot tea to my friend who was suffering from altitude sickness and was very friendly and inviting. Very secure location, unfortunately only room for about 3 overland vehicles at a time. Another overlander parked beside the hotel on the road and was not charged.

Little vans run up the highway to Puno for 2 soles 50 centavos to the center of town. Just go to end of the road and put you hand out and they will stop. Taxi to the city is about 20 soles, used taxis to return as it is confusing where and which combi to catch for the return.

Nice hotel with extremely friendly owers but still all brand new with a lot of defaults. There where problems with the internet (we had none), problems with the hot water (it was off and on) etc... Price is way too high 35US or 105sol for a double room. In the end we talked down to 70sol. You could also sleep in the car for less, plenty of space.
