Very nice beach, nobody around and most importantly HASSLE FREE (an exception in Ghana). Fishing village and lagoon on the opposite side of town are definitely worth a visit as well.
I was camping just outside the Brenu beach lodge and the manager invited me to camp on the lodge’s compound. I told him I prefer not to pay (since the wild camping is good enough here too), and he said not to worry.
So 2 options:
- you wild camp just outside the lodge compound (pretty sure they will propose you to camp inside)
- you camp inside the compound. Director Agnes told me she regularly has overlanders. Didn’t ask for the price to camp because I insisted I preferred wild camping. I had a couple of beers in their restaurant though.
Very nice place indeed, right on the beach, friendly owner (Agnes, lady with grey Mercedes). Didn’t try the food but there is nothing else in town (I cooked). No WiFi. They have 16 rooms too but didn’t ask about the price.
We don't have any photos of this place yet.

Agnès now asks 150cedi to camp there. We did t stay. The person we discussed with was very welcoming tho!
Report Check-Inwe did free wild camp in front of the gate, on the beach. perfect : a small paradise. we swam, we enjoyed the shadow of the coconut trees. no troubles. Agnes, the boss of the lodge, came to say hello.we used the toilets of the school and asked water in the village. we found bread, eggs, pepsi in small shops in the village.we stayed 5 nights so we recommand it totally!
Report Check-InI accidentally went to the resort next door but fortunately the manager was cool and let me camp for free. He doesn't sell food or drink with so you have to go to Brenu Breach Lodge to eat. Mains are C27-50 and beers are C8. Very quiet during the day, friendly staff and no one hassles you. Loud on the weekends with funerals going on throughout the night in the nearby village, but that's just Ghana.
