Big Parking Lot at the Morrison Springs Park Boat Ramp. The Springs can be locked with a gate, but the parking lot for the boat ramp is outside the gate. The Spring is natural and beautiful with a temperature of 68°F. There is a swimming area with toilets.
Why? By checking in after you’ve visited a place you let others know this place is still functional. You can also add or correct any information.
Park closed. There is an empty parking lot before the gate with no signs that say you can’t park overnight. But to get to the spring itself, looks like in the winter months you can’t. 1 bar Verizon lte.
Report Check-InWe have stayed here in the past but today when we drove in, there were signs in big bold letters "NO OVERNIGHT CAMPING." A sheriff drove in just then so I asked him if there were a distinction between overnight camping and overnight parking. He said no. I asked him for ideas where we could stay and he sent us to Dead River Landing.
Report Check-InAs of 2/2/2023, all the water spigots are off and restrooms are locked. There are porta-potties available and the electricity at the Pavillion is still on. Water is very high and murky from storms.
Report Check-InStayed for 2 days one night. Parked in the big parking lot outside of the gate. The water was crystal clear and beautiful to swim in. Saw lots of scuba divers. Ports-potty’s were clean
Report Check-InBeautiful springs. Parked in overflow parking around 10pm and no one bothered us. Well lit lot with some darker patches. A few locals came through and parked at the boat launch across the street. Felt a little sketchy at night but was a beautiful place to wake up to morning. (Photos are from the dock)
Report Check-InWe found an unmapped road that went back to a lake/boat ramp and there is a hidden pull through in the forest. No Verizon signal.
Report Check-InVery secluded spot. Got there around 9pm on the Sunday before Memorial Day. No one else was there. Just as we were setting up, a cop cruised in and gave us the boot. She said we couldn’t sleep inside the park on the brick road or in the overflow. She weirdly had donut powder all over her face and a strange white hood on her seat.
What a world we live in where you can’t park in a giant empty with no one around for miles. God bless Florida.
Report Check-InLove this quite, just off I-10 little place Good sized overflow parking lot for the Springs
2nd time staying here Both times the only ones here
Just beyond the overflow parking is a gravel road to another boat launch. There are several pull offs and trails. No signs that say you can't camp there. Quiet and heavily wooded.
Report Check-InNice place to overnight park. Street lights in overflow parking area. Quiet, far away from any major road.
Report Check-InLarge overflow parking area for Morrison Springs
Fairly level Very quiet & clean Plenty of lampposts so should be well lit once it gets dark
A few cars going in & out of the actual park
Best of all ...
It’s $FREE.99!! Lol
Great spot. Quiet. I was here alone. People started arriving around 7:30am.
Report Check-InAmazing spot! The spring is absolutely amazing. There’s a cave on the spring floor about 40 feet off the dock, check it out if you can.
Water is absolutely crystal clear. Wasn’t too busy for a Sunday. It’s how a spring should be, non-commercialized unlike all the other ones.
Parking lot is just that, a parking lot. Well lit and no one was there when I went!
Report Check-InQuiet night in the parking lot, the only one there. The park was closed for some reason, but there's Ponce De Leon State Park 8 minutes away with good restrooms.
Report Check-InWe parked in the large overflow parking lot. The parking is in a lit parking area, plenty of parking. The Springs were under a large amount of water following the 20” of rain that fell during Hurricane Sally. Quiet place to spend the night.
Report Check-InStayed one night in the overflow lot and were the only ones there. Had no problems, but felt a bit naughty since the park closes at dark. 100% check out the springs. We had so much fun and it is great if you are traveling with kids. Very spotty cell service on ATT.
Report Check-InPeaceful and quiet compared to the loud rest stop off of I-10. Gates open throughout the night. Occasionally locals do drive thru the area at night.
Report Check-InGreat little County park with a glorious swimming hole. I stayed for almost a week; the first few days in the back corner of the overflow area, the last two up closer to the spring. Restrooms, cold water showers, and there is electricity in the pavillion, for charging up what have you.
This was a nice find, with so many places being closed due to Covid. Good place to recharge...
The Springs are an amazing place to snorkel!
Gates were open so we stayed the night on the brick portion of the parking lot. Outdoor cold showers and a water fountain to fill up water bottles. Clean bathrooms. Some locals came and went but had zero issues. You could also try staying at the boat ramp although the parking lot isn’t very level.
Report Check-InBest place for night or two, clean toilets, cold shower, very nice springs, very silent at night, all free.
Report Check-InArrived an hour before sundown, several groups and cars where there. Stayed in the main parking lot near the bathrooms/showers and didn't have any troubles. Gate remained open through the night. Cold water outdoor showers.
Report Check-InStayed here last night, great spot, it is very clean and has bathrooms with running water.
Report Check-InPeaceful, beautiful and quiet. Excellent spot. Only a few people came by during the day.
Report Check-InA very peaceful and quiet site!
Reds birds and squirells. Big parking for rv. Showers and water.
Great place to stay the night- we stayed by the boat launch on the river
Report Check-InPeaceful and secluded spot- no signs that you couldn’t park overnight and lots of boaters were parked overnight at the boat ramp. We stayed up at the overflow parking outside the park gated with no problem. Beautiful springs to swim in or cold showers. Says no pets but we had our dog and others did too. Will definitely go back!
