Something not right?

Description

It looks like a parking/picnic structure which never got finished. Some trees to block you from the road. Lake access. Some tables. A sign says "no camping", but we saw locals who even pitched a tent and mentioned it wouldn't be a problem. We'll see.
Beautiful lake and mountain views. Free. New sign warning of rock slides are up.

Beautiful spot. Amazing views. Clean lake lovely for a swim. Had 11 cyclists here for New Years Eve and still had heaps of space. Locals came to swim and seemed happy with us being there. No facilites or signal.

Nice place , ótimo lugar para pernoitar, tranquilo e seguro. Lago lindo e limpo. Uma pena que algumas pessoas vem acampar e deixam o seu lixo aqui, não cuidam deste belo lugar.

Nice place, stopped here for lunch. There’s a trail heading south that’s pretty badly overgrown (found some trailsigns though but couldn’t go further than 500m)

very nice place to spend a night in a tent or motorvan. close to the lake.there is many places.
the lake is vers beautiful.

Easy to find. Car park at side of river. Plenty of spots for camper vans. If bike camping, head to the south side of the car park. There is one area hidden in the trees for one or two tents. Plenty of space around for more tents. Ground is car park gravel but a few soily/roots areas to get a better pitch. A few cars coming and going through the evening to be by the lake, and by around 9am cars starting to arrive. Good spot.

Very nice place! You can park or use your tent between the trees or even just by the lake. We spend one night here and in the morning we swam in the lake, it was cold but very nice experience. In the morning some people stop by to take pictures but not to early. Just please take your trash with you.

We spent a night there. Some loud music from some people but not until to late ! Good for a night !

Great spot to spend the night or picnic. Many spots with shadow from the trees and access to the lake to swim. Only bad thing : many many horseflies.

Report Check-In

As described, but without the german shepherd and with more overnight groups (motorcyclists and 5 guys in a car), so more crowded than a formal camping. But view is beautiful and lake is nice for a swim.

Stayed at the spot at the south end. Rain and wind protection with the trees above. There’s other spots in the north end, also under trees. There was a tour bus stopped for a while with tourists, but they left after a while, seems like a popular rest area. The lake was so calm it was like glass. Very beautiful.

Very nice place for one night directly on the lake. We were there on a Saturday and some locals were there for a BBQ, but the music was not that loud and we didn't hear much noise. It is like a circle with trees in the middle, so you can hide to not be seen from the street.

Report Check-In

Very good spot! The trees give you a bit of coverage from the road in the upper part (where you first enter), and if you are the first to arrive there’s a larger parking area that’s well shielded by trees. Lake access. Some toilet paper and trash in the fire pits, but otherwise a pretty decent place to spend the night. A bit of road noise, not terrible. No service with Entel.

Report Check-In

Nice spot by the lake. Enough space for lots of tents and quite a lot of vehicles. Flat and pretty clean with fire pits and wood from other people. We didn't have any wind there. not much rain protections except the trees. Locals come there to fish, tourists to take pictures, and no one seems to care if people are camping despite the sign "no camping, no fire, no blablabla...".

Report Check-In

Very large and nice place, although too many restrictions. Despite them we spent a very calm night and saw nothing else than some cars coming to take a picture.

Report Check-In

great place to stay with easy acces to lake.

500 meters to north is small waterfall with water to drink or cook.

If you stay here and happen to meet a German Shepherd-like dog, please feed him and cuddle with him. It looks likes his back or hip hurt and he overall seems a bit weak. We spent two days with him here and I feel in love with his peaceful, friendly and trustful manner. Breaks my heart I can't take him with us...
BTW the spot is really nice too

Report Check-In

Good spot to spend the night. Not mutch traffic at night so quiet location.

HGcvo. od spot for a night with a big rig. The no camping sign refers to tents. We thought the rockfall sign could also refer to rocks being thrown down from the road by cars. It is protected from the road by some trees, so who knows.

Report Check-In

Nice place, no camping sign. Plus new sign saying rock slides. Not worth a cracked windshield so we left.

Report Check-In

much nicer than the other wild camp nearby. a sign said no camping but there's lots if space and it's obviously used for camping by others. there's a trail leading around the lake heading south which may offer those with tents other options. in our van we really liked this spot despite the heavy rain we still had a fire under the trees.

managed to burn a lot of paper left by others.
