Great location for visiting Cuenca. Miriam is very nice and has lots of good tips. Vehicle locations will no longer be available from August 3 to 8 due to work.

Report Check-In

Everything is as good as described :) Miriam, the owner, wants to let you know that the camping will be closed from 3. August until 8. August 2022.

Report Check-In

Stayed here for 3 nights, Mirjam is such a lovely host. Facilities are good and its quiet at night. We paid 5$ pppn and 1$ pn for electricity. She gave us all the info about cuenca we needed.

Report Check-In

We just spent 3 weeks here! Miriam is a gem! You need something, she has the solution. Bathrooms just got renewed and the campers kitchen now has a large oven too! Due to the limited parking space the pricing scheme is as follows:
- Vehicles smaller than 6 metres: 5$ pP, 1$/day for plug-in, 1$ water tank fill-up
- Vehicles between 6 and 7m: 6$ pP, 1$/day for plug-in, 1$ water tank fill-up
- Vehicles larger than 7m: 7$ pP, 1$/day for plug-in, 1$ water tank fill-up

Tent campers are more than welcome, but it's best for all campers to phone Miriam a day before you get here or send a WhatsApp (+593-999-551028) to see if there is space available. Hight restriction is around 4m to get through the gate. There is a Gran Aki supermarket just 2 blocks away, a small but inexpensive fruit and veggie store is just around the corner and just up the next block is a very good bakery. The chocolate cake from the fridge is to die for! It's super quiet at night, absolutely no street noise! The main square is only 10 minutes on foot. The water here is potable but chlorinated. Super place to stay and see Cuenca!

Report Check-In

Perfect spot close to the historic city center! Miriam is the kindest host and can help you with anything! Very secure parking... hot showers... clean bathroom... shared kitchen... decent wifi. We highly recommend staying here for a few days while you explore Cuenca! You will feel like family here! It is best to WhatsApp Miriam to let her know you are coming... room for maybe 3 vans so you want to make sure she has room for you!
+593 99 955 1028

You pay by the length of your van... most vans are $5 per person... our van is 7 Meyers do we paid a bit more... $7 per person per night. FYI... we are 3.2 meters high and had no issues getting in the gate!

Report Check-In

Open and ready for business. Apparently, I was the fifth overlander post pandemic. Miriam and her family are excellent hosts and the location is primo. If you don’t want to park on the street and prefer amenities in the city for a small fee of $5pp then staying here is a no brainer. Presumably, when the rest of ya post-pandemic overlanders get down here this place will be booked up.

Report Check-In

Still open and ready to accept visitors! Great spot to stay in Cuenca. Miriam took excellent care of us while we were there. See picture for rates and Covid rules. Highly recommended!

Report Check-In

We stayed one night with 3 adults: 5+5+7US$.
The night was quite.
The shower is a little bit tricky, but it gets really hot. Maybe ask Miriam for help.

Report Check-In

perfect place very friendly owners. hot showers. really a home away from home. thank you Miriam

Report Check-In

Very good place for a stay in beautiful Cuenca. Miriam and her family are very welcoming. Very close to historic town, fast WiFi, hot shower, clean toilets. Very much recommended. Still $5 ppn. Planned 1 night, stayed 3.

Report Check-In

As described a very welcoming and friendly family, the perfect place to stay while visiting Cuenca. The shower wasn’t warm when we were there, as it was warm weather, no problem. We only stayed one night but it’s definitely a place to stay longer - highly recommended.

Report Check-In

We came for 2 nights and stayed 5. Still $5USD per person per night and well worth it. Miriam and her husband are the nicest people. Warm, welcoming, and great hosts. We felt like part of their family. This place is safe and close to the center. Places to eat, laundry, and tiendas nearby. Hot water, toilet, sink, and good WiFi. There's a small area to sit outside and one inside, where we spent most of our down time. They love Overlanders! We highly recommend!

Report Check-In

Very friendly family.
The price still US$5 per person, if you are sleeping in a tend or your van.
But also if you want sleep in a comfortable room, it cost only US$ 10.
Have a kitchen, good hot shower, toilet. So close to historical center.
We highly recommend.

Report Check-In

Lovely family-owned camping spot in Cuenca.
Myriam is one of the most amazing hosts we met in our trip. The place is very safe and has easy access to city center.

Report Check-In

We were about to spend one night here and finally stayed 4 nights.
The best place we have been in South America, the kindest and greatest family you can find. They will share with you all their attention and are always wanting you to be happy and comfortable.

Concrete parking lot for some vans and big rigs, kitchen, bathroom, hot showers and good WiFi, really close to the center.

Don't miss this place if you visit Cuenca!
(Write or phone Miriam before arriving to be sure they are in the house)

Report Check-In

Awesome upgrade! there a bathroom (sink and the toilet) outside the house now!

Report Check-In

Spent three nights here and Miriam was very accommodating! She is in the process of renovating the place the next couple weeks, but she still let us park and stay with her. When our van had to spend the night at the mechanics, she helped us find a place to stay with our dog which we are forever grateful for. If we can we will be back to see the finished space!

Report Check-In

Miriam is super nice and welcoming, gave us good tips on where to eat, and what to do. It’s a safe, gated, cement parking area, that fits two overlander vehicles, they might be able to fit more though. WiFi was ok, one bathroom with hot shower, tp. Has outdoor kitchen and table/common area. When we were there, they were doing some renovations/construction. Soon they will have an outdoor bathroom and shower as well as a covered outdoor kitchen area. Great location, near center. $5pp.

Report Check-In

Great place. Very friendly and helpful landlady Miriam. Ideal location to visit the city by feet (and only 800 meters from our preferred Jodoco Belgian beer brewery/bistro).

Report Check-In

Excellent spot to stay in Cuenca.
Myriam is really helpful.

Report Check-In

Miriam, the host, is lovely and extremely helpful with anything you might need and the location is perfect; it's a short walk to the main square and there's everything an overlander could wish for within a few blocks such as mechanic, laundry, bakery, supermarket, stickershop, panelbeater etc. etc.

Report Check-In

Excelent place if you want to visit Cuenca
Perfect situation, you can go walking to the center
Laundry is 2 minutes from the place and also there is a shop where you can get your own stickers
Miriam is a lovely person and knows everything in the neighborhood

Report Check-In

it's really funny this place turned into an iOverlander destination because it is tiny and they will fit up to 7 cars in the lot :-) but we felt right at home with Miriam. wifi was great. really central location. still 5$ pp+1$ for connecting our fridge in the kitchen and optional brekkie for $2pp

Report Check-In

I spent about ten days total with Miryam and her lovely family at Tu Parada en Cuenca. I enjoyed staying there so much that I even brought my family there when they came to Ecuador for a visit. They stayed in one of several bedrooms available inside of the house. Miryam is one of those special hosts on the Pan-American, she’s willing to go to any length to ensure your comfort - whether arranging tours or helping you fix something. We became good friends and she came with my family to eat our first dinner of Cuy! This campground is a simple, level driveway capable of fitting rigs of any size and has hot showers and a kitchen along with fast WiFi. Come for the amenities, stay to spend time with Miryam. Couldn’t recommend Tu Parada en Cuenca more strongly!

Report Check-In

Miryam is the kindest host I’ve met on this drive. Her house is lovely and the parking is extremely secure. The internet is the best I’ve had on the trip (good time to back up those photos), and she will treat you like family from the moment you arrive. While I was there, she walked me personally to a self service laundry place, she joined my family for our first cuy dinner and she helped with advice on every part of my stay in Cuenca. I ended up spending just shy of two weeks here and felt like a member of their family when I left. The hospitality Miryam provides makes you feel as though you’re home even though you’re likely quite far from it.

Report Check-In

Nice, friendly, clean, quiet and convenient .......

Report Check-In

Amazing place to visit Cuenca, close to the city center, but also quiet at night. Miriam is a fantastic host and we enjoyed the time there. Everything else like discribed by the others. Highly recommended!

Report Check-In

Honestly, it was nice and Miriam is super friendly BUT : the kitchen is outside and not completely covered which is extremely annoying when it’s rainy. one of the stove doesn’t work well.
You can use the living room but
there is only one toilets/bathroom for all guests. Prepare yourself to wait a bit.
Miriam provide a 2 persons tent if you need to camp 5$/person. The tent itself is covered which is good but it’s not super cheap 10$ for 2 persons without car just for a tent!
The home is very clean but the parking and especially the tent area is dirty and full of unused stuff.

So our overall experience was ok but with just a little tidy up, painting and cleaning this parking lot will be really beautiful

Report Check-In

El mejor lugar de Cuenca para Overlanders, una familia muy amable y dispuesta a ayudar en lo que sea, esta muy bien ubicado y muy seguro, un lugar estupendo

Report Check-In

Really nice place to stay with a vehicle in Cuenca ! Myriam did everything to improve our visit of the city.

Report Check-In

As said by everyone, great place to chill out and explore cuenca from. We pitched our tent in the parking lot. Excellent wifi, little kitchen with all that's necessary. The owner, Mariam, is wonderful and makes you feel right at home and part of the family! And if you have time, definitely do the escape room next door!

Report Check-In

It is better to use as coordinates -2.890663, -79.008870 otherwise the original one will send you to to Pio Bravo st. and this is wrong. The gate for the entrance is in Esteves de Toral

Report Check-In

Miriam loves overlanders! The wifi is very good, but the shower is electric. Outdoor sink and two burner stove, and an RV DUMP in the corner that you can use! Electricity extra $1. Nice location, nice family.

Report Check-In

really lovely chatty woman. great amenities though shower isnt very warm. $5pppn . kitchen basic. driveway a bit cramped with all vans. easy walk to town.

Report Check-In

Nice place, walk everywhere. Clean facilities. Wifi is iffy.

Report Check-In

Perfect place, incredibly welcoming and nice people! Central town is in walking distance. It's like a home away from home.
As it gets quite busy (and sometimes booked out) with overlanders because of the reasons mentioned, it's best to call and ask if they have space for you (+593999551028).

Report Check-In

Great option for Cuenca. We set our tent up in the parking lot. $5pppn. Free use of the kitchen, lounge and bathroom in the house. There's also a nice area outside with a gas stove and table and chairs. The family are very friendly and make you feel at home. They do get busy though and on the first night we stayed at Mi Casa hostel because there wasn't any room but we came back for 2 more nights. Recommended.

Report Check-In

Great camping option for Cuenca. Miriam and her family are super friendly and helpful. Camping is in the parking lot so not super comfortable and can be a bit squashed if there are lots of people staying. But you have free use of the house with a good kitchen and big lounge as well as outdoor seating and cooking area. $5 pppn.

Report Check-In

Prepare to stay longer than planned. We immediately felt at home, what a welcoming family. Perfect location, secure parking, Netflix-worthy wifi, hot showers, great vibe in the house...tough to beat. $5 pp + $1 for electricity per night if needed.

Report Check-In

What a fun place to stay! We arrived late and almost left without a place since there were already 4 other overlanders there. But Miriam squeezed us in by inches so we could sleep safe and enjoy company of fellow travelers. Great atmosphere! For the last day we had a common breakfast with Miriam preparing a local specialty. Definitely THE place to stay in Cuenca.

Report Check-In

The best place to stay in Cuenca! We could fit four vans in their parking space. It didn't matter that it was a bit tight, we spent our time in Miriam's house. As you can use the kitchen and living room, you feel so welcome in their family. It was great to meet other travellers as well, we had an amazing time there and were sad to leave. Bathroom is clean and wifi in the house is fast. All perfect!

Report Check-In

Miriam is one of the most welcoming hosts ever! The place is very well situated in the city and the family will make you feel right at home. Most importantly they just finished the work in the parking area to give overlanders more (flat) space! Still no risk to get lost. But since you can use the kitchen, livingroom and garden, its easily enough for 3 cars and their crew (view fotos). They are working on additional bathrooms especially for overlanders witch should open sept 19. highly recommendet!

Report Check-In

What a nice place and such a wonderful, friendly and helpful family - good that there is now place for more cars!

Report Check-In

The location is very well positioned, walking distance from the city center, but what makes this place so special are the hosts. Miriam and Richard enjoy a lot to receive overlanders and they welcome people with open heart. They even prepared breakfast, coffee, tea for us. Miriam is a true host. We definitely recommend this place.
The location is secure, with fenced gates, we entered with our truck that has 3.3m height, it has good internet, toilet and common living room with TV.

Report Check-In

What a nice place to stay in Cuenca for overlander! Safe parking to sleep in the car, good kitchen and bathroom facilities, super friendly host. 10-15 min walk from Central square. There's a free medical clinic nearby and cheap dentist around the corner.

Report Check-In

One of the top 3 places we stayed during our one year trip trough Southamerica. Myriam and her family are so superfriendly and welcoming. We felt like home! Stayed one week :)
Myriam gives us great tipps what to visit in this beautiful city. Actually the parkingspace is good for two campervans (vw). Overlanders can use the kitchen, the bathroom, the livingroom and garden as well.
Myriam told us that they will start to build an outdoorkitchen and a seperate bathroom for the overlanders soon. As well they will build a roof above the parking area. All especially for us overlanders :))) soo nice!!! Overlander paradise in Cuenca. Enjoy :)

Report Check-In

Great place with a great host! Very warm and welcoming!! She will take care of you like a family member, and the rolm that I got was very comfy. I left one of my phones there and she sent it to me asap through some courier.
She is going to give you plenty of advice to tour the city or going ahead in your route.

Report Check-In

If you are car camping there is no reason not to stay here. This has been one of our favorite places to stay in all of South America. Miryam is amazing. You have access to fast WiFi, clean bathroom and shower, a kitchen, and you’re within walking distance to anything you need. Nothing bad to say about this place. We were sad to leave.

Report Check-In

Amazing, Amazing and again Amazing!
central location, super clean, good facilities, fast wifi, relax environment, super friendly owner and very helpful (city tours, restaurants, doctors etc...) .
Motorbikes, car, combi and big rings are welcomed.
We planned to stay 2 days only, we ended up leaving 1 week later keeping in our hearts this family.
