Description

Good spot for a day or two. Definitely wouldn’t stay here on the weekend, lots of locals with loud music and littering the beach, we cleaned up about 70 cans of beer. However super awesome swimming spot, super clear water and lovely fishes!

Amazing water but too much people even on tuesday night, bad music too loud and too much flies around 5pm so we left into land 3 min ahead and we had a quiet night.
This beach is empty first half of the day so could be nice if you want to have a bath in this beautiful water

Report Check-In

Plage magnifique, eau sublime.

Report Check-In

this place is very nice, the water is beautiful ! We will definitely go back!

Report Check-In

Stayed here for one night, location was easy to access. There were several rigs onsite.

Report Check-In

good snorkeling and some pretty good fishing
The beach itself is dirty, if the locals are are around it can get loud but otherwise a good place to stay a night or two
Lots of broken glass on the beach (a Mexican tradition) be careful with your kids and pets

Report Check-In

Nice spot just out of La Paz, we were the only ones here! (Except fisherman in the morning) Quiet and right on the water. We will definitely be staying here again before taking the ferry, it’s so close! Tons of space, we’re In a 170 sprinter

(December 15 update)

Since Tecolote is less accessible now (after hurricane it’s wrecked) and snow birds arriving, this spot is busy. People setting up for more than just a night. Definitely taking over a highly used boat put in. It’s a locals hang out, or was, so cars came in and out until about 11pm.

nice place clear water, bit come in weekdays, weekend full party withe music the hol Night 🥴😬

Report Check-In

Small beach, beautiful clear water. Many tours leaving from this area. Best on a weekday, a lot of locals partying on the weekends. Flies were relentless. Beautiful sunset.

Report Check-In

Great public beach sheltered from wind. good paddle boarding and snorkeling

Report Check-In

1km to the ferry terminal, nice place, nice sunset, views, birds, a lot of campers, but quite, all Kind of campers, waste Box, free

Report Check-In

stayed for one night with about 15 other vans. locals had a bumping party at night.

you CANNOT use the restrooms at the nearby restaurant unless you are a customer.

Report Check-In

A good place for a night before you ferry. Really crowded, both with campers and locals, so we wouldn't stay here for an extended period of time, but it's convenient and there's a great cell reception which disappears if you go anywhere further north.

Report Check-In

Just past the ferry dock. About 20 vehicles camping here today with room for all. The beach sand is lovely and the clear water warm enough to swim. A good choice for paddle boards as the bay is somewhat sheltered.

Report Check-In

We stayed here for one night. Its okay, but we had an man as neighbour with an loud diesel generator starting at 4a.m. :/

Report Check-In

Stayed here two nights in our Sprinter van. Beautiful place and great swimming. Lots of locals during the day and some visiting sailboats. The two bar/restaurants are open most days. Short drive out of La Paz. Music some night and a little trash but really was a great spot.

Report Check-In

Stayed here for 2 nights in our 22ft shuttle bus and enjoyed it. Pretty peaceful but quite a few people around camping which was nice. Water is really nice and it’s less windy than tecolote. Had great cell reception. Locals did come by at night blasting music and drinking but I’m a heavy sleeper. Weekdays would be better to stay here. Beautiful sunsets over the ocean. A couple of trash cans. Would come back

Report Check-In

Excellent spot. Beautiful beach. We parked on the first side before the bridge, a few local young people walked by in the early evening, other than that very quiet, only us and the other campers. great cell service with Telcel. Close to La Paz.

Report Check-In

Came on a Tuesday for one or two nights, ended up staying until Monday! Just gorgeous here. Not much wind. Filled with gringos. Lots of owned dogs running around. Was actually not busy/loud on Friday or Saturday night. Was more busy on Tuesday and Wednesday night lol. A couple of garbage bins cleared daily which is nice. No portas. Hiking trail near by. Amazing snorkeling and swimming. The tide rise is not as bad as everyone makes it seem. Local fisherman going in and out daily. Close to ferry and town. Not nice beach sand to lay in because of all the dog pee. Amazing that all dog owners have picked up the dog poop though, so less worries there!

Emplacement de merde,
Très bruyant dès 4h30 du matin

Report Check-In

Quiet place du ring thé week. Busy for thé week end. But Nice Beach. Restaurants. Perfect place before taking thé ferry

Report Check-In

We stayed here for two nights before taking the ferry. Very quiet and nice place to escape the heat from La Paz (breezy here). Good cell service.

Report Check-In

we came back to try this location again. lively popular spot with the locals. close to la paz. the quesadilla and nachos that I got at the restaurant were not very good and expensive compared to other places (beach prices). next to the lagoon is a very bad smell, but that dissipates as you go toward the beach. great telcel service. OK place to bring a dog but there is a lot of traffic so best to stay on leash during the busiest hours if you can. quiets down at 9 pm but very loud generators start at 5:15 am to pump water. overflowing trash bins but otherwise pretty clean. one of the best sunset views I've seen in Baja. someone mentioned bugs and there were a lot of gnats, but didn't notice biting bugs.

Report Check-In

We stopped on Saturday mid afternoon and it was packed so tight with cars we could not stay. There was very loud music and the place was not what we were looking for.

Report Check-In

Showed up on a Sunday afternoon and it was a total rager! Everyone seemed to be having a good time so we parked in the big lot and waited for people to clear out before trying to get a spot near the beach. We did get 2 bars of LTE on ATT, but it was very slow. Only came here after spending several days without service on El Tecolote. We definitely prefer it there! Only amenity is garbage cans, but they are often overflowing. Free!

Update: Lord have mercy! The bugs here are the absolute worst!!!!

Report Check-In

We absolutely loved this location. Cute beach with rentals & 2 restaurants. Great service for working! Snorkeling to the right with a “boat wreck”. Sunsets right over the water & is gorgeous. We would definitely stay here again!

Perfect for after ferry camping ! Clear water

Report Check-In

Report Check-In

Great little spot with calm waters for paddleboarding and snorkeling.

it's a small parking lot with no amenities but there is good Telcel signal.

great free spot for a couple of days!

Report Check-In

We went there for the afternoon to get out of the wind, which was great. Calm water and amazing snorkeling on the west side. A little too much road noise and people coming and going for us and the dogs, so when the wind let up a little before sunset we headed back to Tecelote, which is a way prettier beach buy the snorkeling itself was worth the stop.

Report Check-In

Beautiful crowded but so sweet correct we passed the little bridge ( we are 23 foot trailer

Report Check-In

We spent a night here so we could be close to Balandra Bay in the morning. It pays to get there around 7 am to secure a parking spot. The day we went ( Friday) it filled up by about 9 am and closed at 2 pm due to Covid.
The sunset at Pichiingue was awesome. There was some people who arrived late and cranked their stereo but we were tucked in to the far end of the beach over by the rocks and far from the restaurant so we barely heard it.
This would also be a great spot to stay the day before the ferry trip to Mazatlan. You can see the ferry terminal from this beach.

Report Check-In

A great spot! It’s a great place to camp if you are headed to Balandra the next day or if you have to catch the ferry to Mazatlan. You can see the ferry terminal from this beach.

Report Check-In

Good location, just have to pick your parking spot.
We were on the little sand pit with other campers at first but ‘authorities’ (uniformed armed guys, masked) banged on our doors midnight to make us move. In addition, the water from sea of Cortez enters the wash/ crossing early in the morning so unless you wait till the tide subsides, you are stuck in your vehicle. I’m guessing based on the past reviews, how high the tide rises could be dependent on time of the month/ year.

It’s ok to park on the ‘other’ beach but it’s difficult for big rigs (>30’) to make the turn at the bridge. Also, many campers had their chairs and picnic stuff stolen overnight on that beach. Chain your stuff/ watch out for each other!

The ‘authorities approved to park on the big lot before the bridge/ outside the sand pit. No problem turning around for even semis. See photo.

Nice views and bird watching. Lots of sailboats dock at this bay so sunset makes great pictures.

Every other day, very loud music from locals (anytime between 12am-4am). We were ok for most part except once a group was playing music past midnight and talking loudly just within 5 feet from our camper (there were both male and females). After a couple hours, we told them politely we couldn’t sleep and they moved. The next day, we cleaned up a bunch of beer cans and bottles they left behind.

Be careful if you park in the mangroves. Over a week, we watched how the tide changed. At the highest, it flooded the mangroves area.

Great swimming and snorkeling! Telcel, and T-Mobile coverage.

Report Check-In

Don’t come here. A big gang showed up to party at 1am

Report Check-In

Got here at 8pm, place got empty by 10pm no one here so we slept off. It’s 1am right now a entourage of cars came in to party, they surrounded our van from all sides and blasted music in the hopes we leave the beach and we did. I guess it was cause of weekend.

Report Check-In

As described before. We stayed on a sunday - during the day there were many people partying but they left in the evening so we had a quiet night.

Report Check-In

We occasionally will stay at this beach if we don’t feel like driving all the way out to Playa Tecolote. It’s not even remotely as nice, but it’s a bit closer to town and has full LTE service on Verizon; Tecolote has no signal at all.

Report Check-In

We arrived in LaPaz during Carnival, which was a total shot show to say the least. Took an hour just to drive across the town. We were so annoyed that we just left and kept driving, and found this spot; blissfully quiet and as far from traffic and people as possible!

Report Check-In

Report Check-In

really nice spot. it is quiet beach most of the times. morning can be crowded of people that go on whale watching tour, and night can be noisy from local playing music loudly. but it is not everyday. the beach is clean and pretty. good spot for swimming, kayaking, snorkeling, paddle boarding, or just hang out. there are two restaurant near by the spot too. spot is roughly paved so 2wd can easily park here.

Report Check-In

do not sleep in mangroves! floods when tide comes in!

Report Check-In

great spot near ferry (few mins away) best spot to camp in the name mangroves, more private there. lots of locals throughout day and often (but not always) late at night, but they are chill and we felt safe. water was clear and calm and refreshing. great spot to spend a night or two before or after ferry ride.

Report Check-In

easily accessible with any vehicle. nice beach and nice snorkeling at high tide. enter at the beach and snorkel South along the reef, there is some remains of a ship wreck aswell. some glass and trash lying around but not too bad when we were there. there are trash bins though. slept there for more than a week. Some days were a bit noisy but OK. during day and evening some locals enjoy the beach drink beer and listen to music, why not. made bonfires at the beach aswell. close to La Paz. 4G telcel reception. really liked the place. also good for a night before taking the ferry.

Report Check-In

Good spot for a day or two. Definitely wouldn’t stay here on the weekend, lots of locals with loud music and littering the beach, we cleaned up about 70 cans of beer. However super awesome swimming spot, super clear water and lovely fishes!

Report Check-In

A great place to spend the day or night. We stayed with three campers in March 2018 and loved the place.
Easily accessible with any vehicle. There's a restaurant only a 5min walk down the beach. Good food, a bit pricey... so we've heard anyways.
The kayaking along the shore to the right is great and so is the snorkelling.
