Something not right?

Description

We are driving a class B motorhome and parked right on the beach with a Palapa for 20.00 US. They have full hook-up for $55.00, but there is a free dump station (if you camp there). We did not use the bathrooms so I can’t report on them. Wi-Fi at restaurant, spotty 3g/LTE at campsites.

Top dollar but top quality campground. The facilities are spotless, nice bar and restaurant with pretty decent food. The only problem is that they don't take cards, all transactions are cash only.

Report Check-In

Beautiful spot and friendly staff. We stayed a night and though it’s a little pricier for Baja standards, it was great! We also had to visit the Pete’s camp fire and medical station just up the street because our young daughter cut her forehead. They were so nice in giving us care and made us feel so safe and taken care of. Would stop again for sure!! The beach walks were amazing!!

Report Check-In

Great place to rest up , do laundry, get groceries before heading down the Baja

Report Check-In

One star deserves the good location right on the beach. But it’s overpriced. 35$ for dry camping without picnic table, without free shower (there are not even cold one’s outside when you come from swimming in the sea) 55$ for full hoock- up. Theres only a small roof to give you some shade. They charge 3$ for the showers( you don’t pay this either in USA nor in Canada anywhere). We paid in Pesos and they gave a really bad exchange.Definetly I will not recommend it

Report Check-In

Was an easy jumping off point to the border. IBathrooms fine but bring your own TP. Restaurant ‘meh’.

Report Check-In

Place to park as described: concrete pad right on the beach with a shade structure, power and water. Bathrooms OK (bring own TP); could not find the showers. Restaurant 'meh'.

Report Check-In

I just paid $35US here. There are ATVs on the beach. Very Americanized. I much preferred Victors. But still on the hunt for the perfect over the border location.

Report Check-In

Amazing place , solid pads to park on.Full hook ups ,steep driveway in bit was no problem even towing our jeep. Meals were superb at the restaurant and Alex the tender was awesome funny and had a great time !

Report Check-In

Easy to find. There’s a gas station a mile away going south where you can re fuel and buy groceries/water etc.
Pete’s camp has multiple sites for RVs with hooks or you can just camp there. Showers/bathrooms available. Night security. Very quiet. Right next to the bay/ beach

Report Check-In

Beautiful site with either dry camping or full hookups. Very nice flat concrete pads with shade and fire ring. the grounds and bathrooms are kept very clean. The restaurant had good foods and drinks.

Report Check-In

It was a nice campground to stay the night with a pretty view. We just arrived in Mexico so this was a nice spot to acclimate. We stayed 1 night for 20 dollars.

Report Check-In

Very nice camp with concrete pads. Quite beach. It’s a little bit more to dry camp but worth the view

Report Check-In

Very nice place. Concrete pads and right on the beach

Report Check-In

Nice place to land after crossing the border. Concrete platforms with full RV hookups, but you can camp without water and electricity for a lower price. We did no hookup for $35 USD per night. Short walk down to the beach. Nice sand, and you can walk a long ways down the beach both ways.

Report Check-In

when we got there there were three options for camping. Full hookups on the beach for $50. Dry camping on the beach for $35. Dry camping up on the bluff for $20. all USD. we chose the last one. it had a palapa and is a 2 minute walk to the restaurant and a 3 minute walk to the beach. plus, all the beach camping was just rig after rig right next to each other. where we were there was actual space and privacy. no matter what hot showers are $2 USD per shower. The restaurant and bar are fine, if pricey. The entire place just felt like America, though, with prices to match. All Americans there. so much so that at the restaurant even though it was the first day of the World Cup only American Football was on the TV. good landing spot for when you get to Mexico, especially with the free dump station.

Report Check-In

It was alright. Kinda too expensive. We payed 35US$ for one night! It’s a clean camping spot but it’s build like a resort kind of so I’d say it’s glamping. It’s right at the sea but the water was horribly warm after a hot day so no chance of cooling off. There was a water tap (idk if it was drinking water) right next to each individual spot and you can get electricity but that wouldve been $55.

We unfortunately ate at the restaurant in the evening because we didn’t get the chance to buy food during the day. Expect to get frozen and heated up food. It wasn’t bad but it wasn’t good at all either. Maybe that was because we were off season.

there is nicer cheaper places really.

Report Check-In

Nice place, empty because of off season. Still charged me $55 per night, pick any spot only using electric 30a. Restaurant and bar are great, Wi-Fi there only. Cell service spotty at best. Super peaceful when there is no one here!

Report Check-In

$35 usd plus & $2 for a shower. Clean toilets, good restaurant.

Report Check-In

Great place to recharge. Good food and great view. Right on beach.

Report Check-In

Man o man, $55.00 and showers extra. I am looking elsewhere next time through.

Report Check-In

Definitely a place for very big rigs bringing in their (loud) toys on wheels… the backdrop of the campground is all fancy beach homes. Served the purpose of filling up our water tank and empty cassette toilet. Just a couple bathrooms at the beach without TP ( hmm…. camp fee is $55 with hookups or $30 dry camping). All very clean.
Different places suit different people.

Report Check-In

Dry camping fee $30US. Last post here said $20. Were we supposed to bargain? Anyhow, dump station was free and that’s what we wanted before heading back to Mexicali to cross the border. Shower $2.

Report Check-In

This is a top notch campground that definitely isn't for everyone. It is expensive at $55 a night. however it has 15,30,50 Amp service. It is right on the beach. the beach is super clean. There are concrete pads at each site, fire pits were just added. Water spigot at each site as well. The restaurant and bar is spectacular and the food is top notch. sites are also very large. Security also drives through constantly at night.

Is it expensive? Yes. Are you getting your money's worth though? oh yes! great place to land after going across the border or going back.

big rig friendly as well which is why we stayed here as opposed to other camps in San Felipe.

Report Check-In

Well all the old palapas are gone. Even to the north. It’s all the cement pads with Burger King drive through covers for the entire Petes beach. $55 full hook up, but you can dry camp on the described pads without hookups for $30. Or $600 MXN. Same bar and restaurant. Those old palapas were ready for either an overhaul or bulldozing. They chose the latter. Different, more expensive- but what isn’t? MaryJane I hear is down. I don’t know where else you can camp this close to the water-or the mud flat depending on the tide-and have the great restaurant and bar with wifi right here.
There are cheaper camps with less amenities up the hill from the beach. Take your choice..¡salud!

Report Check-In

Don’t listen to the whiners here, this is a nice place. We use it as a stepping-off place when we’re headed north or south. NOT the cheapest place in Baja and there are a lot of gringos but the food is good, the bar is great and the showers are hot. Plus they have security who will shut down the loud campers if you happen to have that issue...

Report Check-In

We are headed north... Needed a place for the night. We are driving a class B motorhome and parked right on the beach with a Palapa for 20.00 US. (They give good exchange rate of 20-1). They have full hook-up for $55.00, but there is a free dump station (if you camp there), which is all we needed.

Report Check-In

Arrived late night from TJ, needed a place to spend the night which had a late check in (they're open till 2200)
showers, safe, and had a "not too sandy" drive in and out, -this place is it.
Palapa right on the beach, spaces to drive into your palapa are very very wide, very clean campsite, good cell signal in this area.
$20 per night, $2 shower.
10/10.

Report Check-In

Definitely the most gringo place I've seen in my entire life. A compound, if you will. An entire gringo colony on the ocean. Expect an exchange rate of about 16 to 1. $22 USD to camp. $2 to shower - towels not provided.

American food menu.

If this is your type of place, great!

if you're looking for something just a tiny bit Mexican, this is not it.

Report Check-In

I did beachfront dry camping for $20 a night. Palapas are run down as is the bathroom and for $20 you still have to pay $2 for a hot shower. Rip off. I won’t return myself as I have been all over Baja and found many much better taken care of places for less.

Report Check-In

Spent 2 nights. Very clean and felt very safe. $20 dry camping. $2 for hot shower. Clean bathroom. Palapas are close together. Had a great full moon bonfire with lovals.

Report Check-In

Guess it depends on what you want, to me this is by far the worst place I've camped in Mexico. If you want to see the worst of snowbird life, come here.

$20 a night to camp, extra charge for a shower, internet only works in the bar or restaurant, lots of big RV's running generators, drunks in the bar yelling at the TV's, sorry, this is what I come to Baja to get away from. Most of the time the Sea of Cortez is a few hundred yards away across the mud flats, not very exciting.

If you want to hang out in a bar with other norteamericanos, get drunk and watch sports, this is the place, otherwise I'd suggest avoiding it.

Report Check-In

Beautiful beach with palapas. Great restaurant and bar were there is wifi. Showers are $2. They are currently putting in cement pads with full hookups and they have 8 ready. $20/night dry camping $55/night for full hookups

Report Check-In

Not our kind of place, but we stopped here after we crossed the border. Not crowded but too many big rigs for our preferred style of camping. Stopped in the bar for a margarita and ate dinner in the restaurant. Both full of loud, drunk gringos. But, the beach walk was good, and it was very quiet at night. It must be crazy here during high season (whenever that is).

Report Check-In

Exactly as previous reviews-all is cash. We paid $20 US.

Report Check-In

descriptions from previous check-ins describe the place well. Not a place for solitude, but easy access, palapas right on the beach, decent restrooms (toilets down by the beach, toilets and showers up by the restaurant), and a broad, sandy, clean beach.

Report Check-In

Hermosa bienvenida!

Report Check-In

Beautiful place for the first night in Baja. We were the only ones camping. Restaurant is bit pricey but has a good view. Payed 18.- for a dry spot right at the beach with some palapas. Dump, Toilets and Shower (2.-) available.

Report Check-In

Place was fine, beach and sand was really nice but it was extremely windy. showers were not hot but you could easily pay $2 and use them without staying.

Report Check-In

Nice camping at the clean beach with palapas and flush toilets. At low tide you can walk a quarter mile to the sea. The view along the beach is great. Only two canadian campers stayed here with us and there are houses and vacation homes around. Check in is at Pete´s restaurant (342 Pesos). Compared with the other RV Parks in San Felipe this one is much better with much more space.

Report Check-In

Nice camping area right on beach. Houses right behind campsites, but still nice. Not many people here now, so mostly have place to ourselves. Too many flies, but a great location. Lots of seashells!

Report Check-In

Safe and abundant space right on the beach. $2 charge for clean bathrooms on top of the $18 camping fee. Dogs are welcome only at you camping palapa. Would still totally use again.

Report Check-In

Great camping on the
Beach with Palapas. Plenty of room, the sandy beach goes out 1/4 mile at low tide. Very clean flush toilets, hot showers and a great restaurant. $20 a night but the security and daily raked beach is worth it. Restaurant seems pricy but food is great. Certainly not wild camping but good place to enjoy the beach and shower up.
