More than a few nice turnout spots on this graded dirt road. Go further up and the place pictured has a great view of the ocean and valley below. Waves crashing and sounds of seals travel up the valley. There are several tent sites near this spot in the trees.
Go up Willow Creek Road (23S01) off hwy 1. Look for the Treebones Yurt Resort and turn left up the dirt road with "impassable in wet weather" sign.
We don't have any photos of this place yet.
Why? By checking in after you’ve visited a place you let others know this place is still functional. You can also add or correct any information.
When entering the road, there is a sign that staying overnight in tent or car is prohibited. So this place should be removed.
Report Check-InI actually stayed a little way up the road at another turn out. Lots of good spots on this road.
Report Check-InI’d like to call this place “Rainforest Heaven”. The drive up was a bit of trouble, we did pop a tire on a 4WD but was understandable given the poor condition it was in prior to driving up. Just be careful, there’s no cell service at all. Don’t have to go too up on the drive for a camp spot but if it’s full don’t hesitate on this. Number one camp I’ve ever discovered on this platform.
Report Check-Insimplemente increible este lugar. La vista y los atardeceres son sonados.
Simply amazing this place. The view and sunsets are sounded.
Report Check-InGreat spot in Big Sur. Local came by after dark and told us we couldn't park along the road. there is a new sign near route 1 that says "no camping", but not specific to the sites. most of the locals are really nice. respect the land and this place should stay open.
Report Check-InFun road to drive if you have the right vehicle. 4WD and higher clearance recommended. Convenient spot off the highway with stunning views.
Report Check-InThere is a sign on the CA 1 , says Treebones... easy enough.
Very rough steep winding dirt road with pull outs. Some better than others. A few are outstanding!
For gosh sakes people get yourselves a portable toilet. They are cheap, and so much more convenient than squatting in the dirt.
This is the best camp site I have ever been to. I made it all the way to this turn out in a 2WD Toyota Corolla. A slightly steep hill in the very beginning but nothing too bad. Found a decent sized canopy of trees on this corner with a dig out fire pit and a stunning view of the ocean. I would come back here, no hesitation.
Report Check-InA beautiful view and super friendly locals. You can also pitch a tent if you walk in a little. Please keep this spot sacred, clean and quiet. Had a beautiful stay.
Report Check-InAs described, several pullouts, lots of others in vans/cars/RVs. No signs were apparent stating no overnighting. The road is quite steep in places although saw cars (honda civic) and motorbike on the road.
