This location was actively patrolled when we stopped on a Sunday night. Unsure of any fines or tickets as they were very friendly and relocated to the local rest area due south.
Report Check-InTHIS IS AN ILLEGAL CAMP AND TRESPASSING. SITE CLOSED PER LOCAL SHERIFF.
Report Check-InStayed at this spot for 4 nights no issues. The 4th night another camper joined us since this spot could fit 2 vans/campers. Very thin road going into here, but never passed anyone when we drove to this spot. Good Verizon reception.
Report Check-InCame in late evening before sunset. Was able to park in the first turn-out; the second two were already taken by similar travelers. A quiet spot with almost no traffic. There was one vehicle in the middle of the night that passed by courteously. We woke to a beautiful view of a small fishing boat in the middle of the lagoon. The birds were singing and we had a great view of the ocean on the other side of the lagoon. Redwood Creek picnic area is just down the hill on Hwy 101 that has bathrooms. Not far from that is water. This is a great overnight stopping spot!
Report Check-InAll these turn offs along the road are private property. Was told by a local to ask if I could post asking people to stop using these turnouts.
Report Check-InGreat place to stay for the night. Just a pulloff off the old highway but nobody bothered us and had room for 2 cars. Pretty view of the lagoon and the ocean.
Report Check-InSmall pulloff. Was here with one other vehicle. Pretty area. Fairly secluded
Report Check-InA pulloff overlooking the lagoon. big enough for 2 or 3 rigs. Had some locals honk their horn at us after dark and then duck hunters shooting at dawn. Not much else around here though so take what you can get.
Report Check-InReally just a pull off with enough room to get off the road. Decent enough spot for one night to get some rest. Luckily there isn't much traffic on the old hwy road so it was quite all night.
Report Check-InBeautiful overlook, very quiet. Great stars. Only got passed by three cars all day, and none at night.
There’s not really a good way to get to the water, unlike some of the photos this pull-off is on a cliff overlooking the lagoon.
T-Mo reception: FullBars & LTE (very fast)
Report Check-Inthis place has gotten popular! I would recommend arriving early if you plan on staying here. there are 3 large pull offs on this road that we're already taken on a Tuesday, but we were able to use a small pull off in our passenger van. Good google fi LTE.
Report Check-InFound a small flat spot to put up a 2 person tent without an issue. The brush along the road was fairly overgrown, but nothing too unmanageable to move around outside of the tent. 1 vehicle passed at around 8pm and then no others the remainder of the night. Great spot!!
Report Check-Instayed here last night.. perfect spot and could hear the ocean all night. woke up to hundreds of ducks splashing g around I the lagoon below. good tmobile service. I arrived late at night, and the storm two nights prior was hurricane force so the old road had debri all over it but nothing you cant drive over
.
Slept here for one night in our SUV, a van was staying here for the night, too. Was quiet during the night, but in the morning some hunters were shooting ducks in the lagoon.
Report Check-InQuiet spot for an overnight right next to the water. We only had one car pass by in the early morning. We have a 24’ Airstream trailer and for just fine. The road in is a bit rough, but it’s short and manageable if you drive slowly. No place to walk the dog, other than the road itself.
Report Check-Init was great. small pull out and we stayed in our vw westy. had a little tear drop trailer and suv pull in behind us for the night.
Report Check-InWe’re here with two other Campers.
We just fit in.
We rocked up at 8pm on a Thursday.
2 Campers can fit comfortably, 3 at a squeeze.
It’s free and quiet.
Petit emplacement magnifique. Nous y avons passer la nuit avec notre school bus de 30 feet.
Report Check-InTiny place with good view for overnight parking. not any place for tents.
Report Check-InA few pull outs on a very quiet street. Felt safe and comfortable. Had a goodnight sleep here.
Report Check-InBeautiful spot with a great view of the lagoon. Just off the side of a small back road. T-mobile and at&t service.
Report Check-Infirst spot was taken, we drove up the road to find this super spot. quiet, beautiful, grassy.
Report Check-InStayed at one of the pull offs on the top of the hill. Not big enough for vans but perfect for a car. Had an amazing view of the lagoon and a little bit of ocean. You can hear cars from the highway way below but the side road had no cars on it all night. I got here at 7pm and left at 8am. No amenities available ~
Report Check-InGood and quiet spot for one night. We shared it with one other camper
Amazing sunset
Stayed there two nights. Close to southern part of National Park.
It’s not a camping spot. It’s an overnight parking spot.
There are 4 or 5 pull offs along this long, rough (2wd easy) and windy road (Old State Hwy), but this one is the only one with a view on lagoon and ocean behind. There’s room for two vans, so please share. A van parked behind me the first night, so that was cool. Not much traffic.
No amenities, obviously.
AT&T was good.
Just a turnout on the side of Old Highway road. Didn’t seem like much when we pulled in at night but it was quiet and dark so we didn’t mind. Upon awakening there was a beautiful view of the lagoon and ocean. Would sleep here again
Report Check-InStayed 1 night, arrived about 7pm left 7:30 am. Heard a few cars drive by, nobody ever stopped. Quiet place to stay.
Report Check-InSolid place for a night - we stayed on a Friday night and were not bothered. Only a couple cars drove by during the night.
Report Check-InOkay spot. You can hear the noise from the road. A car passed by 3 times and the third time, it stopped and the passenger came out and asked me if I knew a place "to score". I assumed he meant drugs, so I told him I didn't smoke and he left. An hour later, two homless men came by and stopped nearby. I think I took their usual spot because I saw them set up tents a bit further down the street. Being a solo female traveler, I didn't feel safe here, so I left, even if it was almost dark.
Report Check-InNice and quite. Couple other overnighters stayed anywhere on the road where a spot was avalible. couple pullouts along that road you could squeeze into. Saw maybe 4 vehicles on the road all night / morning. Good scenery and birds.
Report Check-InJust a pull off on the side of the road but very quite. Only saw one car pass the whole night. Good spot since there are not a lot of options in the area.
Report Check-InAs stated... really quiet and peaceful. Plus great T Mobile and ATT reception. State road getting here is not kept up that well, but still in fairly good condition. Fell asleep to the frogs croaking and beautiful views.
Report Check-InGreat little spot overlooking the lagoon and the ocean. I saw a black bear when I was coming up the road! Super quiet, only one car has driven by. There’s only space here for maybe 2 vans or 1 RV. I’m just sleeping here in my SUV.
Report Check-InVery nice place. Conveniently close to the national park. Quiet. No traffic on this tiny road.
