We found this place as night was rapidly approaching. We had just gotten through the border but didn't think we'd make it to San Ignacio before dark. We were in full view of the road but it was a large flat area with guard-rail protection from the road. Traffic was minimal and so we had a quiet night of sleep. Free.

Totally exposed to road and as a tent camper didn't feel it to be that suitable. There is very little else else between San Ignacio and the boarder. I found a camp just after the town in the grounds of a hotel - just a few k after town, on te left hand side you will see several white chalet like structures. Certainly not normally a campsite but probably OK in low season.
Report Check-InCertainly provided a bit of excitement for the locals going past during daylight hours.

We got a few curious looks in the morning but no one bothered us. Camped here with Lost in the Americas. Free.
