Great for both tent and rv camping! Gabulous views, right on the water. Showers are a bit of a hike, open air, but had great hot water. Highly recommend.

Great views on the CO river. Electric, water at the site with dump in the park. Quiet. Sites are fine, not perfect. It’s 7 (surface road not highway miles) to get just to the perimeter of Austin so you want to leave once and come back once each day. Tmobile bars fluctuate from 1-3 5G. Stayed in a 22ft Wolf Pup for 5 nights.

Lot of hippies around on a Thursday night. Hard 2 sleep. Hot showers. Camp sites not level. Water spigots at most sites. Not a bad spot but not great. Just more noisy than most state parks due to proximity to city.

Great campground, nicely spread out with plenty of flat spots in primitive camping, even some decent tree cover, depending on the site. Current construction isn’t disruptive to camping though the porta-potties got cleaned around 8AM. There’s a map to help you choose a site online before you pay. There were also campers who rolled up late night and left super early, probably for free. Check out is listed on the site as 10AM but I stayed until 2PM and nobody bothered me. Could be the time of year? The space is well-maintained but there seems to be very little oversight.

Arrived after sunset and paid the $10 fee at the parking kiosk at the entrance to the park. It accepts cards and COINS (!!) only. The camping spots are near the lake. Some are on the lake. It was a warm day evening for winter, and still there were very few camping spots taken. In the warmer months I imagine you might want to reserve a spot in advance. Each site has a picnic table, a fire ring and a barbecue grill. 14 days max per month.

Campsites on water’s edge. Able to drop kayak in from campsite. Excellent find and will definitely be back.

We arrived in the evening. On a sign it says you can pay at the pay station but the station is just for the park entrance fee so we purchased tickets for $10 and one for the entrance fee. But in the morning the park lady woke us up and told us the next time we have to make a reservation on the internet.
The green and the blue part are the $10 sites for vans and the yellow one is for tents and the red is with power and water.

nice campground with powered or unpowered sites. Lots of pecan trees that you can gather nuts in November. very quiet and the river is so calm it seems more like a lake. We stayed for a week and really enjoyed it.
