Description

Abandoned campground on the side of the road but still hidden by trees and fences. Huge gate & sign "Campo Santo Viejo" at both of the entrance (if going from north to south or the opposite). It's located on MEX120 so you don't have to take a narrow & steep road to get there (like most of the camp spots around)! You can easily come with your massive 2wd bus if you want:)))

There is a parking lot that can fit many RVs but if you have a small rig you can take the path and park on the field near the playground. There's a Pemex right next to the spot with toilets for 5$ (not sure of the opening hours).

We stayed one night, it wasn't too loudy. Few people stopped in the parking lot for a break and some kids played in the picnic area (big roof with lights open at night).

Camper vibrates to the sound of poor bass. Cielo camp was closed so we were forced to stay here. Monday night. What could go party wrong, we thought. Everything. There’s a trend here to pull in. Blast your music for 10 songs. Then leave. It goes on periodically throughout the night. Plus the place is a human bathroom and dumping site. Head into town you’ll be happier and more rested.

We spent one night here in the middle of the week and that was more than enough! We had asked before if it was safe, we were told it was and there was no crime here. It's true, but on the other hand the young people with music and alcohol paraded until 5 am... The police even came to make a round. So if you want to have a drink and relive your 20s, go there with your eyes closed. If you are looking for tranquility, go your way. Too bad, the area is very nice!

Great quiet place for a stopover. Rained all night so no kids invading our peace. True, the town is not much, compared to the others around, so a place to sleep is all you can ask of this place.

Active construction site. Respectfully parked out of their work zone with no problems. Miner road noise at night, felt very safe.

Wouldn’t rec this place unless your desperate!!!! Town is nothing special and this spot attracts cars full of young adults drinking and playing loud music till all hours... their music was so loud you could hear it next door at the Pemex

Tuesday night was very quiet. a few cars came, turned around and left. convenient for a stop for a night since its right next to the road.

Report Check-In

Very nice place. HOWEVER, it was very noisy at night, many people coming and going (it was Thursday night). The police came to check and everything fine. We wouldn’t stay again. The town is nothing spectacular.

Really nice spot on this road. We had a really good night sleep. We parked in the back near the playground. We were hidden from the street.
