Pull-out With Views | Wild Camping

The area is big and easy to enter. However we had a scary experience there. Around 10pm when we were already sleeping people came and tried to open our doors shined their flashlights inside our van and were banging on the walls. As soon as we made our presence clear that we were inside the van. They slowly left. However very scary experience. We ended moving to the campground just past the park entrance.

The "driveway" entrance is very eroded and probably impossible to go up without 4x4. Just 100 mtrs south is a large area with easy access across the road. So yeah but take the left path for a clean area. We're had incredible views of the volcano both in the afternoon and the next morning.

We stayed here after almost getting stuck at the other wild camp spot down the road. This place is beautiful, there’s a bit of trash laying around but if you drive a bit further you’ll find a dip in the hill which will give you first class views.

Camped there overnight. Weather and clouds move in fast at 13200ft. We set up the tent after waiting out a storm of freezing rain(you can take shelter in abandoned building 2km south of there) we could barely see the volcano. Surprising amount of truck traffic can be noisy because their are climbing a grade. Cold night but the next morning we were greeted by amazing and clear view of the volcano. 1h later it was buried in clouds. Amazing place to camp for the view but I dont recommend if you dont have warm sleeping bags.

You can continue a bit and you'll be almost hide of the road by a little hill. One of our bests campsite in ecuador! The views are awesome.

We stopped here for lunch and to take in the ever-changing views of Volcán Chimborazo. Might be a good place to bush camp. Free.
