If you go in low season the camping is free. There are a lot of amenities such as electricity, run water, showers, toilets, grillers and tables. You can stay very close to the Uruguay River. It is a very nice and quiet place. Don´t forget to buy the grosery before you came because it is a bit expensive.

tent camping one person 350 a night showers are wood fire heated no WiFi you have to pay and check-in at the south entrance

The campsite is free until 08 December but you must check in at the south entrance. We were the only ones in the beautiful north area. Electricity and water easily available. Washrooms are open but there was no hot water for shower. The attendant warned us that this would be the case. Very quiet and peaceful. Lots of shade among the trees. No wifi.

There are 4 or 5 pins her on ioverlander, all linking to the same town which has become a large camp site (or is it the other way round?). The girl on the gate suggested that the El Paraiso section is the quietest part of the park, and many sections have electricity and water taps. The section at the other end of playa Grande had more space and a better shop but was definitely busier.
Wi-Fi only available outside the Antel stop on the beach front, not across the park.
The centre of the site is full of day use parking and picnic areas. It would be easy and fine to actually camp at the wild beach front nearer the industrial museum , and just come to Las Canas for showers and to top up with water, all for free.
The camping admin office is based at the southern entrance, further away from Fray Bentos.

no other people here when we spend the night. Beautiful sunset at the river.
Showers were not hot but clean. The toilets too.
We paid 360 Peso for a van and 2 persons when the staff arrive in the morning.

Lovely lactation. Beautiful sunset. Simpel but fin. Toilets not so great. But free.

Perfect place at this time of year and free! Bathrooms but no showers in the off season. We had amazing sunny warm days and rarely saw anyone. The police patrol the area about three times a day and are very friendly. Clean awesome place to stay. 4.5 since there were no showers!

Not much to add. Nice place, showers were nice and hot. Bathrooms very clean. Neither empty nor crowded 5 days before Easter. Paid 450 peso for a camper van and a family of four.

2 person + tent = UYU 180 per person per night

Nice camp on the river. Clean, good toilet & shower, was pretty quiet when we were there, full but no parties, cops roll past every hour or 2. They sell beer, wood and basic food at the mini market in the camp. Recommend (Also, try to catch the sunset)

It’s a very good campsite spread over a large area along the river. Now, in high season, you are greeted and given information when entering the area. You register and pay at the administration south from here (450uyu flat for 1-4 ppl in a motorhome) and choose freely from a vast number of sites. bathrooms vary, the ones near the admin office are new, have hot water and are constantly kept impeccably clean.
highly recommended!

great and quite place! when we were there the place was only manned on weekends so it was for free for us to stay. a ton of parillas and camping tables, beach to have a swim and a shop with wood and alimentaries 900m away. toilets and showers (cold) stay open at all time. beautiful!!!

Beautiful campground. We were the only ones here on the last Saturday in October. Very clean. Bathrooms were open and clean. Great camping spot for people with a rooftop tent. Were able to park under trees near the river. Water tap nearby. We didn't see anywhere to pay and since October is low season, we camped for free.

Like the former visitors said, it´s a very nice campground with shady sites, concrete picnic benches some power plugs, hot showers and BBQ places right next to the beautiful sandy beach of Rio Uruguay.
BUT: Camping is NOT FREE! We pitched up our tent under some trees maybe 30 m away from the beach front. Next morning two employees of the campground came and checked if we have a receipt from paying the camping fee in the office. As we didn´t we had to walk to the office which is located right in the middle of the huge area a couple of hundred meters South of where we camped. There we had to pay about 380 Peso for 2 persons 1 tent and 1 night and had to attach the receipt to our tent so it will be visible for the controllers. Not cheap but the place is really beautiful.

Large campground with tables, grills and beach access to river beaches. We were here in late March and alone, but this place might be busy in summer. Great for tent campers but trees so low rigs will not fit into many places. We parked in large parking area near river ( still surrounded by trees). Free. Bathrooms were a bit run down but clean. Our showers were cold.

Next to the water, a lot of shadow, hot showers and a small Kiosk. Camping is for free!
