Description

perfect spot to stay during Huayna Potosí summit climb. we parked our Montero just outside and could use their bathrooms. 12 bunk beds if you should need them.

Domi (la seńiora) mostly had sopas and almuerzos for very reasonable prices (please don't expect too much variety on the menu as this is harsh high altitude country and the next market is 20km away). plus she is the sopita Queen;)

Adrian (el señor) is a guide himself and can organize a local expedition to Potosí summit.
but you can also climb independently like us!

they are very welcoming to Overlanders and at the time of this writing they we're building more plane parking spots (no big rigs).

Latest Check-Ins

We stayed 5 days at Adrián’s place. The ripio from La Paz to his Refugio is good. Adrián and his wife Domi are very welcoming. We could sleep in our van while using their toilets. Indeed Domi’s soups are great!
Adrián was our guide to climb the Huayna Potosí, we had a lot of fun:
- 1st day: training on the glacier (3h),
- 2nd day: 2.5h hike to the campo alto (5300m),
- 3rd day: climb from the campo alto to the summit (6088m), waking up at midnight.
Adrián is a great guide. He might not have all the gears available for renting however can get those from his network if necessary.
Plan to stock food accordingly, there is no shop around.
