Something not right?

Description

The official price for foreigners is 16,800 pesos per person per night plus 12,500 pesos for a vehicle (Jan 2024) . See photos.
For that reason we would not recommend this place.

Nice site and helpful owner José, El Negro. Clean toilets (new toilets and sinks) with hot showers with good pressure, potable water, plenty of places to have a BBQ and electricity on site. Very clean facility.
New as of 2023: has WiFi. Kiosk only open in peak season.

Report Check-In

If you only want to have a hot shower, no time limit, it costs 2,000.

Report Check-In

Unfortunately this has to be our first negative review of a campsite in Argentina. This campsite seems to have "new prices" (you can see the official price list in the photos). Camping for foreigners costs 16800 p.p. per night and the fee for a van is 12500 per night. So the total price for 2 people with a vehicle would be 46100 pesos per night for a rather dusty camp site with very limited leveled parking spots.
It's obviously a scam and when we refused to pay the "tarifa extranjera" we were told we can pay the "tarifa nacional", which still seems to be highly inflated, considering reviewers paid 4000 pesos for 2 people and a van exactly one month ago and we had to pay 15000!

The facilities are ok, pretty old but clean.

We would recommend staying at one of the many wild camping spots in the area unless you desperately need a camp site but then make sure to negotiate.

Report Check-In

Unfortunately, also this campsite changed there prices significantly. The price for foreigners is now 16 800 pesos per person and this is even without paying for the car separately. We were pretty disappointed since it is quite a detour as well. The super friendly guy from the campsite offered us to pay the national price, which is still 5600 pesos per person excluding the car of 3000 pesos. We found a cute accommodation instead which was 15 000 pesos total (Alojamientos Macarena: +54 297414294). For us it made more sense to stay at an accommodation for the same price. The wind was to strong for us to stay at the free campsite (no facilities).

Report Check-In

Really recommend this camping! Very relaxed. Plenty of space. Hot showers, place to wash plates, barbecue spots, electricity - the usual, but clean and nice. You have a nice view to the water and the town is nice to walk around. Veerry quiet :)

Ficamos duas noites aqui, campinho bom, muito tranquilo, banheiros limpos porém não tem água quente nas duchas femininas. Aquecimento de caldeira no masculino água quente não dura muito mas foi ok.

Report Check-In

Currently the price is 4000 pesos for 2 people and 1 vehicle. The men toilets was flooded, the women showers were unusable. Only the men showers got some heating and hot water. There is wifi around the reception, the Claro signal is very weak. The responsible is a nice guy and it is in front of the beach.

Report Check-In

Very nice campground and cheap, 400pp and 200 for the van. Wifi at the reception, some sheltered places.

Report Check-In

By far the nicest campground we have stayed in in three months in Argentina for the price. Some improvements have been made since the last check-in:
1. They have wi-fi! It works by the office, barely at our campsite, as usual.
2. New sinks and toilets: comments on "old and dated" still apply to the buildings. Everything was very clean when we arrived (off season).
3. We stayed here for two nights, 250 pesos per camper, 400 pesos per person.

Report Check-In

We stayed here for two calm nights. 1050 pesos for two adults with motor home. Very close to the beach/harbour. Facilities are old but clean.

Report Check-In

nc Azimut 270: out of season only 3 or 4 campers beautiful pitches and well located sanitary facilities dilapidated but clean correct price

Report Check-In

Very nice. Beautifully located on the oceanside. Cool breeze but not too windy. 700pesos per night for 2 plus motorhome. Potable water. Spacing is a bit tight and it was hard to find a level place. Cleaned at least twice per day. Lots of campers on a Saturday night but Alberto silenced the boom-boom music group.

Report Check-In

Still a good place for a stop.
We stayed here for one night - clean and hot showers, flat places for parking the RV.
It is in front of the sea, but well protected from the wind.
We payed 820 pesos for two + the car with roof tent.

Nice campground as described by others. We arrived at heavy rain so driving out to wild camping towards the Pinguin reserve was not an option for the night.

Report Check-In

Came to stay for one night but in the end three nights at this beautiful place. We liked Camarones a lot and the camping is very nice. Paid 540 for two people, car included, for the first night. Then 340 for each night for both persons. Nice camp manager, very clean bathrooms, nice hot showers. Still no WiFi, though they told us that they're currently in discussion with the municipality about installing one. Maybe next year, who knows. 😊

Report Check-In

Good showers and parrillas. It has good protection for the wind too. The manager is great and very friendly. There's a small store to buy food (empanadas, torta fritas, pizza, beer). No wifi.

Report Check-In

Really nice camp site with sea view and a very nice manager! Cleanest bathrooms we‘ve seen in the last weeks. If you stay for more than one night, you only have the pay the price per person, the price for the camper is charged only once.

Report Check-In

Nice big place with nice operator. Sanitary facilities are clean and functional. A large grill and table system is available and can also be very good as a windbreak.
Beach is across the street.
Highly recommended!

Report Check-In

Price is now 510 pesos (2p plus car). Hot shower still a trickle.
The penguin colony is a must! A natural setting, more so than Punta Tombo. Great ranger too, very friendly, speaks English.

Report Check-In

Very friendly owner. Nice and clean camping space. A lot of good parillas.
Definitely recommended.
No WiFi.

Report Check-In

We decided not to stay here but paid 60 per person for a shower. The showers are not good, low pressure (you have to back against the wall to get wet) and the hot water ran out right away. It was clean. Would rather wild camp than stay here.

Report Check-In

The whole campground including the facilities is exceptionally clean and in very good condition. Large area. Separate sinks for washing laundry and dishes. A whole hallway of toilets & showers.

The site manager Jose (calls himself "el negro") is very kind and helpful: when our van wouldn't start in the morning it took him exactly 5 minutes to organize a qualified mechanic who helped us get on our way.

Report Check-In

We arrive around 20h and Jose was at administration. Nice and helpful guy. Hot showers, electricity on site, no WiFi, good bathrooms, a little restaurant with simple food.

They really made a very nice upgrade of the place (we stayed here during our trip in 2001) - nice people as well, onside restaurant. Windprotection, Poweroutlets.

Report Check-In

Although it looked closed (with piles of sand behind the main gate), there was an entrance 100m after that gate. Bathroom was clean and showers were hot. No wifi or movistar reception, but there's a free internet that you can register to use in front of the city hall (I didn't). Someone came to collect. 100 pesos per person plus 100 for the van.

Report Check-In

Camp is fully done. Very neat and clean toilets. Cost is 100pp + 150 for motohome(I think it's a one off cost). Too expensive for one night We stayed next to beach with great view for free on way to penguins :)
