Something not right?

Description

Huge piece of land between the sea, the river and the small village.
It's possible to drive directly to the shore of the sea, or stay at large grassy spots or, as we did, park on pebbles.

Nov22: the grassy area and some of the pebble area get flooded at high tide. Tidal range is large here. The only area that didn’t flood was the pebbles “in line” with the end of pine trees.

Nuit très calme. Mais un petit conseil, consulter les horaires de marées pour voir où vous vous posez et ne pas avoir les pieds dans l’eau 😅

Report Check-In

Spot très calme sans aucun bruit durant la nuit.

Nice quiet place. Only one other vehicle when we were here. Watch the tide, don’t park too far away from the road leading to this place.

Report Check-In

Magnifique lieu ! Facile d’accès, soit par le port soit par la forêt. Même en kombi

About the tide : today, the coefficient is 79, the water stop some meters before the bush.

Good luck with yours alarms during the night 😅

Report Check-In

We spent two peaceful nights here, waking up to watch swans and ducks feeding themselves in the tide pools. As it's off season, there were no other rigs and also very few locals. We heard a car passing by (going fishing?) early Saturday morning but nothing else disturbed you sleep.

en van. superbe spot. quelques pickup sont venu boire un peu avec de la musique mais ne nous ont pas derangé longtemps (mais ont laissé tout leur débris...). tres bonne nuit. couché de soleil super.

Report Check-In

Beautiful spot by the river. Not allot of people and some spots to make a fire.
Watch out for the tide

Report Check-In

excellent place, very quiet and beautiful… we arrived around 1 am… be very careful where you park, the tide rises a lot and very fast 😂

Report Check-In

A great spot BUT be very careful with the tide range. We parked right against the bushes along the river right near where the end (some fire pits)and woke to water at 2am. It was spring tide so higher tide and when we looked it up next morning there can be a 6m tidal range in this area. If you park 20m in from the top dirt road you will be fine.

First time we have been grateful to have been woken by the arrival of drunk youngster in early hours, they didn’t bother us but their arrival allowed us to spot the water and move quickly.

On the beach
Good for Big rigs
Calme facile d accès pour grand véhicules

Beautiful spot by the river with ocean view
Was quiet and police came by in the evening to check on us. They were very friendly and told us that they patrol the area during the night.
Park far in the back (next to the bushes by the river was fine) as the tide comes in very far. The whole grassy area and even the higher hills on the beach were flooded in the morning

Report Check-In

Absolutley beautiful! We went there to have breakfast and there was no one there. I can imagine also staying there for the night is great!

Report Check-In

OK for the night. Lots of people driving and walking by at night, even though it was very rainy. One spot that is hidden from the road. Otherwise lots of flat spots. Not easy to find a private place to use the "facili-trees" (wild bathroom)

Report Check-In

As described, nice and quiet but could see how it might be full of locals on sundays. Best parking is near the fire rings next to the river. Upper toward partially paved up to the shingled church. Lots of birds.

Report Check-In

Very fine description. Quiet spot next to the river with huge space. Recommanded before taking the ferry at Caleta La Arena.

Report Check-In

We slept here for one night . Lovely view of the bay. Tide does come in very far. We parked near fire pits. Water came right up to the car. Some rubbish around (took a little with us) but otherwise beautiful! Heard some big container ships go by, otherwise very quiet.

Report Check-In

huge place with many spots for making a campfire (bring wood). very good mobile internet with Entel (works for video calls).

Report Check-In

Warning!
The river can flow the hole arerra in one our two houres. We camp here and in the night suddenly there was water all around us! We stand with the camper 70 cm in water!

Report Check-In

Really nice and quiet spot in front of the sea. Take care when it's coming up! Carabineros came around 11pm but did not stop. 4g with Entel.

Report Check-In

Lots of leveled spaces to choose from. Next to the river and nice ocean views. Good for one night before taking the ferry. Suitable for all type of rigs. No facilities, just water from the river if needed.

Report Check-In

Ok to stay for the night. Easy to find a levelled spot with rv. nice views on the ocean.

Report Check-In

is a quiet place, but been very attentive to high tide. especially if you are in tent. choose place high. 3 am at night, in Van, we were submerged up to half of the wheels. Fortunately the floor and paving stones and reverse we're out. the high tide of up to the first case. doesn't make you inganare from nice grassy space !!

Report Check-In

I'm not sure what was the issue for the others thus is a pretty perfect boondocking spot. quite and nice views. a couple of cars stopped by but it was otherwise great.

Report Check-In

We checked this place out but it was very busy. Lots of people working on boats and locals having evening pic nics. Not secluded enough for us.

Report Check-In

Really beautiful spot before the first ferry. Lots of room to spread out and enjoy with a bit of privacy. Carabineros passed by around dark but didn’t stop. A few locals on bikes and fisherman but no loud music or any other noise while we were here. Great find!

Report Check-In

Huge piece of land between the sea, the river and the small village.
It's possible to drive directly to the shore of the sea, or stay at large grassy spots or as we did park on pebbles. Basically all flat, depending on the spot hidden from the road which is anyway about 400 m away (where we stayed). 5 m from the Lenca, small forests either side, several fireplaces but no firewood.
As it rained heavily during the entire time of our visit we chose the pebbles. No problem to get in or out here, but the grass was very soaked.
Any vehicle will do. At the bus shelter at the main road take a right down and follow the track to the location, or go first to the last visible house at the side street and drive then down.
