Something not right?

Description

grassy camping overlooking the lake. large restaurant, utterly dead when we were here (tues) but apparently busy on weekends. be warned... very large speakers! clean toilets, no showers. $10 per car. would be fab in summer but too chilly to swim for us! Think gate would be 3.5m high...

Price is still 20$ per vehicle.
We left.

a éviter le week end trop de monde. on nous a demandé 20 dollars juste pour stationner le véhicule alors qu'on voulait manger au restaurant! on a fuit!

Report Check-In

a couple of nice shady flat spots in the dirt under the trees. we were asked not to camp on the grass. I asked the guard at the gate for the price, and he says 20 bucks. so we ate lunch and asked the guy our waiter gave our money to and he said 20 bucks. so even with eating at the restaurant it was still 20 dollars. probably the most expensive place we have camped at in over 5 months. not worth it. music was so loud while we ate that the distortion of the speakers from a guy singing karaoke to an empty restaurant hurt our ears and we left half of our food. I ordered a shrimp plate but was delivered a bowl of rice and chicken. it was still pretty good, but when it came to the bill he charged us for the shrimp and not a chicken bowl. vendors constantly bothering us. it was quiet at night, but the loud music was blasting at 6:30am! I wouldn't recommend coming to this place. never in our entire time staying here did we feel welcomed at all, and honestly wouldn't come back to this lake. all of the available beaches are private so you can't walk around them and the waterfront at this place is also a jet skiing outfit so it's not safe to go into the water here either.

Price is back to $10 per night. Semi-clean bathrooms but no showers. There is a hose for water but we didn’t see any electrical sockets. Only flat spots are under the tree in the back of the lot, so you’re not really THAT near the water. But overall a nice place to camp.

They also play fairly loud music here until 8pm (on the weekdays). But if you’re in the back of the grounds, it’s not too bad.

Stayed 3 nights with truck camper and dog. Very nice young woman explained to us that when we eat in the restaurant we do not need to pay. Later, 10$ a night 🤔. Just didn't consume. Asked for a trip to Santa Ana, that went totally wrong, just cost us money for nothing. No showers, toilet okay. No wifi

Report Check-In

This place is now looking for $20 for one night of camping so we didn’t stay. Captain Morgan’s hostel 15 mins away has nice private rooms for $22. Fago del Lago further down the road will let you camp in their parking lot for free if you buy a drink or meal in their restaurant but the lot is very steep so a little awkward / uncomfortable.

Report Check-In

great place. 10$. they wanted another 10$ for electricity... negotiation didnt work out. good thing it is chilly in here, and that we've got a 3-way-fridge... so no electricity for one night is not a biggie...

Nice place at the lake. We payed 10 $ per night and could use the pool and the clean toilets with fluent water all day and night. The restaurant is a bit pricey but the view on the lake is great. You can even take a swim in the lake or rent a jetski / boat /SUP.

Report Check-In

We camped here for one night. Quiet and save place with a great view, pool and access to the lake. The toilets are clean and they provide fluent water. We payed $10 per car per night.

Report Check-In

We there are remained one night with one 24 feet. The road for go down at lake and close and with one strong slope but in there going carefully, that password. We paid 10 $. the restaurant proposes of very good dishes. The day is noisy but to leave of 18 all the world leaves the places, night very calm.

Report Check-In

Such a nice grass to camp on. Very thick, no ants and after 2 days camping no sign of wear at the entrance to our van. View of the lake from your campspot.

Live music (guy with a karaoke machine) everday until 17:00. Not that annoying from the place you camp at but unfortunately music from some neighbour (likely El Faro) continues until later.

10usd (2 + camper)
Tried to negotiate to stay for free aslong as we consume. And the offer was just if we consume more than 40usd pn.

Water of the lake has a very nice and not too fresh temperature to swim in.

Jet skiis and their fumes are rather annoying when swimming.

Best spot for shade is between play ground and tree (closer to tree than playground) stones or wood blocks to level car to be found along the walls.

Best spot for your solar system is on the right side on the flat spot next to the gray garbage hut (depending of wind direction you will get whiffs of it).

Ask guard to turn on pump for water.

no wifi. good cel coverage

Report Check-In

both access roads down to the lake are paved now.

We paid $10 to camp. ($5/person). Nice grassy spot, we were here on a Saturday and it wasn’t even that busy. Pool looked okay but we didn’t go in. Bathrooms were clean.

Report Check-In

As described, grassy area that is not very leveled (especially the further down towards the lake you go)
$10 / night for a truck camper with 2 pax
Toilets (dirty) and small pool (not very clean either when we were there) and lake access over their jetty. No wifi available

Report Check-In

Just as described. On a Tuesday, it was nice and quiet. The road down to the lake is steep and rutted - 4 wheel drive not needed but make sure brakes are in good shape. $10 per rig.

Report Check-In

Report Check-In

Good place for a night but wouldnt eat here again, we have had so much better in El Salvador so far. You can rent jet skis from the dock.
Not too many level spots. There was a wifi at the restaurant but we didn’t ask for the password.

Report Check-In

As noted. $10 for the night. Water available. Restaurant is decent. Music was off by 7 pm and place closed with gate locked. Nice breeze off the lake. Gps brought us on the Dirt road which is steep. The longer way is paved and better.

Report Check-In

We stopped here but did not camp. There was no place to set our hammock. The large grass area perfect for tents or vehicles.

Report Check-In

We slept here for 1 night. 10$ per rig. A really nice place with a grassy field.
You can use the pool which is nice for children or you can jump in the lake from the terrasse. It's a really cool place with nice people.
We first ask the hotel Torremolinos just next to but it was not as nice as here and they wanted 15$.
Toilets, water available on the site.
We recommend !
