Free. There was a landslide that blocked the road south so we had to camp in town. We found this spot near the river. It was very peaceful, nice view, super quiet at night. Better for rigs where you can sleep inside. Tent camping not permitted.
Why? By checking in after you’ve visited a place you let others know this place is still functional. You can also add or correct any information.
There was a 'no camping' sign (clearly made by a local) here so we did not stay. Instead we went to the grassy pull out 2km south of town near the mirador - much nicer.
Report Check-InFine spot for a quick overnight in good weather. Safe, quiet, level, and short easy walk to town. Had I stayed longer I would have moved to another site with a bit more privacy.
Report Check-InWe stayed one night here, quiet and a nice spot. However, watch out if it's raining a lot, as in the morning the river had risen a lot and it was really close to the motorhome. Luckily,we saw it and could drive away from it.
Report Check-InHe dormido aquí muy tranquilo, al lado de do barcas varadas, en frente una señora lava la ropa.
Report Check-InLos camping en la zona no son baratos, aquí buena localizacion
Report Check-InDON’T CAMP HERE!!! Camping is prohibited and if seen you will be asked to move. There’s a sign stating that camping is prohibited. The tide comes up SUPER HIGH and it gets really flooded in the middle of the night. It will ruin your vehicle. Don’t camp past the small stone retaining wall, that’s where the tide comes in. We were warned by the cabarineros and were asked to move up next to the road in our camper van. We were up late star gazing and saw the tide come up, so grateful we moved!!! The boats that are tied up next to the river were floating! Not sure exactly where everyone that’s camped here before stayed here and if the tide was so high last night was due to the full moon. Non the less we love the vibes at Puyuhuapi! This spot is absolutely lovely, specially at sunset when the tiny dolphins come to play on the beach. The stars are magnificent at night, oh the glorious Milky Way! Great spot to come enjoy the landscape and forage calafate only. If you are in a camper van or RV stay next to the road, it’s not as scenic but it’s safe.
Report Check-Inspent one night here. good enough, quiet. there's a copec 300m away with bathrooms
Report Check-InJust to give an update: This spot is good for big rigs, well leveled and we also saw some backpackers with tents here. Calm during the night, near to the center of the village. Free, no amenities.

Report Check-InVery good place, quite and with a lot of space for big rigs. We stay here in a rain day and it was really nice to enjoy the sound of the stream, of the lake and of the nature around us. Behind there are two small house and the antenna, no one take care about us.
Report Check-InI tent camped here with my bicycle and got chased away in the morning by the police, who said there is no free place to spend the night in town.
Report Check-InWe pass the night here with more 3 overlanders, nice place, calm at night!
Report Check-InCrowded but nice people, all Hitchhickers. Direct on the Beach, out of sight of the small town
Report Check-InFree. There was a landslide that blocked the road south so we had to camp in town. We found this spot near the river. It was very peaceful, nice view, super quite at night. Better for rigs where you can sleep inside, but tent campers could use it if you wanted to camp for free.
