UPDATE: CampSite 10,000 pesos per person per night and 3,000 pesos for 5kg laundry.
Why? By checking in after you’ve visited a place you let others know this place is still functional. You can also add or correct any information.
We enjoyed our 3 nights here, very quiet and peaceful with good shade and nice people. Just felt relaxing and lovely from the harsh desert and sun.
Wi-Fi worked great for us and good showed and appreciated they had drinking water all could use for free at the sink.
Pool was half full still - people were swimming in it - I just don’t get if it’s a water shortage thing or what because it’s a nice pool and the hosts seem to care?! We didn’t swim.
Will say we were desperate to do three loads of laundry and none really came out very clean. Still dirt and mud on things so use it sparingly for must haves as salt water must not clean very well.
Overall recommend place but do check out lots of free ones around too if you don’t need any amenities or people around.
Oh one last thing - the owners dog lucky is a border collie and very sweet and playful. Some employee has two giant German Shepard mix things that attacked lucky so he has stiches on two sides of his neck poor thing. The German shepards attacked our little dog too - I’m not sure why the owner would allow an employee to have two dogs that are known biters on the premise. So keep your dogs close although they will love to run around here.
Stayed here for two nights, yes it is expensive - but all campsites in SPdA are overpriced! Nice hosts, women's showers have hot water and good pressure, men only have cold water. However, they told us that men can also shower in the women's showers - you can lock the door for that time, so it's not a problem. Pool was only half full and didn't look very attractive. Wifi was OK, but only a very weak signal at pitches further away. Very quiet during the week, lots of people here at the weekend.

Report Check-InOk for a night or two of rest after the Laguna Route in Bolivia, but very overpriced. We came for a hot shower, pool, and wifi. The pool was half filled and a toxic green color. No swimming. The wifi didn’t work the two days we were there. The men’s hot shower is still broken (only cold water). The trash in the bathrooms was overflowing with TP the entire time we were there. The laundry uses the same salty water that other comments have mentioned, so our clothes came out hard and crunchy. For over $20 USD for a couple in a van, it’s not worth it in our opinion. This whole town is a tourist trap, though… Oh, and there is no communal area or kitchen area to sit down and work in, even though there are photos added here. A positive was the space for our dog to run around and play with the friendly resident dog at the campground.
Report Check-InStayed here for a week. Still 10‘000 CLP/p. Everything fine, clean bathrooms and hot showers. The tap water is not potable as it is slightly salty. They provide bottled drinking water for personal use. If you want to refill your water tank you can buy drinking water for 2‘700 per 20l bottle. Washing machine is 4’000 per 5kg load, if you need detergent it is plus 600 per load. Electricity is solar generated and is available from about 9am til 10pm. Wifi is available also during these hours.
Report Check-InNice & peaceful & sunny place. Nights are super quiete.
4000CP for using washing maschine.
Unfair to complain about salty water as it is a place in the dessert. But they could fix men's toilet so that the flush works. As well they could fix men's showers so that hot water works. They could clean the pool.
But they don't have to as it's San Pedro de Atacama, so tourists will come anyway...
Very good campsite, ahowers work great now, wifi too :), shade, sitting places. Mostly clean. Recommend!!
Report Check-InReally nice camp site - hot showers with pressure - solar even works when light clouds. Electricity for campers was NO problem. Wifi worked great. Great place.
Report Check-InReally nice place! we had some resttime here. The weather was hot so the pool was nice for refreshment.
The owner is kind and helpful.
The place was clean.
I really recommend it!
We stayed here only one night after the lagoon road. The showers changed between really hot and cold. I tried to find the middle for the temperature but no chance. Also has the water in the shower a bad smell.
We filled our RV Tank and the water also smells. We used it only for dish washing but not to drink. The WiFi was okay. Its also for Big Rigs, no limits for heigh or weight. Maybe only trees are little bit low in some parts.
You have energy and light on your place. The pool has half water and where really cold. The laundry is only from 10-5pm and runs with a generator. Its 4000 CLP for max. 5kg and 600 CLP for detergent. With our stuff member it was easy to use it two times, but the young lady sayed that we need a appointment for the laundry and also for overnight.
We payed 25000 CLP for 2 adults and one 6 years child for one night and where not so happy.
Lovely place! Perfect to explore the highlights of this area. Clean, friendly owner and quiet. Nice nightsky with a lot of stars because it is really dark. It is 15 min. from San Pedro center.
Still 10.000
Very nice place and perfect for campervans & tents in the middle of the nature. Quiet, clean amenities, good value for the price (10'000 pp seems quite normal in this area). Hot showers and solid pressure. Recommended!
Report Check-InPerfect place to rest and reset after the Laguna Route or on your way northbound. Quiet, well shaded spots, hot showers and laundry.
Report Check-InOkay campsite. The location and views are amazing. Quiet, no traffic. Many power issues, site runs on solar energy and battery is insufficient for the site.
Meaning no power in morning or after sunset. No hot water only when it’s super sunny, between 11-16 which is very inconvenient. Did not have 1 hot shower. WiFi not working half the time due to power issues.
We go to campings so we can heat by electricity. That’s possible here, even if we use only 1000W and being the only people on the camping, the system can’t take it.
Sanitairy building very cold, like 5° in the morning and no lights.. toilet tiny you can not sit with the door closed. All water is salty and you need to pay for refilling potable water. It’s all too primitive for this price of $20.000 per night.
Report Check-InAs usual, the best camp site for Overlanders in San Pedro de Atacama.
We stayed two nights 2p and motorhome and paid CLP 20,000 per night. Nice atmosphere. Possibility to use washing machine (CLP 2,000 plus CLP 500 FOR detergent. Shower mostly cold. Could be bad luck but out 4 times 3* cold and 1* luke warm in beginning. Owners very helpful.
Report Check-InAmazing place right under the starts of the Atacama desert. Beautyful spot, quit, clean toilets, hot showers, friendly host. One night is definately not enough, stay longer.
Report Check-InVery nice camping !! 10 000pp. We enjoy our night here, very quiet, good facilities ! Potable water also. Highly recommend!
Report Check-InWe cannot recommend the place. Why? 1. The showers hadn't been cleaned, there was still rubbish in every cabin from the previous guest 2. At 9:00 p.m. the power generator went on and the diesel fumes swept over the place! Of course it was loud too. 3. At 10:00 p.m. a huge caravan had to be maneuvered onto the site, which took quite a long time.
Report Check-InAndes Nomads Desert Camp & Lodge, will be closed from March 24 until Sunday March 26. From Monday 27 will be open again.
Report Check-InElectricity is made by solar panels, we were told not to use the electric cooker as it tooks too much power. But kitchen is only for room guests. It means if it is windy (can't cook on gas outside)and you do not have a camper, you can't cook here. Facilities clean, soap and toilet paper. Quite good WiFi. Nice place.
Report Check-InCurrent phone number. +56 9 3252 1490. Works on WhatsApp too. He said it changed about a month ago. Also, it is posted on the bulletin board when you pull into the property.
Report Check-Inabsolutely perfect Base Camp to Explore the Environment in day Trips. why?
1) good spots in Shades
2) extreme good WiFi
3) Non Potable Water for Services Like washing machine, hot shower and dishes
4) Potable Water to fill your bottles for the day
5) Potable Water to fill your tank in your Car. WE paid 3.000 Pesos for 80 Liter
6) 220v at Sites If your solar Module fails because of the schade
7) WE paid 10.000 ppn and stayed 6 nights to Explore and get ready for the next Leg
8) Taxi to spda is 8.000 per Ride and very reliable
Super nice spot! we stayed here 5 nights, clean campsite for a reasonable price. Shower and bano also clean. owner is friendly and helpful. price was 10000 pp. A lot of other overlander's here to join the warm evenings 😊
Report Check-InAs previously described, except pool use is included in the camping fee and there are power outlets everywhere. After days or weeks of being on the move this is a great sanctuary. Shower, wifi, supplied drinking water and general peace and quiet are all excellent. Stock up on supplies (there’s a communal fridge if you need) and take a break. Plus the super welcoming owner speaks perfect English.
Report Check-Invery sweet nicely made little camping under chania trees. Hot showers and well maintain). A loud generator at the back but if you are not near it its ok.
Report Check-InThe owner of the place Mauricio was very friendly letting us boil water in the kitchen for mate.
we put our tent and was 10.000 clp per person very good price.
Hot shower, starlink internet( very fast!) and place to clean the dishes.
Nice camping. Almost all the spaces have shadow. Also the spaces are nice big. Showers and toilets are clean enough. Pool is good, costs extra money tough (6000). You can do your laundry but it’s a cold wash, because of the energie system (I believe everything is on solar, and he has a generator if it’s been a cloudy day that’s mostly on from 09.00-23.00). Mauricio is a kind and helpful guy.
Report Check-InGreat camping near San Pedro. We were here in 5 cars, arrived at night, and were very well received by Mauricio. Plenty of space to accommodate us all together. The water from the taps and showers is well salted, but they provide potable water for drinking and cooking. We spent Christmas here, and it was really welcoming and familiar! The value is 10,000 pesos per person (yes, expensive! But one of the cheapest we found in San Pedro and with the best structure).
_______
Report Check-InBest camping for rv, campers and people in car. a lot of space, natural tree shade, pool and very nice hosts.
Report Check-InSpent 3 nights there : an amazing spot near San Pedro ! Quiet, with lots of services and the kindness of Mauricio. If you are near this place, do not hesitate and spend the night there !
Report Check-InWe really enjoyed this campsite. Nice, good space, swimming pool. You can get everything. After travelling for many days we met the first overlanders here. The only drawback is the poor wifi.
Report Check-InBeautiful campsite
Perfect place to relax
The owner, Mauricio, is friendly and very helpful. He helped us repair our water tap and founds us a mechanic in town
Nice big camping, showers were not really hot though. But nice environment
Report Check-InVery nice place with amazing views, clean bathrooms and hot showers. Very large, level, shady and beautiful sitios with a lot of privacy. They provide a table, chairs, BBQ, fire pit, electricity (Chilean/EU household plugs), lights and non-potable water at each sitio. 9500 pesos per person per night and they had a 3 nights for the price of 2 promotion when we were there. Washing machine available for 3000 pesos per load. A 15 minutes drive from the center of SPdA (7000-8000 pesos for a taxi). Unreliable WiFi and poor Entel and Movistar connection.
One major downside: I was bitten by Lucky, the campsite dog. He wasn't being aggressive, but rather too enthusiastic and playful (he's still very young). Nevertheless, I thought it might be important to know, especially if you have young kids.
Report Check-InAmazing place! 9500 pesos per person per night. Restroom, hot showers, cooking area, fire pit with wood. Friendly hosts and dog :)
Report Check-InExcelent camping to rest and enjoy the Atacama desert. Mr. Mauricio the owner is an excelent person and can help the overlanders with all we need. We went there for a day and stay for 6 days more.
Report Check-InWe absolutely loved this place. It is the perfect spot to return to after a couple of wildcamp nights at higher attitude. We did this a couple of times and everytime that we returned we felt at home. Yessy is the best and will do anything in her power to help you! Definitely go here to relax a few days or use it as your basecamp for daytrips.
Report Check-InVery warm welcome from Maurice and Yessy. The campsite is well equipped with hot water and even WiFi! The sites are very large and the bonus of having light, a small water supply, table and barbecue.
The area is very beautiful, peaceful, a very nice place to enjoy the sunsets and starry skies!
As described, wonderful place and the very helpful and friendly host Mauricio. As. Price from 01.01.2020 on: 9.500 Pesos per night and person.
Ask Mauricio for Margarita: She makes a great astronomic explanation of the southern hemisphere. She also shows the objects in the sky with her big telescope. You can get pictures from her with you in the front and the night sky in the back. Its only 500m from the campsite away and the price is only 20.000 Pesos. Duration is 3,5 hours, starts at 21:30.
Report Check-InVery nice camping and lodge, the hostess Jorge and Jessy are very nice persons who told us what to do and where to go. 100% recommendable to stay
Report Check-Inwe spent two days in this wonderful camping, right in the middle of the desert. the campsite has a structure for travelers: trees with great shadows, clean bathrooms, showers with hot showers, washbasins, washing machine, wifi, panoramic views of the volcanoes and a starry sky. We stayed here for 2 days. Mauricio and Rodrigo are wonderful people! The daily rate is 7000 per person. To wash 3000 per load of 5kg of laundry + 600 for detergent.
Report Check-InWe confirm what everyone has already said: 7000 pesos pp/pn, 3000 for the washing machine, free potable and non potable water if you ask Mauricio to open the tap.
Very peaceful with good spots in the shade
Report Check-InThey changed the WiFi, good in the morning (up to 1mb/s) and really bad in the afternoon/evening (13-100kb/s)
Report Check-InAs described. Nice and quiet. Pool is still too dirty and full of vesps=(
Report Check-InVery friendly owner, nice quiet camping site, warm showers and good wifi around the pool area. Free portable water and washing machine for extra money. Would have been a nice pool but sadly there were tons of vesps inside, so we couldn‘t use. Thank you Mauricio for all the advices.
Report Check-InWent for one night and end up staying 5 mostly because of the other travellers, we had such a good team there.
Mauricio is obviously a great person very friendly who joined us almost every night to talk to us. Rodrigo is also the best always smiling. We park under the big tree so perfect for the shadow. The swimming pool is nice but not very clean. A bit far from the city and nothing around but al least you enjoy the quiet surrounding. We really enjoyed staying here.
7000 pp.
Spend 3 weeks here over Christmas and New Year, had an excellent time.
We also incorporated a 3 night tour to Uyuni, which an experience in more ways than one.
The campsite is run on solar and generator. WiFi is not brilliant but it works. We were able to connect to Claro.
It's a simple site in the desert but it seems to work well. We had a great Christmas and New Year with many overlanders.

7 000$Ch pppn comprenant l’eau potable.
Wifi super slow and barely reached the van, which was frustrating for the amount you’re paying, though the location is lovely and the showers have great pressure and hot water if you need it. They also have night astronomy tours really close to the campsite so you don’t have to do the ones in town.
Report Check-InWatch out! There is a second sign, description and rating on IOverlander for this place.
Enlarge the Map to see the second sign behind this one.
Very recomendet! I agree!
Report Check-InAbsolutely a top site, up there with the best in South America! Beautiful surroundings and excellent facilities and Q U I E T !!!
Here you can listen to the silence! Easily the best place for overlanders in this area.
Once you get close, turn onto the driveway by the Lot 52 sign. Some GPS maps and maps.me lead you too far west where there is no access. Google maps supposedly displays correctly.
Spent 2 1/2 weeks at Mauricios Campsite! What a lovely place to be stuck! Our dieselpump was leaking and Mauricio help us with everything as much as he could until we found a solution. Plus showers are hot, toilets are clean and there’s a sink to do your dishes.
Report Check-InThis is a very clean, safe and beautiful place to stay and to storage your car. Very friendly helpful owner.
Report Check-InMauricio is a very good host, good place to meet other overlanders, lots of places with electricity available. Clean water, hot showers. WiFi and pool well maintained. Pet friendly.
Report Check-InCamping for big rigs. Really nice place to stay. Very friendly and helpful owner.
Report Check-InDecided to escape from San Pedro de Atacama and go to this place. Struggled a bit to find the place. Lovely and peaceful. 7000 pesos pp for camper van. Electricity on site running from 8am till midnight. Hot showers. They are French speaking owners also. Wifi not bad during our stay.
Report Check-InThe facilities are getting a bit tired. Not easy to get a hot shower. Doors don’t close well anymore etc. Swimming pool not very appealing to use. Kitchen now only for users of the Cabañas, not for campers. They have plans to build one for campers. Still a nice place to be in the nature, have shade under a tree and meet other overlanders. Good atmosphere. Still recommended.
Report Check-Inlocation info is spot on. stayed here 4 nights and had a fantastic time. Ample shade to pitch tent and park the motorcycle. Mauris the owner is well travelled and really friendly. Rooms are also available. brilliant night sky. Excellent showers and toilets all spotless clean. drinking water included on price. 5000 for one tent and motor cycle. Definitely reccomended. Enjoy
Report Check-InReally nice place in the desert! Clean hot hot showers, and bathrooms with paper. sink, was clean , nice pool , quiet at night. The WiFi was good at our time. Very friendly and helpful owner. But think about you re in the desert, so there are no shops or restaurant! Drinking water available - but only to fill small bottles
Report Check-InBrilliant host and great community feel. Clean showers and toilets! Really good camp ground with pool. Also has water/kitchen facilities and laundry too. Good location out of San Pedro with great views of the mountains. Definitely worth the stay! 7000CHP p/p
Report Check-InNice place under the trees and out of the city of SP de Atacama.
Hot solar shower until midnight.
No electricity from 10:00pm to 08:00am
Camping is totally of the grid 😁
Bathroom are clean.
Wifi is very slow and only near the bathroom.
The owner is very nice and volunteers too.
7000 CP per person and per night.
great place for overland. shower, bathroom. swimming pool
7.000 chilean pesos for person.
Amamos ficar nesse lugar
Report Check-InAfter passing through the tiny town of Cucuter from San Pedro, in about 2km you'll see a yellow sign saying "Lot 52" - this is the turn and you'll be able to see campers. Nice little oasis and very quiet.
Pool was not open when we were here but showers were hot and clean. Unfortunately in the two days we were here the banos and camping sinks were not cleaned (if you have a fully equipped camper, the hostel's kitchen is off limits if they are full), - the volunteers get weekends off (?), WiFi extremely slow one day and out most of second day. No shops or restaurants around so come prepared. Washing machine use costs 3000CLP and didn't spin well. Oh and power went out about five times during our stay. Owner is very nice though. Might have stayed longer if WiFi better as we'd been disconnected for several days and needed it.
We stay here for 1 day. Manager Mauricio very amable. Simple place with hot showers, toilets, water to fill tanks but eletricity is limited.
$5.000 chi per person only.
Wonderful place a bit away from busy San Pedro. Best price benefit. Washing machine available. Mauricio, the owner, was so Nice and helpful.
Report Check-InGreat experience!
Very nice place, clean bathrooms and full kitchen, wifi ok, shades, pool, barbecue spots, and the best place to see the stars only for that worth stay here.
And Mauricio the owner, is very friendly and always helpful, thanks Mauricio!!!
Report Check-InVery nice overlander place. Plenty space and everything there. Good showers and clean toilets. Really cool !!!
Report Check-Inmauritio is a very friendly and laid back guy who is happy to welcome you in his laid back desert camp!!
most likely you will meet other overlanders there.
it's great that you have so much space for yourself.
great kitchen and comunal area, too.
washing machine available.
very nice overlander vibe.
Hello
I think this is the place to stay some days and visit the area.
First we stay some days in San Pedro but with the children is nice to find sometime a secure place where they can run.
We stay one week....!
We have make a great ride in the desert with our bicycle.
The shower are with salt water (just a litlle), but you have potable water in the commun kitchen, and Mauricio work a lot on his potable water station....it will be in place soon.
Mauricio is so friendly and help us when we need.
If you have a big rig it's OK.
It's a quiet and safe place.
After traveling 5 day in the Atacama desert we arrived at Andes Nomads. What a place! It makes you feel at home, relax and secure. Stunning views and a great host makes the picture complete. Electricity through generator is available from 8.00 till 24.00 hours. It is a hidden secret and not easy to find without GPS.
Report Check-InExactly as described. Everything an overlander need is available here regardless of the mean of traveling. Just come with your food and your good mood. Moricio is really the most kind man on earth. And an experienced traveler.
The place to be in this area and possibly the place to stay more time than planned.
The first overlander campsite we stayed at in South America great campsite. Great owner Maurice himself a ex overlander.
Report Check-InReally a great spot. Mauricio is a wonderful host. He even collected wood for our campfire. Nice music in the „clubhouse“. Washing machine for 3000P.
Report Check-InEverything as described. Led by the overlander for overlanders. Everything what you need in one place. Showers are solar so good water temperature at this time of the year is afternoon only.
5000clp p/pers.
We stayed here for a few days, and really liked it! Mauricio is really nice, everything is pretty clean, the hot showers have good pressure, the kitchen is well equipped, there is a great common room and the place is solar-powered. ☀️ The only little thing that you could make better are the really small toilet cabins 🚽😄
Report Check-InVery nice and peaceful place. You will definitely stay longer than you thought.
Report Check-InBest place for miles! Such an amazing camp location, with literally everything you could need. There is Wi-Fi now, and bottled water to drink in the kitchen. Best communal kitchen and cool hang out space during the day. 5000 pesos per person. We could easily stay a week. Food in town at various small supermarkets, market near the cemetery has best veg we thought especially on Thursday when we visited.
Report Check-InWarning: if you have a strict travel plan, do not visit this place, you will stay longer than expected! It's such a lovely place, clean, affordable and friendly owner. And you will meet lots of overlanders there to exchange travel info.
Report Check-InGreat place to relax a few days under the trees of this oasis. Mauricio is more than friendly and speaks good french and english.
Report Check-InNice camping with lots of shade. Use of toilet is an interesting exercise (toilet and door are very close together), but we csn live with that ;-) possible to wash your clothes for free. Shower uses bit salty water. 5000clp each
Report Check-InExcellent spot for overlanders, everything you need to recharge and very friendly host. Don't rely on wifi, but so worth it for everything else. Sure to become the go to place in San Pedro.
A piscina é grande e a água é mantida sempre limpa.
Report Check-InGreat campsite. Communal area inside with tables and chairs, cooking facilities. clean toilets and showers and hot water. There’s even a pool. Mauricio is very helpful and even helped us with some paperwork for our car. Lovely peaceful setting. Highly recommended.
Report Check-Inperfect campsite, Mauricio the owner is super nice and friendly, speaks English France and Spanish, beautiful kitchen, good showers, stayed 5 days there. highly recommended
Report Check-InAn amazing campsite specialized to overlanders. Great space in the desert setting. Should be advertised as Glamping. Spacious with designated spaces for small and big rigs. Great kitchen and common area with tables, couch, books... indoor and outdoor sitting areas. Coal/wood grill, pool, stargazing observation platform, laundry, clean toilets and showers with hot water... Internet it’s not a forté, but there is some reception from cell towers.
Mauricio was a great host, very friendly and helpful. He will actually look into helping you on every inquiry. He found us a mechanic after we asked about it casually.
He still honored his promotional price of $5000clp /p. Don’t know how long it will last.
Really a nice place! Same place as Andes Nomads, which is mentioned as a second entry in IOverlander. Very helpful and friendly. Good camping, well equipped communal kitchen and clean , hot shower/toilets. Also rooms available and a washing machine for free. Pool, BBQ pits and electricity in an ample, shady place with several spots to camp. WiFi slow but ok to check e-Mails & WhatsApp. Mauricio‘s intention is to create a location for overlanders to relax and recharge energy. As he only recently opened the place he offers the special rate of 5000 CLP per person camping, no extra for car, everything included. Once officially open, he plans to charge 8000 CLP. Highly recommendable.
Report Check-InAmazing place, really nice people! The pool is ready and the shower are wonderful! Only not recommendable if you need WiFi, that didn’t work while we were there.
Report Check-InWe hadn't good night here. People, probably volunteers who work here, were loud at night, they had party. Good thing is you can make a laundry for free and they are helpful.
Report Check-InAs mentioned before. Maurizio and his staff are very friendly. They are really working to improve the campground. It‘s worth to go. Maybe hard to find in night. You can picture stars inside the camping, very low light pollution. Just great.

Report Check-InVery nice place out of the city. Mauricio the owner is very friendly (especialy with french people as he is half french half chilian). 8000 clp / vehicle + 4000 / pers. (free for kids under 12 years old).Hot shower, clean toilets, swiming pool, kitchen. Also possible to rent a room with private bathroom and breakfast at 40 000 clp for 2 pers. Highly recommended. We spent a beautiful christmas there.
Report Check-Invery nice place for any type of truck and motorhome. In a midle of Atacama desert
Report Check-InVery nice place, surrounded by the driest desert in the world, but the place is an oasis, full of vegetation, with a good swimming pool. Mauricio its owner very worried about each guest. You can wash your clothes at no additional cost and carry drinking water from the plant that owns reverse osmosis. a highly recommended place, although it is a bit removed from San Pedro, Mauricio can leave you and look for San Pedro.
