Something not right?

Description

This is a large hotel that caters to industrial mining workers but they have a secure parking lot (no height restrictions), a fabulous breakfast, and good wifi. The clean and modern rooms were a nice change after spending significant time in Bolivia on the Lagunas Route.

It's right on the beach and our kids enjoyed exploring the tide pools. It's a 10 minute drive from the Jumbo Supermarket and restaurants along the waterfront.

They accept US dollars (which means they won't charge you the 19% tax) or US credit cards. Or you can pay in Chilean pesos. We paid $82usd/night for a room with a king bed. We're a family of four and the kids slept on the floor in their sleeping bags.

They do have a laundry service - but it was expensive so we didn't use it.

The breakfast was the best we've seen in 5 months of travel.

One note about the parking lot: No problem for cars, pickups, and motorbikes. Some areas are covered from the sun. The ramp down to the lot takes a sharp turn and may not be suitable for big rigs. We drive a big Toyota Tundra (with truck camper) and didn't have an issue but something longer might have difficulty.

We tried visiting the Chick-In Hotel (also mentioned on iOverlander) but didn't feel comfortable with the parking.

Latest Check-Ins

Solid parking lot, although big rigs likely won’t fit. Basically the biggest you can fit is a truck camper. Very secure place, although the hotel is not cheap. It does, however, come with free breakfast and a complimentary welcome drink. Felt very safe here and it’s next to the ocean which is nice.

If your auxiliary battery is in dire need of charging because it’s winter and your solar panel just can’t cope: if you park all the way in the back there is a socket to plug in your van near the entrance. Filled our water tank there too.

No utensils in our room’s kitchen (COVID?), but perfect that there was a kitchen: kettle, toaster, electrical stove, refrigerator, microwave.

loved it! amazing hotel to relax for a few days. paid 39 US$ on booking.com including breakfast and parking. ask for room 706, it's the best in the top floor with kitchen and more windows than the other rooms

As stated but check their website first. You might get a much, much better rate.

Nice hotel, very friendly staff. Secured parking lot. 15min drive to the centre (for restaurants etc). nice beach with good view over the city directly in front of the hotel.

Perfect hotel to relax after longer time wild camping! Large breakfast, super clean rooms, all with sea view, super friendly staff.
For CAMPERVANS: The city is unfortunately not very save for the vehicles. In this hotel you have a secured parking area with cameras, gate and most times security in person! Included in the room price - perfect! To go to the city use uber (cheapy) ore a taxi. We also could reload our fresh water tank.
