Latest Check-Ins

Visited this place for one night. Close to the beachfront, 150 meter walking distance. Campground has several spots with tables and some trees for shade, tent and rv camping possible. Several restaurants close by. Beach somehow crowded by locals, it was a Saturday and so also noisy until midnight with music, motorcycles, lots of barking dogs, etc. may calmer during the week.

We spend one week here for work. We saw LOTS of monkeys which was super nice ! Few meters from the beach. You can do some snorkeling near the rocks on the right side of the beach ;)

Internet was not super quick but we had starlink.

Not sure it’s “big rig friendly” as the entrance is not that wide (you need to go over a little bridge kinda). However, you could probably park on the street during weekdays

Spend here a weekend in my campervan. Had a nice shaded spot with table, light and electricity. Half of the camping is tent only, half is for cars / campers. Toilets and showers were clean when I was there. Area to wash dishes and wifi too. Price: C5000.— pPpN
Saw monkeys in the morning, chilling in the trees. :-)
Beach is nice, beautiful for swimming as no strong current or big waves, clear water, lots of shade from trees along the beach.

The first thing we noticed when we arrived was a smell of feces, the lady who served us was going to charge us 5000 colones per person after WhatsApp charged us 4000 per person. In the area they designated us there was only a small tree to protect from the rain and we had to sleep in the car because it rained heavily. The bathrooms were dirty and without toilet paper. There were too many howler monkeys that were constantly dropping excrement and urine (they could fall on your food since there was no protection). For all the above it was a bad experience.

The Campground is actually really good now!

Super friendly owners,
grassy, level and shady spots,
clean bathrooms (toilets, showers, soap),
we used their bbq with firewood from the garden,
Electricity,
Wifi (not the fastest, but even in our Van),
1 min. walking to Playa Hermosa

We almost skipped the place because of the comments - but for us it was one of the better Campgrounds in CR (especially much nicer than Tamarindo!)

5.000C pp.

Campground is a field where you can park. It was busy and cars and tents are fairly close to each other. The washrooms were terrible and smelly. We couldn't leave this one quick enough, the next morning.

Report Check-In

10'000 for two persons per night. Showers and Toilets very very dirty, would not stay again.

Report Check-In

Very friendly hosts here. Open green space to park the 4x4 with rooftop tent. Bathrooms and cold shower — they got the job done. Heard the howler monkeys in the morning in the trees above! Close drive to the beaches.

Report Check-In

We stayed one night. Was the weekend so lots of locals. Only had 2 places to park our 4x4 with a rooftop tent, the rest was for tents only. They had 3 big furnished tents for rent. Cleaned the bathrooms/showers twice a day. Had howler monkey eating breakfast right above us which was pretty cool.

Report Check-In

Showers and bathrooms clean, lots of shade, good location, 8$ per person. All good recommended!

Report Check-In

Nice camping area setup, we paid 15000 for 3 people. WiFi didn’t work but apart from that everything was good!

Report Check-In

Expensive (8,000)
Dirty.
Very noisy on weekends.
Everything else is ok.

Report Check-In

Great place. Perfect secured yard for dogs. 2 old friendly dogs on property. Lots of shade and potable water. Caretakers very sweet old couple. Owner not so much but she only popped up our last day. Paid 10,000 colones per night. WiFi in and out. Nice cabins for rent also.

Report Check-In

This place is large enough for all rigs. Plenty or power to run AC. 1 block from semi crowded beach
Clean bathrooms. WiFi only close to main house. 20$ for 2 ppl and 2 dogs in truck camper.
Stayed 1 night as we called this a landing spot after crossing the border ...3.5 hours due to not having correct exit papers for dogs. 98 degrees outside and needed AC for at least a night to cool down before heading down the nicoya

Report Check-In

Nice place the owner Luisa was very kind , we paid 5000 c per person, lot of birds , squirrels and howler monkeys in the morning !

Report Check-In

Good place to stay a couple nights, the camping area is grassy and shaded, lots of tables and benches, barbecues on site, electrical hookups. Bathrooms and showers are a mess, pet friendly

Report Check-In

This is a dirty place. They don’t clean the bathrooms at all!! There was so much sand on the floor to take a shower.. Terrible!
It’s totally overpriced, the guy firstly asked for 12.000 colones per person. After negotiating, he let us stay for 10.000 as long as we stayed 2 nights or more.
It’s close to Hermosa beach though, which is a very nice place.
And it’s big rig friendly.

Report Check-In

Perfect , near by beach - 3 min walk. Shared big kitchen, garden with crazy little black dog and VERY friendly mama(sita) - owner. Possible to pay by credit card but final prize is X*1,18. Fast internet. Prize for 4 people / 1 king size and 1 double = 60$ USD = Cheap.

Report Check-In

Place is OK, electricity at sites, sinks, bbq grills, place for big rigs, but washrooms were definitely not clean.

Report Check-In

We paid 10000 C. Electricity at site, water (but not at site-had to drive over to it). Bathrooms and showers could have used a sweeping, but basically clean. Nice communal kitchen if you feel like using it. Right at the beach with pricy hotel restaurants nearby and cheaper ones if you walk away from the beach into town. WiFi was okay.

Report Check-In

The owner wanted 5000 colones p.p. with our rig. After negociation we paid 4000. The place were very wet, so without 4x4 it would be hart to enter, but we think, that it will be better in the next days. The shower and the toilets weren`t very clean (lowseason?) and the were a lot of ants at the campside.

Report Check-In

8000C per night for two people in a camper. Nice camping site, very spacious place. Clean toilets and decent showers. Wifi password is [passwords are not allowed unless explicitly permitted by the owner]. Close to the beach.

Report Check-In

$8 per person. Super nice staff. Good clean showers and bathrooms. Just a short walk to gorgeous beach. Easy hookups to electricity at site, with added bonus of light on tree to illuminate campsite at night. Weekend night, and quiet and peaceful!

Report Check-In

When driving here from Liberia you will pass the hostel on the left. take a left right after it and enter from that street to camping area. We paid 4000 colones pp per night despite asking for a discount for staying four nights. Good cell reception for both Claro and Movistar. Wi-Fi not fast and craps out often in the afternoon for some reason. Reached our site though. Washrooms okay, had seats but not always paper. Lovely beach here a block away. There is a tienda on the main road you come in on.

Report Check-In

camped here for three nights with four people, asked for a discount and got it for 3k a person if we paid upfront. bathrooms are adequate but a bit grungy, it appears they are building more. power is available in every spot and WiFi is good. the beach access is close and Playa Hermosa is stunning - one of my favourites!

Report Check-In

Stayed here for one night with our car and rooftop tent.
Shower's and toilets are not very clean but usable.
After rain the place gets quite muddy.
WiFi available, average speed.
Electricity at various places across the Camping Site, so hookup should be possible at every spot.
We payed 8000crc, 4000crc per Person, asking for a discount was declined.

Report Check-In

nice staff, nice dogs. more mosquitos than i have had to deal with in awhile. good wifi. location is pretty good. $8 per night for 1 person. $5 for laundry.

Report Check-In

Nice place, well shaded, close walk to the beach, though they weren't too friendly. Paid 4,000c per person and had the place all to ourselves. Lights and electricity at each site. Picnic tables.

Report Check-In

nice large gully equiped campsite. 4000 colones pero personas, no charge for the rv in low season

Report Check-In

Crowded with lots to weekending Ticos tent camping here in what is basically a big fenced in dirt parking lot. Facilities are decent though and our 2 year old loved the close-by beach playground.

Report Check-In

Nice little camp spot right off the beach. We plugged in, had nice strong showers, and outdoor kitchen wash area for $4000C/person +$1000 for car. We also had laundry done for an extra $5/us. Lots of iguanas and mono congos, really nice!

Report Check-In

Nice shady campground next to Hermosa Beach. The lady asked 6000 Colones per person plus 1000 Col for the truck camper (we talked her down; didn't need electric hookup or the washrooms). Has bbqs, banos, flat level ground, friendly people, nice huge dog.
