Unique and spectacular spot at the edge of a cliff. Several spots in the area just off the main road. No cover, we got lucky and had it wind free. Condors and several other birds of pray spotted circling the cliffs. Likely only accessible around summer as it is surrounded by ski resorts so probably covered in snow in winter.
Our map had us access the spot off highway G-251 on a dirt road where the entrance was closed off with big boulders. This was incorrect. Drive about a minute further on the highway until you see a dirt/gravel 'parking lot' on the right. From here, you can see the dirt road that leads into the hills, where you can choose your camping spot for the night. The drive is bumpy but manageable, even with our low-clearance 4WD.

Definitely blocked off. Boulders at one entrance, a chained gate at the other entrance with a "authorization only" sign. I decided to respect their wishes and camped instead in the large parking area.
It is still hidden from the road, has good views, and is very flat. You can walk up to the view point for sunset and it is spectacular.
Report Check-InBarricaded off. Chain across entrance from parking lot noted below.
Report Check-InGorgeous place to camp. wonderful views. quiet. follow the instructions below, the main path has been blocked with boulders but go down to the gravel car park and you'll see the dirt track. we did it fine on two Motos. the road here is also beautiful, 40 switchbacks climbing the mountains. for camping you'll need a ground sheet lots of thorny plants came up through our tent. cold at night. get out of Santiago and head here
Report Check-InBeen there today. The spot looks great, but the access is still blocked with big boulders.
Report Check-Init is beautiful and cold at night. nothing to add to the previous comments - all true :-) very quiet and you see horses and condors.
Report Check-InFantastic spot for bird-watching and viewing the sunset! We arrived on a Friday afternoon and the area was filled with about half a dozen cars. But the area is so large it didn't feel crowded. Everybody left by sunset and we had the place to ourselves. Very quiet, very tranquil, great views of the mountains, perfect for car-camping or tent-camping. It got pretty chilly at night so be prepared for that. Report Check-InQuiet and peaceful spot.
Spectacular view of the mountains with beautiful sunsets! We were the only ones camping in the area although a few people passed through for the view and sunsets. We were there off-season and biked to Farellones where everything was pretty much closed with the exception of one shop where we bought water and grabbed some sandwiches so come prepared with supplies! It was easily accessible off the road.
Actually no problem to go to this really amazing spot. Leave the road at the big parking ground and the turn west...
Report Check-InWe've checked the place out. Indeed stunning scenery! Unfortunately both access roads have been blocked with huge boulders...
