Ecuador
was told possible to park overnight, we didn't.
Why? By checking in after you’ve visited a place you let others know this place is still functional. You can also add or correct any information.
Safe, quiet place to park for the night. The guard asked if we were planning to stay the night when we arrived - obviously used to campers by this point! $2.50 for entrance. No toilets in the car park but you can use the ones in the fairground for free, just a bit further up on your left of the car park. 10 min drive from the historical centre. Fairground toilets open from morning during the weekend and from 12pm during the week. Perfect place to park to visit Quito.
Report Check-InCable car shut down after incident in July, with no reopen date yet. Parking lot still free, guards let us in during business hours, could use toilets but didn't. Drinking water at fountain outside ticket bldg.
Report Check-InQuiet and safe place next to Quito.
A lot of taxis are waiting at the entrance, there is a public bus too, I don't know the price.
We went to the teleferico, the view was beautiful and pet friendly!
We stayed 3 nights. Arrived on a Saturday and left on a Tuesday. The weekend was pretty busy but clears out by 10pm at the latest. Other travelers around. There was nobody around on Monday. It’s a $5 Uber ride to the historic district.
There’s an amusement park across the street that has Itsy bitsy Spider, Old McDonald Had a Farm and London Bridge is falling down on an endless loop from noon to 10pm. The employees there must need psychiatric help.
A good place to camp and we would stay again.
Report Check-InGood spot, quiet after the theme park closes. We took the first Teleférico ride up to hike to Pichincha Cerro Rucu.
Both the Teleférico and the hike are pet friendly!
Report Check-Inwe stayed here one night. quiet and safe. didn't have to pay when we left, but they did want the parking ticket, so keep that. toilets at Volcano are free but not very clean. good cellphone reception with claro and cnt. we arrived on a busy Sunday around 1130 and there was still plenty of room, several parking levels were still empty. at the entrance is a sign saying no pets, but this only applies to the teleferique. the teleferique is quite expensive, $9 p adult if you are not from Ecuador.
Report Check-InStayed here for 2 nights, safe, rather quiet (lots of dogs barking during the night), could use Volcano park Toilets. Cell reception ok. Paid 2,50 to enter, exit 2 days later was free.
Report Check-InProbably the best place to stay in Quito for a low budget. They charge $USD2.5 vehicle for the entrance, and we spent 3 nights. No charge when leaving. No amenities, but you do have access to the ones in the Vulcano Park and the Teleférico a few meters away (as well as the attractions and restaurant). During weekends it gets packed with families, but nobody bothers you. And you are still close to the city.
Report Check-Ingood overnight spot. with some views of Quito. plenty of room for big rigs.
Report Check-InWe stay here 4 nights. Quiet, safe and nice. The road is paved and good. Good for big rigs. We paid 2.5usd the day we arrived and 2.5usd the day we left. Nice views. Nice hike to ruca pichincha.
Report Check-InNo possible to park overnight, no suitable for big rigs as the road to drive there is a nightmare.
Forget it.
Parking for cable car. $2.50 Quiet night, great view of Quito. 2nd gear low range climb, flat parking. No services.
