Paco's original temazcal | Tourist Attraction

We made the Temazcal on New Years Eve. It was intressting. You should be open for such rituals things and should not have claustrophobia or fear of the dark. They take place three times a week. It was ok, but we get more relaxed by a normal Sauna. 300 Pesos per Person including a vegtable meale.

We joined Pacos temazcal today and it was a great experience. It’s a traditional steam sauna ritual in a clay hut where hot stones are used for heating up, also different herbs to inhale. The tradition of temazcal is very old and used as a cleansing ritual, to push your immune system, to open your mind and to get connected with the earth. This ritual with Paco felt really authentic and was a great experience for us since we had only normal sauna before. We can highly recommend to visit Paco, you will find information about his appointments in the store of Arbolcromatico. He also does massages and acupuncture.

If you are interested to experience an original temazcal, go with Paco. There's a board in front of the tattoo shop (Arbolcromatico in the main street) where it's written when is the next temazcal. Paco is extremely respected here for his help with the community. If I got it right, I understood that he has been doing temazcal all his life and his family too. He is located in the forest (about 30-45 minutes by walk from the main street). You won't be disappointed with his ceremonies. At other places, we heard from people that they have been pushed in the temazcal and the "shaman" was not with them and was not hosting a ceremony at all. So many people just want to do business. Paco is a real one!

Ask in the town if Paco, the one going uphill 15 minutes by car, is doing this "sauna ritual". We arrived in full moon night and luckily he was performing. 150 pesos per person. You can walk 40 minutes to his ranch or go by moto taxi and then walk 10 minutes. Really nice experience to connect with nature and clean mind and soul. Bring swiming suit because it is really hot inside the adobe dome
