As described below, not great but your only option for getting out of the wind. They let us camp in a communal area for a donation - we paid for dinner and breakfast and then left around 20 BOB extra. On the whole very thankful to be welcomed for no charge but yeah, a chaotic place without running water. We found it very difficult to get breakfast in the morning as the jeep tours took precedence- we expected this but more kept turning up, so we ended up leaving much later than we had hoped. Happy to have been able to stay but don’t expect to have much control over your situation!

Bit of a run down dump of a hotel, but the only one here. Negotiated from 70 to 65 per person for a room with shared bathroom. Sheets clean, but room and bathrooms dirty. No running water. No shower. No power socket in room. Very cold in rooms.

Non-guests pay 5Bs for the toilet which is outrageously expensive considering there’s no running water or toilet paper.

Report Check-In

Would not recommend, only if you don‘t have another option.
They charged 240BS for a matrimonial, with „private bathroom“: shower did not work in our room nor somewhere else. Toilet flush is hardly working.
We discussed with the guy that he didn‘t tell us before that the bathroom is not even working, but he refused till the end to give even a little discount. So full price for basically nothing..
It‘s super cold in the rooms, was only managable to sleep additionally with our sleeping bags. Bathroom smells like canal and so is the matrimonial. Bedsheets dirty, not fresh.
We could use the kitchen, but there‘s nothing in it, not even running water.
Summary for us: Most expensive stay in whole Bolivia for getting nothing.

like wrote before the place is very cold. The lady wasn't here so there wasn't meal or breakfast offer. we had hot water for cooking ourselves. prices Don't changed since April.

Report Check-In

Ok place if you don't want to camp. Very cold inside, only left our sleeping bags to eat. 3C in the morning.
50pp in an empty shared room (matrimonial was 80). The kind old lady cooked us a good vegetarian dinner (vegetable soup, rice & eggs) for 25pp.

Seems to be the only place to stay before crossing into Chile.

Got a bed for 40bs in a room for six ppl (we were four). There are no showers, no running water (there’s a bucket with water to flush the toilet). Little tienda with Oreos, water and other candies.

We did not use the wifi but it’s available; 15min for 10bs.

Dinner for 30bs
Tea time for 10bs

Only place to stay before crossing the border to Chile? We paid 40bol pp for a dormitorio. The people were really nice, we were allowed to cook our own lunch at the bar, while the lady in the kitchen was very interested in our cooking setup. No showers, bathroom not very clean. There is a small tienda with water, galletas and some other snacks. You can also have dinner 25bol and breakfast here. Wifi 10bol per 15min.

I normally don’t write bad reviews but now I have to.
This place is terrible and the owners are really unfriendly.
We arrived here after a tour at the laguna route in Bolivia. We wanted to climb the licancabur and we were told you could find a guide here and stay before and after the trip.
Fact is, there is at the moment only 1 guide (also owner of hostel together with is wife)
They ask an extreme amount for guiding (1000 bol=160 usd) and a ride ($50) to the vulcanoe. The room and the building where extremely cold (-3 in the night).
We got a matrimonial room with a non functional bathroom (there was no shower for guests at all) for 120 bolivianos and dinner (40 bol) and breakfast (15 boliviano for 3 terrible pancakes). The bed was horrible. During our stay they ignored us, lied about availability of food and drinks and were really unfriendly. The WiFi costs 20 boliviano for half an hour! Probably the view from the licancabus is all worth it.. we didn’t go, also because there was snow and we just didn’t trust the guide. Never again… if possible try to avoid.

40pp. Clean. No shower. They can prepare meals and sell some basic snacks.
However really cold inside and owner terribly unpleasant. Not recommended but yes, not a lot more other accommodations in the area...

Report Check-In

nice and clean hotel no WiFi no showers parking is to the front on the street paid 60 Bob for one person in a dorm bike parked on street

Report Check-In

You can eat for 20bob (and finish all tour’s food 😉 for bikers)

Report Check-In

40 pp, so we paid 120 for family of 3. Very cold so you may need your own sleeping bag as well as the blankets they provide. No showers at all.
No power to charge anything in rooms (plugs exist but not connected). Some points in kitchen to use but this place is run off solar and batteries so consider that.

I can´t remember the exact price, but it´s cheap, quite nice and they offer meals as well, not only for guests of the hostel, but for everybody.
